Alec Baldwin Calls A Woman A Bag Of Midol

Last night, Alec Baldwin got embroiled in a Twitter war. It appears from his Tweets that he was taking Joe Paterno's side and that he thought Joe Paterno's firing was wrong. A woman took issue with what Alec had to say and he went off on her calling her "a completely distorting bag of midol."

Nice. No wonder your kid hated you for so long. Just when you think Alec has redeemed himself and he is not a tool, he does something like this. Thanks Meghan.

  1. I'm sure Kim Basinger could tell you some even better stories.

  2. He and Asston should get together since the two are such idiots.

I really didn't read that he was feeling compassion for Paterno, just that what could've been a great story (Joe's story) is ending in a sex scandal. That the scandal itself was sad. I'm not usually sympathetic to The Bloviator but I think his intentions here were not to side with Joe.

  4. Wow, and here I was about to apologize for all my earlier male-bashing posts, and hop! Here comes Crazy Alex supporting JoPa AND attacking a woman also in the process.

It is douchebag galore here on a sad rainy day.

And yeah @breadalove: Kim Basinger could really tell a few bad ones. No wonder she fought hard so her daughter would not be around that short-tempered shithead.

He must Ashton's adoptive father figure.

  5. I follow him and he is usually so funny and mellow.
Dude has some serious anger issues I guess.

  6. He makes me side-eye Tina Fey. I think she's hilarious, loved her book, love her outlook on things (generally), but her friendship with him makes me wonder.

There's no way to play that off as a joke no one got. He's hateful and has no self control and seems to have a problem with women. None of his public blow-ups have involved men, which makes me think he bullies women only.

Actually, this brings me to one of many things pissing me off this week. There was outrage when he was recorded saying horrible things to his own daughter, but it didn't really mess up his career. He didn't get dropped from jobs because of it.

I think it's because people are more ok with a man saying hateful things about women than about men. Ratner got dropped from the Oscars, not for saying things that clearly display contempt for women, but for using a thoughtlessly crude slur about gay men. So it's a serious felony when it's about gay men, but not a predatory, demeaning attitude about women?

Not trying to start any wars about what's ok to call who, or who has it worse, that's just something that's been bugging me.

  7. ARGH, he's so talented, and then he has to do these stupid things that make me feel crappy for watching him on TV.

  8. I didn't think he was Team JoePa, but just saying that it was a sad situation. I don't believe that anyone could possibly feel compassion for Paterno. Ashton has admitted that he tweeted before knowing the facts.
I think the only asshole move by Alec was the name-calling. It's probably tough being attacked by thousands of people, but it's no excuse. He has a history of a short temper, and this is just proving that nothing's changed in that regard.

  9. I didn't find his original statement horrible but then he goes and shows us just what a tool he is by reducing dahlhalla to nothing but a lame, sexist stereotype.

Love how he is schooling people on empathy and then two seconds later snaps.

  10. @Feisty - Completely agree.

If say Madonna, same age, gets caught making some male-bashing slur, you can be sure that her movie would be boycotted.

Most of the Baldwin brothers, not only often got in trouble with law for violence, but had also gotten away with more female bashing then admissible. Starting to wonder what happened in their home, and how they were raised. As for Ms.Fey, she holds her own against a bully and does what is best for her show. Wonder is she is able to control his temper on set?

  11. Feisty, I heard they aren't friends. I know what you mean though, I would wonder about her if they were truly friends but I think they are probably just coworkers.

Jimmy Fallon on the other hand is her good friend, is someone I love and makes me think she does have good taste.

  12. I think I'm with the opinion that he wasn't defending Joe, just that it's pretty sad that a long career and formerly amazing legacy ends like this. However, his further jackass comments took any legitimacy out of his first comment.

  13. To be fair, the woman was kind of assuming that Baldwin had no sympathy for the victims, which was a giant leap. I don't blame him for telling her to quit twisting his words. As for "Midol", well, that's a new one I guess.

  14. he wasn;t defending JoeP. that is not what i get out of that at all. and the woman jumped down his throat. and its okay for her to call him an idiot? please. maybe people need to learn a little self control on the internet.

  15. @ Feisty - I agree, being nasty to a woman can sometimes just get you a high five in the good old boys club. The directors with the conquest list for example. Such bullshit. I bet Tina puts him on a pretty short leash as far as her show is concerned and they aren't best buds. I do love Alec though, but he needs some serious anger management. Kim would definitely have some tales.

  16. he didn't defend Paterno:he only wrote it's a sad end of career

  17. Does this mean we can describe Alec as a raging douchebag of Viagra?

    ReplyDelete
  18. He called it a SEX scandal and was a dick about it when called out on that. It's not a sex scandal and he's an insensitive asshole who focused solely on the Joe's part in this story being sad while saying nothing about the child victims.

And his response to that woman shows his true colors.

  19. So what? I don't see the big deal. Sticks and stones.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think he was making an observation on the obvious...someone else with a long and great career goes out admidst a scandle.

I agree with nunaurbiz...sticks and stones.

  21. The twitter message cannot reasonably be read to mean that Baldwin felt empathy for Paterno. Clearly, Baldwin is incapable of feeling empathy ... for anyone.

That being said, not much sympathy for people like Dahlhalla who purposefully misinterpret and mischaracterize other people.

  22. I have an issue with it being termed a "sex scandal" too. That just shows a willful ignorance of the entire matter. The Lewinsky/Clinton thing was a sex scandal. This is about a long standing patten of molestation and abuse. It's not about sex.

Alec Baldwin is infuriating. I start liking him again and then he does this crap. I don't think he was defending Paterno but I think he's too quick to tweet without really thinking.

  23. I'm with RQ...how is that defending Joe Pa? It IS a sad story. It's sad that someone who is pretty much idolized by Penn State is now going to be known as the fuckhead who got fired for not reporting sexual abuse (and deservedly so). That's a huge assumption. But what everyone else said--he isn't doing himself any favors for name calling.

  24. It's no newsflash that Baldwin is a douchebag. So yeah. Am I going to be dragged over the PC coals because I called him a douchebag? He can say whatever he wants, quite frankly. Whatever. "Bag of midol" isn't exactly nice, but I'll take it over the f word for gay and the n word for black any day of the week. As a lady, bag of midol does not offend me in the least. Commenters on this blog say way worse things than "bag of midol." Jeez.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was going to say that twitter spat reminds me of this blog. Heh.

  26. "Hollywood idiot" vs. "compulsively distorting bag of midol?" Tit for tat, I'd say, and totally OT.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Eh, I thought that "bag of midol" was kind of funny. Much better than a lot of other words he could have used to describe a woman.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I was the one that sent this into Enty, saying that you just gotta love Twitter.

I follow Alec and generally enjoy his exchanges. Most of his tweets on this topic (not inculded here) ARE a bit sympathetic of Paterno.

Does that mean he has no sympathy for the victims? Of course not. But he referred to Paterno's situation as "tragic" (his career), when other people pointed out that the real tragedy are the lives affected by the nasty pedophile/molester.

And calling a woman a "bag of Midol" is pretty lame for someone who normally comes up with far better quips.

  29. I follow him and have seen him get bitchy before, but it's funny. We are the polar opposite politically and I know I should probably hate him but he's just a man with flaws. He snaps at people but many have done worse. I find him to be very kind to his fans for the most part.

I have no problem with him calling the woman a bag of midol. I read it as it happened and chuckled.

  30. I will use "Bag of Midol" in the future.

But it still pisses me off when men think the only reason a woman is pissed off is because she has PMS.

  34. um, he is obviously not touting a "team joepa" banner. his response is also an intelligently hilarious retort to someone accusing him of being a child rape sympathizer.

i would think him a douche if he called her a "fat bitch", but he actually said something amusing.

    ReplyDelete
  35. She accused him of sympathizing with someone who enabled a child molestor and also an idiot.

He has every right to retort back.

    ReplyDelete
  36. He's insulted men too. He called one a man an old buzzard turd on a cow pie, another a human bottle opener and also an old stain. He called Paterno's decisions awful. I'm just looking at his twitter feed. He's also in recent history answered people's comments about his nasty message to his daughter. Who is the tool?
