Terra Nova Cancelled

I did not watch Terra Nova this year simply because I knew the show would be canceled and I am proud of my decision. Plus, if it was a hit I could go back and watch it on DVD or On Demand so why bother. It is that kind of thinking that gets shows canceled. The show looked good but I heard that test audiences had hated it and they kept making changes to the show and kept delaying it and that is never a good sign. If you are a fan of the show, there will be no second season on Fox, but maybe some network will be willing to pick up the tab and move it. Now, I will probably go watch the season and love it and come on here and rant about how good shows are always taken off the air.

  1. The concept was interesting but it never got real good for me. The only thing I liked about it was it was a prime time show we could watch with our 8-year-old. He will be seriously bummer if I tell him. It has been on hiatus so long, I might not mention it.

  2. I liked Terra Nova it started off slow and for only 13 episodes it had a few filler episodes. That should only happen when there is a 22 or 24 episode season. The trade for 13 hours is your supposed to get 13 GREAT hours.

It did get much better toward the end. I was hoping they would give it another season to stay in bed with Steven Speilberg. It made Fox money, just not enough money and the production costs were pretty high with the CGI. Which was kinda crappy at times.

20th Century is shopping it around. Would make a good fit on cable and could make it more adult.

  5. I liked it - agreed started off slow but did pick up. Hopefully another network will pick it up.

  6. I liked the premise, but the acting and the writing were terrible. The family was one big cliche. You might get away with those types of characters in a two hour movie, but not an ongoing TV show. Other TV writers have set the bar too high.

  8. Ms Cool & others, I completely agree! It wasn't that great, but it was a show my 11-year-old daughter and I could watch together! There are VERY few shows on prime time that are appropriate for that age group! Argh, I don't want to tell her it's not coming back :-(

  10. I loved the concept initially, however the show really lost me when it moved into Dawson's Creek territory instead of maintaining the sci-fi aspect.

I honestly expected better out of Speilberg.

  12. I enjoyed it. It needed better writing and some patience from Fox. But, of course, this is Fox we're talking about.

I love good sci-fi and will tolerate even medium level sci-fi.

  14. I also loved this show -- there were some goodlooking characters!

But I wondered sometimes why the colony consisted of: a bar, another bar, a third bar, a restaurant, a hospital, and probably another bar. I mean, that's a lot of bars.

  15. I never watch a new Fox series. I learned my lesson with Firefly. Fuckers. I will always hate Fox for that.
