Ali Fedotowsky Splits With Roberto Martinez

I think Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez were doomed from the start. I think the only reason they even managed to stay together 18 months is because they spent so much time apart. This was never going to work. I think for these Bachelor type relationships to work, one very important thing needs to happen. No wanting to be famous. Plain and simple. Both people need to want to live a normal life and give up their 15 minutes and not try to get it back. It just does not work. Ali still wanted to be famous and Roberto did not. Jake wanted to be famous. Well, so did Vienna, so I think that might have had more to do with two huge egos or Jake maybe wanting some alone time with someone who does not look like Vienna if you know what I mean. If you look back at the very few successful matches from the shows, both people have said lets stay out of the spotlight except maybe to get our wedding paid for. There are still going to be splits when both people give up the fame like Jillian Harris. I put that one down to her picking a cheating tool of a man and didn't realize it until it was too late. Ali and Roberto would like us to respect their privacy during this time. Uh huh. So does that mean Ali won't suddenly show herself on Beverly Hills streets hoping for a pap to catch her in her time of grief? Please.

  1. I agree. For the relationship to work, they cant be famewhores. Look at the first Bachelorette Trista Sutter. She and her husband are still together after 2 kids

  2. See I always thought Trista was a famewhore. I mean, she still pimp herself & her kids out for Us magazine spreads from time to time.

  3. Agree with Enty. The only reality show where the girl picked a man, and that actually worked, was that Simon Cowell produced "Cupid" show. Remember that one?

It was an attractive girl, Lisa Shannon, helped by 2 of her best girlfriends, who would try and select the best man for her. And it ended working out because the guy she picked was clearly absolutely in love with her (although at times weirdly possessive), And also, they had opted out of the 1$M prize, because it entitled them getting married on TV (I think they did get married a year later, and now have something like 2 kids).

Also must add, compared to the Bachelor, the Bachelorette is doing so much better on the picking front: by the time the finale on the Bachelor is viewed, both candidates have already moved on! At least with the Bachelorette they give their relationship an honest go.

Moral of the story: let the woman pick her man. Maybe we haven't changed much after all, men like to haunt, and fight over a woman. In my narrow-minded romantic view, pardon gentlemen, but that's how it's supposed to be: a real woman never fights other women for her man. Men fight over her.

Also, if you want women fighting to spend the night with you, there are many many countries where religion expects such things of women, and where it's acceptable for a man to have many wives, AND a harem.

arghhh, forgot that the US has that "Sister Wives" show. Never mind. It seems to work here as well.

  4. Bachelor bleh - the show that has produced the most couples (real couples that is) is Biggest Loser - I think there have been about 5 marriages already.

  6. I think after living w/ Ali for a while Roberto finally figured out what a bitch she is. That's what I think happened. LOL Can't stand her.

  7. Hmmm, what's the deal with Jake Enty? I'm translating your comment as he likes the fellas? Jake is so damn arrogant and creepy.

I thought Ali and Roberto had a real shot, but 18 months is nothing to be ashamed of. I've had marriages that didn't last that long. So good for them, but let's move on and please ABC don't bring either one back as a contestant.

  8. @Califblondy, I think what Enty means about Jake and Vienna is that Vienna is, how to put it? Oh yeah--fugly.

  9. she was on the local morning show here, SUPER annoying. she hasn't been on in awhile, but honestly she seemed really dumb. when they would send her out to do stories it would be to something along the lines of a dog surfing contest and she would have cards she used for prompts , "so, like the dogs? are they like going to like surf? in like the like ocean? what does a dog like about surfing". and she's crass.

the tv station she was on tweeted that these 2 ended their relationship yesterday, but then removed the link.

  10. I think Enty is right in that they have to not be seeking fame in order for it to work, but that's probably only 1% of contestants.
