Patti Stanger Doesn't Tip Well - Can't Spell

Patti Stanger went to a restaurant in New York on Thursday and left an awful tip. Apparently the bill was $224 and she was there for two and half hours. Tip amount? Well, wait a second, I will get there. According to The NY Post, she paid for $200 of the tip with a gift card which left $24 to be paid. She gave a tip of $25. I know many of you will say 10% is ok, but come on, it was 2.5 hours. Plus, it is not like she could not afford another $25 or so. I am not asking her to go full out here, but the 20% route would have been nice if you are there for almost an entire dinner shift.

What made matters worse is that apparently Patti has yet to learn the English language. Isn't she like 50? Look a the message she sent The Post about all of this. “My ast did the bill for me n counted out the cash, then I handed it to the server. She informed me the bill was $209.00. Not sure what’s going on here.”

Are you so lazy that you cannot type out the word and? Seriously? I will tell you what is going on here Patti since you are asking. It is that you are blaming your assistant for being stingy with a tip and got busted.

  1. i don't watch her show, but my sister had it on one day when i was at her house and patti asked some girl how to say something in "deaf language". i was literally speechless. so this story does not surprise me in the least.

  2. I watched about 15 minutes of this show once - it was terrible!

  4. So she's admitting out loud that she cannot count (what is the problem?). And has admitted that she has an assistant to count for her.

Which certainly explains how the millionaires on her show are not exactly that.

  5. Yea. I mean I read the post article as Amy suggested and its pretty much exactly what Enty said.

My problem with this more is her passive aggressive way of blaming her assistant. a) if you care about your image take time to type a complete thought out sentence and b) take responsibility for it. dont' pass blame.

from what i've seen of her she just seems like such a brazen ass that thinks she can do no wrong.

she was also on a radio show i listen to and she told the male host that he'd be in a relationship within six months. if he wasn't she'd take him to a fancy dinner on her (this is a nyc based sirius station). six months later he wasn't in a relationship, she came back on the show and said he was lying to get a free meal and refused to take him out as promised. she just couldn't stand to admit she may have been wrong for once.

  8. One of her shows came on this past week and she was setting up Dina Manzo's SONS! Like they were something to be proud of??!?!?! That was about as good as setting up Gummy Bear with a date. Those poor girls!

  9. Another person I have never heard of. So...I assume she's a Real Housewife?

  10. It was Caroline's sons, not Dina's sons who were set up. (I don't think Dina has sons anyway.)

As far as the spelling and typing errors and Enty go.....kettle, pot..pot,kettle

    :)

  11. ^^Ditto. I've never heard of her, and I don't think I've missed anything.

  12. I watch her show. I find the people on it horrific, yet entertaining. She claims to have a high success rate but the ones on TV usually don't end up working out.

She is NOT stupid, so this tipping thing is inexcusable. Blech.

  13. I don't know who she is either. Never heard of her.

  14. NO ONE on her show ever works out! I've yet to see a successful match.

I can't believe her numbers are so high. She is always telling the women they are fat and can't dress. She is in cut-offs or a mini-skirt when she tells them this stuff.

I watch her show because it makes me feel better about my life. Kind of like watching Cops.

She admitted in her book she "hates to write" and "can't count." So what subject was she good at in school? PE?

  15. Maybe the service was really bad? *L*

  16. Who the hell is this? Literally never heard her name.

Oh, and her lip injections look like shit.

  17. She's gross but super confident. Tough combo.

  18. If the service was bad then it isn't that big of a deal. I cannot STAND shitty, unfriendly servers who get mad when they don't get 20%. Please.

Patti's show is a train wreck, but I think it's insanely entertaining. The people who go on that show are absolutely ridiculous, I can't not watch.

And to whoever said that about the Manzo kids--they have been BY FAR the most normal guys that have gone on there! BY A MILE! :)

  19. Americans are TOUGH when it comes to tipping. Of course the really low minimum wage is a part of that. I had SHITTY service at a (Canadian) restaurant this weekend so I tipped $0.50 and marched out of their with my head held high.

  20. It was so nice to eat in countries where tipping is actually based on performance and you don't *have* to leave a tip for terrible service. If the service is terrible even in the US I will not tip (this has happened maybe 5 times in my life, once the waitress followed me out into the street and screamed at me, which was pretty indicative of how rude, neglectful, and sloppy she'd been the entire night). Otherwise I tip 15% or 20% if the service is good.

I really don't see what the issue is with her tipping 25$. Yes, she can afford to tip more and this might mean that she's a bit stingy. But she certainly tipped adequately - so where is the gossip in that?

  21. She needs to worry about tipping her aesthetician more than her servers. Just sayin'

  22. That's pretty stingy, but meh. For every person who tips like crap, there's a whole section full of people who will (most likely) tip accordingly.

And I'm not surprised she's cheap. I can almost smell it on her.

  23. Dang, even I tip 20% and I'm nobody with not even a 10th of the money she has. (Maybe that's why; I give it all to servers. :D ) Anyway, reading this paired with her recent faux pas against gay men makes me hope she'll drop off the radar soon.

  24. @Henriette - But yet, people still continue to pay her $25k-100k to be in her "club." I actually have seen some "matches" but the ones that really end in marriage are probably not reality show worthy. She likes to show the freaks!

  25. i really enjoy this show. patti thinks her opinions are the only ones that are correct, it makes for funny tv in the land of love... i'd leave more than a $25 tip, and i sure do not have her millions. i would think famous people would do something to leave a positive memory. like a bigtip &personal note saying, "hey mary, thanks for the great service tonight! we love coming here because of that. see you next time, patti :)" would that be hard?
