There's something to be said for gals—gay and straight—who have very religious upbringings. When it comes to sex, they tend to lean heavily in one direction or the other. Usually nothing vanilla or boring between the sheets with belting, church-going gals who call Jesus their BFF!
Certainly is the case with hugely talented star Sissi Sparkle, who has everybody wondering lately...
"Has she ever had a girlfriend?" many are starting to ask, since fans are just now (stupidly) waking up to the fact that Sissi never really has had much of a man in her life—apart from some silly flirtations here and there.
True, there was the one guy a long time ago, but, he was just a cover-up, people!
But recently, Sissi's been in the news in a pretty major way. She's big on the celeb radar again—very big.
So it's no wonder folks are starting to wonder—in some cases, not for the first time—where the hell is the man in this multitalented powerhouse's existence?

ReplyDeleteIf it is Whitney, it helps to explain the terms of the will. She left everything to her children. Just so happens Bobbi Kristina turned out to be an only child. Nothing to Bobby. That made me go "Huh?" when I read it the other day. But if what they had was an arrangement, he already got paid.

ReplyDelete@nolachickee - I remember reading a blind item many, many years ago about an A List couple who would never divorce, because she was gay, an addict and he had film of her with other women and both of them using. This was back in the '90's, I think, and I read it in "The Enquirer" before I had internet. I know now it was Whitney and Bobby, but that is so sad. I wonder if she would've been better off with the assistant she was supposedly in love with in her early days.

That was when she and Bobby were supposed to be the love of each other's lives and over the moon for each other. Or so we were lead to believe. Why wouldn't, at that time, he be in her will? That's what made me wonder. Nothing I've read said that she ever went in and changed the will, say after the divorce. It's been that way since 1993.

ReplyDelete@ Nolachickie: The will was made when Whitney was STILL pregnant with Bobbi Christina; of coarse she would phrase it as child(ren) instead of child to cover any possible future children without the need to update her will. As far as the will not including Bobby, no big deal to me. He had plenty of money at the time and didn't need hers. I can understand her wanting to protect her baby and not including a husband that didn't need money.
Ted C does say that there was one serious man in her life, albeit that it was a cover-up. There are plenty of documented cases of gay people getting married and having children to try to be straight. Throw in religious beliefs and upbringing and it makes it more likely. Whitney and Bobby B seemed like fellow addicts in a co-dependent relationship more than anything else.

ReplyDeleteYou can't disinherit a current spouse through a will; statutes permit the surviving spouse to elect a certain amount (a "spousal share") over the share (or no share) from the will, which in my state is something like 1/3 of the estate. Maybe you could have a contract prohibiting the spouse to claim his or her spousal share, but I don't know if that would be enforceable, since it would be against public policy. The whole idea of the spousal share was to prevent rich men from disinheriting their wives, so contracting the right away would defeat that purpose.
ReplyDeleteBut disinheriting an ex-spouse, well, that's to be expected. It's been three years since my wife of 20 years and I split, and we are just getting around to writing new wills that (presumably) leave everything evenly to our kids, rather than each other. I suppose that could change if one of us were in a relationship, but that hasn't happened. I wouldn't expect her will to leave anything to me, and I don't think she would expect mine to leave anything to her.
Queen Latifah just has a movie out with Dolly, and has a singing-competition show this summer with Gloria Estefan.

And while I think Kelly is mad talented, I don't think of her as multi-talented in the sense of J-Hud or Ms. Owens.
It makes sense if it were Whitney, I lived in Atlanta for a long time and it was common knowledge she was gay and he slept with anything that moved. A friend of mine, her father delivered babies in Atlanta and she said everytime a girl came in without a husband, they would take bets to see if he would show up with flowers for the mom. Apparently it happened on a regular basis.

chenowith seems to fit, but I wouldn't think a new tv show is "big on celeb radar again - very big" (especially when I'm not really sure how much she was ever on the celebrity radar...)
