Dennis Quaid's Wife Files For Divorce - His Reps Feel Like Idiots

Yesterday morning, Dennis Quaid's reps were releasing statements that everything was great in Dennis' marriage and that the whole cheating on his wife on Valentine's Day was just friends hanging out and all lies. A few hours later, Dennis' wife filed for divorce. Hello PR idiots. They must have known and then they come out and say what they did and no one will ever believe a word they say anymore. So, when they say that the divorce is great and everyone is happy and a settlement agreement has already been reached you wonder if that is true or they are just making up more lies.

Look, ladies. I know you think Dennis is good looking for an older guy and he is. The thing is he knows it and has never been faithful. Ever. You marry him then you are marrying everyone he wants to date. At least Randy Quaid, for all his out thereness seems to be pretty faithful. Of course that could also be that his wife will kill him. Seriously. Doesn't she seem like the kind of person who would be more than happy to cut off body parts or kill you if you cheat?

  1. I loved him back in the day - especially when he was in The Big Easy.

  2. I just remember him being the dad in the remake of the parent trap with Lindsay Lohan.

  3. he's going to end up old and alone, whatever.

  4. They both look so plastic in that photo! Like wax figures!

  5. Meg Ryan was made out to be the monster when she cheated on him. If it's true that he's never been faithful, then I feel bad for all the shit she had to take at that time.

To cheat on your wife so obviously on Valentine's Day - what a major dick.

  6. Are there any actors or actresses who don't cheat? I don't know too many "regular" people who don't, so I imagine it's even more difficult to stay faithful when temptation is thrown at you from every direction. Even serial killers have women throwing themselves at them, so can you can imagine what it's like for a movie star or even plain 'ol celebrity? Whenever I want to judge "Hollywood", I wonder how many average people would cheat if given more opportunity. Hell, they cheat without much opportunity as it is.

  7. Like I said yesterday, I hate hypocrites. He was all over religious circuits after his newborn twins survived being overdosed on heparin, talking about how his faith got him through and is his motivating factor in life now. When he was in the movie Soul Surfer, he talked about how much the role meant to him as a father and a Christian. So, um, that faith doesn't motivate you to be faithful to the one you pledged your life to? Huh.

    Scum.

People can do what they are going to do. But if they are going to keep talking about and be "open about" their faith, they should LIVE it. If they aren't going to live what they say they believe, then they should shut up about it. Hypocrisy taints the message.

  8. madlyb: The line I always hear is "a man is as faithful as his options"--basically, if he can manage to attract someone "better" than the woman he already has, then he'll go for it. (Unless, of course, he's a genuinely moral man who wouldn't do that to his partner, but I don't know that there are that many of those out there anymore.) It sounds horribly cynical, but there does seem to be a lot of truth to it. (Between that line of thinking & my self-esteem issues, it's not surprising I'm still single at my age...)

  9. When I read this story I wondered, "Whatever happened to Randy and Evi?" Are they still up in Canada, avoiding the "star whackers?" Maybe the Canadians can give us an update if they know anything...

  10. Fun fact: Dennis and Meg were married on Feb. 14, 1991. What's up with this guy and Valentine's Day?

  11. Really? I did not know that he was such a compulsive cheater! This is giving me the sads.

@Robin, there ARE moral men out there; my husband is one of them. He would NEVER cheat, simply incapable of it. But I held out till 47 to meet a man like him. :-)

  12. OK, I'm waiting for all the same contempt to be thrown at him that everyone throws at female sleep-arounds like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. Anybody? Any mentions about how he's likely to be a walking Petri dish, given all his conquests?

I know someone he tried to cheat with many years ago in Tennessee. Not by any means a knockout, but nearby and available. He wanted her and a friend to dress up like French maids. She said no. I don't think she regrets it.

  13. @Robin, my husband is faithful, it is not in his nature to cheat and he can't lie to save himself, not that he has tried to lie very often. He is a wonderful man. We met on a blind date. They are out there.

  14. I hope Meg Ryan is sitting back and enjoying all this. I just hope the twins don't get used as battering rams to punish each other.

  15. I feel so badly for Kimberly. She is a total sweetheart -and yes, I've met them both. My one major celeb encounter. I attended the wedding of her best friend (my family was related to the groom). He acted as if he could hardly stand to be there amongst the "little people". I stood next to him at the bar getting a drink and he couldn't be bothered to exchange even a hello. Noone was bothering him, he just seemed bored. Maybe because it was a classy affair and no one was doing lines off the bar or propositioning him in the back room? His wife on the other hand, was super sweet. I talked to her for about 30 minutes in the ladies room and she talked about her kids and stuff like any normal person would. Very very nice, very sweet, but I'm glad she is not putting up with his crap. I hope she takes him to the cleaners.

  18. Off topic:

Doesn't he have a SERIOUS eating disorder?

  19. @nolachickee My feeling exactly.

  20. Poor Meg.

Dennis has always reminded me of the most popular boy in school - aged but not grown up.

I imagine most actors/actresses to be like this actually.

  21. I don't think he is good looking at all. He hasn't aged well.

  22. I always felt like Meg Ryan got a raw deal. She stuck by him through all of his addiction problems, & I've heard about him being a huge cheater for years. She decided to get hers & got slammed for it. I'm not saying it's right, I felt badly that she got so much shit for it since he wasn't this faithful guy who was pining away for her that she was screwing over. She got to bang Russell Crowe in his prime though so I can't feel too badly for her.

  23. I have a different view of Dennis and it is favorable. I first met him in 2000, when he was married to Meg. This was JUST before she left him. I would see any movie that she was in. I thought she was incredible. Then I happened to see some people approach her and she about lost it! I had never seen someone in the spotlight come across so badly in my life. Dennis just mouthed "I'm sorry..." and shrugged his shoulders. Granted, their son Jack was w/them, but I lost all respect for her that day. Dennis was skinnier than she was (looked like he was on coke), but so nice in comparison.

Fast forward 11 years and I went to a bar and had some guys start talking to me as soon as I walked in. This stranger to my right asked them to knock it off and they quickly left me alone. He left shortly thereafter, and the bartender asked if I knew who that was. I hadn't been paying any attention, but it was Dennis Quaid. I saw him quite frequently after that and he was always gracious and charming and always a perfect gentleman. I didn't see the wife that much, but he was out w/the younger son quite frequently. That little boy was adorable and very active, but cute as can be. If he wasn't w/the little boy, he was normally alone. I never saw him w/other women and I never saw him overtly flirting. He was just a nice, regular guy. So, reading this is quite sad. I truly thought he was happily married and a good guy. However, this is Hollywood...
