Beckhams Moving To Paris

I don't think that David & Victoria Beckham make many mistakes, but this might be one. It has been five years since David & Victoria moved to Los Angeles. It was a very fast five years. Has it been that long since her reality show bombed? Her mistake was going straight for a network. If she had been on Bravo it probably would still be on the air. Apparently David is going to sign a new a deal with a Paris soccer team so the whole family is going to uproot itself and go to Paris. David thinks to make the Olympic team he needs to be playing for a really good European team. OK, but the Olympics are in 9 months, so you don't need to sign a multi-year contract. Victoria wants to be closer to the fashion world of Paris. I think her designs do pretty well now. I think the couple were really starting to grow on us here and now it will be pretty much starting from scratch if they ever decide to come back. Five years? Time moves fast.

  2. I liked her reality show. She has a really good personality, and it's a shame it didn't take off.

I think coming to LA was a mistake for them. They never fully took off, at least not at the fame levels they have in the rest of the world. Soccer in the US is considered backward by the rest of the world, so his fame naturally waned. And his skills waned as well. I'm not sure that his skills will improve in France, but their fame certainly will. Still, they need to prepare themselves for the inevitable end of his career and slow slide into 'where are they now'

  3. I watched a couple of episodes of her reality show & loved her. She is quite snarky & really funny.

Beckham was going to have a drop in salary if he stayed in L.A. And Paris is not a bad relocation spot. ;)

  4. and with the money to up and go where ever and when ever you desire, what different does it make where they move...they probably won't be there much.

Wasn't her reality show just one episode?

  6. I don't know, it makes a little sense. England and their friends & family are a lot closer to France then LA.

They keep their kids out of the public eye when possible so LA doesn't seem like the best place for them.

  7. @anita_mark - You are right. It was a one hour special that was supposed to be six episodes, had it been picked up.

  8. I find her interesting to watch on tv rather than looking at photos of her. She's truly bizarre and damaged all at the same time.

  9. Are they moving there for tax reasons? If they need to get back to England it's just an hour away.

  10. Agree with Seachica.

I also watched a bit of her show, and find it hilarious the first time she met up with those Hollywood wives (with the effed faces, like you wouldn't believe).

I think it's good that they're moving to Paris. Beckham has fulfilled his contract with LA Galaxy, and in the past 5 years, soccer had been getting more and more coverage.

I mean how many had started watching the FIFA World Cups?

  12. Who would pick L.A. over Paris? Paris sounds awesome! She wants to get into fashion and it is the capitol. I would have moved too.

  13. What about the baby girl? I never thought it was anyones but theirs..Did I miss something?

That being said Posh is workng towards being the bread winner as David is well aware that athletes have a limited shelf life. They both said something to that effect recently.

I like Posh. She doesn't pretend to be the smartest person in the world, acknowledged that she was a barely-average singer, and has a sense of humor. She's like a younger Anna Wintour, without the holier-than-thou attitude. She can be quite charming.

Moving back to Europe will extend Becks' career and Posh will be in the fashion epicenter. If they don't like it, they'll move back to London. Seems like a solid plan to me.

  16. Well, I love the Beckhams. Hope Paris treats them well. Makes sense to me, actually. I would take Paris over La La Land any day.

  18. Come on Becks, back to the UK. If you want a suggestion for a new team just ask!

I do love them, and the work Becks does for kids is super.

  20. He uprooted his family before to play for Real Madrid. And there's no such a thing as a "Paris soccer team".
