Stevie B Arrested While Performing Live

I have heard of singers being served before or after a concert. I have heard of singers and musicians being arrested before and after shows, but with the exception of some indecency things, I have never seen a singer arrested while actually in the middle of show. Well, now I have. Stevie B was arrested Friday night in Springfield, Mass. Apparently the one hit wonder ("Because I Love You - The Postman Song") from over 20 years ago owes $420K in child support. Needless to say the mom is a bit perturbed and the Massachusetts police were happy to help. What was Stevie B's number one concern when he was arrested? Whether he was going to be able to make another show scheduled for the next day. Nice that he cares about his kids. He is set to be arraigned today.

  4. Can't say I know any of his songs. Sounds like a real peach, though.

I HATE the fact that I didn't even click on that video and that goddamn song is already in my head.

    Ida! Long time, lady.

I remember this song more than I care to admit. He was really popular for a couple of years. And now he's a deadbeat. That's how it works, it seems. *SMH*

  7. Ha! I don't have sound at work, but Ida providing the second line totally jogged my memory. I DO remember this song. And...now it's stuck in my head. Thanks, Enty.

  8. This loser is barely a singer, or is a singer like I'm a singer. I cannot believe people still pay him to sing. I have never understood how this song with his horrible voice was popular.
Except for the consequences to the audience's ears, I hope he's forced to perform a bunch of shows and net next to nothing while an official collects the rest for his ex and kids.

  9. wait. how do you get behind $420k and just NOW get served/arrested?

  10. Pookie- it's pretty easy. I've got a couple deadbeats in my family. They owe close to $100k and when they get arrested, they just say they don't have the money to pay it, and the police send them on their merry way.

  11. Well, the kids are grown now -- the babymama just wants what's due her. He was worried about paying his crew and management.

  12. Damn, the 90s were a bad time for pop music.

  13. What about the senator from Illinois who is about $200,000 behind? Why don't they arrest him in the capital?

  14. I had to listen to the song to remember it...and then I couldn't look away. That video is EXQUISITE.

  15. Henriette -- is that one of the states where sitting legislators are immune from prosecution?

  16. Pomme--the guitarist was, ahem, serviced, not served, but it was definitely Manson who did the deed. Gotta say, though, after working for lawyers for a number of years now, the mental image of a process server making it past both venue & NIN security to the stage to serve papers on a band member really cracks me up... ;-)

  17. Ahh, brings me back to awkward slow dancing in elementary school. :)

He might need to make those concerts to pay the child support. And am I the only one wondering how this guy is actually still performing concerts?

  18. Maybe there were so few people in the crowd the PD didn't know it was a performance?

Sorry, the 90's is a musical void for me.

  19. I guess all that Spring Love he was crying for finally came back to him and bite him in the ass.

  20. HAHAHAAH Sweet sweet justice!

I LOVE how the child support people are becoming as crazy as the IRS!

I guess the only things certain in life are death, paying taxes, and paying child support. Cause if your ass doesnt you can be sure that even if you barricade yourself underground those child support peeps will tunnel their way down to ya!
