Four For Friday - The Swingers
A few years ago, this married couple went through a very rough patch in their marriage. At the time she was just about an A list movie actress who would never touch television. Coming off a huge franchise, she thought she was better than she actually was and started having fun on the side. Her husband was doing the same though. The two decided to invite over their respective other favorites for a couples weekend. The first celebrity couple to join in also consisted of an A list movie actress who has sniffed television but nothing more than that. Her relationship actually crumbled because her significant other started hanging out with one of the women he had swapped with. Another celebrity couple that joined in consisted of a married couple that had a former A list television actress who has never really done any movies and her wacky husband who has done a little of both. That celebrity couple broke off at one point to do their own thing with a celebrity couple who is married but let on to the world they are just engaged. She is A very strong B list movie actress from some very popular movies and her husband who just does television. The only rules are no phones or cameras and be willing to getting watched by everyone else. The wacky husband loved to be watched.
The wacky husband has to be David Arquette, no?

ReplyDeletenunaurbiz- except that Courtney has done movies....but I thought the same thing. I was thinking the couple that ended up splitting cause he was cheating would be Kate Winslet.

4 can't be kristen bell and dax shepherd because she's more known for her better tv roll as veronica mars than her less stellar movies. dax has done more than just tv too.

Couple #2: A list movie actress who had sniffed TV, her and husband broke up because he started hanging w one of the girls they swapped with.
Couple #3: had A list TV actress who hadn't really done movies, wacky husband, they broke up at one point to do their own thing with couple #4. Sounds like they're together now too but had separated at one point, right?
Couple #4: Married but led on they were engaged. She's a strong B list movie actress whose done some popular movies, he's only TV.

Having said that I have zero idea on these guesses most the time. I wait for the smart ones in this group to tell me.

Megan Fox can't be part of couple #1. She started on TV.
ReplyDeleteJust a thought, it doesn't say that the husband in couple #1 is famous. Also, it says the actress wouldn't touch television -- not that she hasn't. Someone like CZJ has stared in film series (Zorro, Ocean's 12) but started in TV. I can't imagine her ever going back that way. However, I don't think this is her and Michael Douglas.
Couple #2: Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend
Charlize had a recurring role briefly on the third season of Arrested Development.
Couple #3: Jenna and Bodhi Elfman
He got her into CoS. Does that count as wacky? Also, if the actor were someone with name recognition, Enty would have given him a letter rating.

Patricia Arquette was known for movies before she did TV -- Flirting with Disaster, True Romance, Bringing out the Dead, and Lost Highway.
ReplyDeleteI read the first couple as Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, the huge franchise being Iron Man. And while she has since done TV with Glee, it says "at the time... she would never touch television." And we know Chris cheated with Kate Bosworth, so maybe she was part of the second couple who had split because her sig other had cheated. After that, no idea.

I think Dax & K.Bell are couple #3, not #4. They're openly married. And K.Bell does tv and Dax does movies, so they make no sense for #4.

ReplyDeleteOh GAWD, for one awful second I think both Patricia Arquette and David Arquette were involved somehow. I now know that's not the case, and I'm back to being just confused, instead of confused and horrified.
ReplyDeleteFWIW, someone who is "just about an A list movie actress" probably hadn't already won an Oscar "at the time." Sounds like somebody who was on the way up then, on the cusp of mega-stardom. (Of course, that Kate Winslet thing will always cast doubt on how we judge what list people are in.)

Julia Roberts has already been an A list, as has Charlize Theron. I think it's a new comer who is arrogant and snobby and thinks she's better than she is. Charlize is an excellent actress...and Julia was already an A+ list. I think #1 is Megan Fox. She may have done TV when she was starting out, but she won't touch TV now and thinks she's better than she is.
ReplyDeleteI like Mookie's guess...I think the thread that isn't being said is the Scientology angle and that means Demi & Ashton is out and Jenna Elfman and whoever she's married too. I know that Courtney flirted with Scientology when she was trying for the 600th time to quit her coke habit.
