A Flight Attendant Out Of Control

This American eagle flight attendant was drunk and yelling at passengers during a five hour weather delay. Love cell phone video cameras.

  2. I didn't hear them say he was drunk anywhere. I think he is just a cranky dude yelling at people.

  3. If that's flying off the handle then they'd hate to see me upset. Listen at all those people heckling him. People make me sick sometimes. I'm sick of this "victim" sensationalism bullshit.

  4. In the video still above, the flight attendant looks like the guy from Little Britain.

  5. After seeing the 20/20 segment on flight attendants, I'm surprised there aren't more incidents.

  6. I'm not sure what the big deal is based on the video clips shown in the news report. I also think crazy/beautiful has made an excellent point.

  7. He's was unprofessional for sure but imagine all these angry assholes yelling at you about something out of your control.. hope they all enjoyed paying for hotels since due to weather delays, the airline isn't responsible.

I guess I'm in the minority -- I think he should be fired for the "if you have the balls" comment. Plus, where does he get off saying that "once the door closes, I don't want to hear anything?" What is he, a teacher or a parent, demanding silence> What a jerk.

My sympathies lie with the passengers, who actually paid for this. They were almost three hours late boarding, then had to sit on the tarmac in a crowded plane for 40 minutes (with no A/C in June) waiting to take off, then they had to turn the plane around, offloaded everyone, refueled, and then reboarded. Then they STILL had to wait to take off. Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed off as a passenger, too.

  9. I think all parties behaved badly - and if I were on that plane, I probably would have been one of them. Problem was with the airline scheduling. Captain couldn't fix it.
Attendant couldn't fix it. The only person to get mad at was the attendant because he was the only one in the cabin. Should he get reprimanded? It's a toss up.

  10. I'm with tex. This is his job; who is he to lose it? Get ahold of yourself, man! Those passengers should get refund and free flight, and Jose shld be canned What if it was a real emergency?? Is that how he is going to react????!!!

  11. i really dont see the problem. He was unprofessional, yes, but imagine if you were him with people yelling at you for something beyond your control. I think he handled himself way better than most would in the same situation. He should be reprimanded for being unprofessional, but to be fired would be ridiculous. I'm sure he would react differently in an emergency where his primary directive is to help the clients off of the plane safely, then in a 5 hour delay when all passengers are using him as a verbal punching bag.

  12. I agree - he's not really abusive and 40 minutes on the tarmac is nothing. Flying these days isn't fun - there have been cases where flight attendants were in the wrong (e.g. the guy who slid down the emergency chute) but I don't think this is one of those cases.

  13. A few passengers have emailed the airline to say the passengers were the rude ones and had been heckling and harrassing him incessantly.

That's why I hate camera phones. They take one side. And this one clip doesn't show everything, just what some fucknut decided to record.

  15. Clearly, I/we did not have all the info. But he still did not deport himself professionally.

Nope. I am still on the side of the passengers. They pay the airline for a service, they should be able to expect that service to be delivered in a timely, polite, and safe manner. I don't think it's fair to unload on a flight attendant who doesn't have any control over the situation, of course, but frankly it's part of his job to deal with irate passengers. And he failed to do that. I'd be pretty pissed, too, if I had forked over $500 or whatever for a seat only to be treated like shit by both the airline and Jose. He can suck it.
