Did Demi Lovato Call Hilary Duff And Raven Simone Fat?

Demi Lovato took to her Twitter to complain about an eating disorder joke that she heard on Disney. Hmm, I think someone must have told her about it because I don't see Demi Lovato sitting around watching episodes of Shake It Up. Anyway, in one episode, a character says, "I could just eat you up, well if I ate." Demi then Tweeted, "I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress' from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about that very disease. #nice."

She makes a good point and Disney pulled that episode and one after it so I guess it must have an eating joke in it too. Demi could not stop herself though and then said the following about Hilary Duff and Raven Simone.

"And is it just me or are the actress' getting THINNER AND THINNER.... I miss the days of RAVEN, and LIZZIE MCGUIRE." Umm, did she just call them fat? Saying they were not thin? It kind of seems that way.

I took it as meaning she misses the days of healthy well-rounded celebrities and is concerned about all the skinniness going on.

  2. I don't feel she called them fat, but they definitely didn't look like they belonged on an Ana site.

  3. Enty, she was celebrating women who have meat on their bones. It was a compliment. I agree with her. I find it really difficult to watch all the actors and actresses get skinnier and skinnier. I notice they are dressing Rose Byrne differently on this season of Damages, and I think it is to cover up her further weight loss.

  4. I agree.... she was just complimenting them stating their normal weight rather them being too skinny and promoting unhealthy standards.

It is just simply impossible to keep that kind of physique up unless you aren't eating much or spending most of your time exercising which the majority of people don't.

Anyways to leave on a happy note, Happy Holidays Enty and everyone!! =)

  5. Yeah, why on earth would you say that she called them fat? She simply said that they were healthy looking.

I have no idea if she is right or not, or if Disney has always had rather skinny starlets. But, on the other hand, aren't many girls (pre-teens) that age naturally skinny? I don't want to bodysnark on them either.

  6. I think she was saying they look normal and healthy, as opposed to many stick-skinny actresses.

  7. Actually a lot of pre-teens are chubby, it's affectionately called baby fat even though they are far from being babies. It would not be the first time Disney has spread around bad feelings for women. I'm really starting to wonder about that company.

  8. "lost" one of their actresses to an eating disorder? so that would be her. 1) as if they care about 1 girl on a kid's show. 2) really, you're sticking w/ the eating disorder story? own it or shut up.

  9. So, Enty, women are either skinny or fat? There's no normal?

  10. Snarky much? Why does this post sound like it was written by a PMSsy woman?
Agree with all above, she didn't call them fat, she misses the days of normal looking females, you know, the ones who didn't look like lollipop heads?

  11. I also didn't think she called anyone fat, only saying she missed the days of normal, healthy looking girls.

  12. I agree with everyone above, except "Me" who just seems bitter about something...Jeez lighten up

  13. no she only says Lizzie's and Raven's actresses were healthy

  14. I agree, she was stating they were not stick thin.

I still wish she'd admit she had a fucking cocaine problem, and THAT is the main reason she was in rehab.

  15. I agree with "Me". Does Demi seriously expect a television writer to think, "I better not write this joke because it might hurt Demi Lovato's feelings"? Hollywood's a business, and if you aren't making money for someone (which she isn't right now, far as I know), they really don't care if you're insulted.

I don't think Demi was really calling Hillary or Raven fat, though.

  16. I think her point was that, back when those shows were current, actresses weren't quite as scary skinny as they tend to be now, so I didn't see it as sniping at Raven or Hilary. (Also, isn't it quite possible she had an eating disorder along w/her cocaine problem? The two do seem to go hand-in-hand a lot in showbiz, and I can see being willing to talk about one but not the other.)

I hate to be another one jumping on the bandwagon, but there's definitely a difference in tone re: the writing of this blog--it seems as if Enty/whoever's writing it now tends to automatically assume the worst about things people say in interviews/what they're doing/etc. I've read the Allure interviews that he's quoted from, and usually the quote mentioned doesn't sound nearly as bad in the context of the entire interview. (Example: I don't think Rooney Mara was dissing L&O:SVU, but was saying she didn't get the storyline of that particular episode she was in, because beating up fat people and being sodomized in return didn't seem like something anyone would actually do.) Don't get me wrong--I'm not planning on going anywhere--but the overall tone is definitely harsher than it was even a couple of years, esp. in regards to women, and it bothers me a lot.

  17. @Robin: I totally agree. I've noticed it before and it took me awhile to finally comment. I suspect the change is from a male to a female based on tone. And often the accusations they make are based on judgment and jumping to conclusions. I won't go anywhere but I'm happy with what I'm reading.

  18. Not happy I meant to type.

  19. If it's true that the actress Disney "lost" she's referring to is herself, I find her commentary kind of weird and self-centered. She does have a point about the larger issue of actresses being too skinny these days, and I suppose that's what's important. But the way she went about making that point makes her seem pretty self-obsessed, imo.

  20. I usually say horribly mean things about Demi Lovato when Enty publishes stories about her attacking people, having eating disorders or substance abuse problems, or sleeping with D-list losers. But it's Christmas, and I'll just say Merry Christmas, Boy George.

  22. Or is that Pete Burns from Dead or Alive? Couldn't they find a photo of Demi Lovato?

  23. is this post for real? this is british tabloid bilge enty, i used to think making up scandals from little substance was beyond you. you're losing so many readers, i'm actually really saddened by this.

  24. Demi makes a valid point.

  25. She did not call them fat! She makes a valid point that the actresses in Disney are getting thinner and thinner and that raven and Lizzie were portrayed by much healthier looking actresses.

has Demi seen Raven's slim body lately? oh, that's right...

  27. She was just saying they were healthy looking girls, gosh stop making a big deal of this, Demin was making a very good point.

Has anybody else noticed that many of the Disney characters are all turning into wannabe celebs

1.the girls on 'shake it up' are on a tv show.
    2. Hannah montanna the popstar
3.Sonny with a chance, the characters are on a tv show.
4.Sharpay from highschool musical, a superficial, super rich daddies girl who goes to newyork to become an actress.

No wonder kids are so obsessed with fame, Disney is digusting and disturbing on so many levels.

  28. Yeah, I think that's a little unfair. She's saying they weren't anorexic and they were better body role models than the girls on tv now. You're kind of feeding into this whole idea by stirring it up to make it seem like she's calling them fat. She only said they weren't "thinner and thinner" and I don't think that's so bad.

  29. Demz needs to do something about Taylor Swift, there are rumors that she is not eating and losing weight because of all the breakups she had.

DEMI invite Ms Swift over and FEED HER, put her in a high chair with a bib and spoon feed her and you can een burp her. Do that with your BFF selena too.
