No One Is Watching RH-NYC

The new additions to the Real Housewives of New York are not working at all and ratings are down 20% from last year. I don't think it is so much about New York as it is the fact there are so many Housewives shows to keep track of whether it be an original or one of the spin-offs. As much as Bravo would probably like it, people are not going to watch one group of people in every possible combination every night all night. Well, except for the Jersey Shore group. But the people who watch the shows are all drunk or stoned and are convinced they have been watching one long episode for the past three years that never ends. Trying to introduce new characters into the show is just too hard. It's easier to go with what's familiar. It's why people never leave their jobs even if they are unhappy. Better to stay with what's familiar then to move on and take a chance and not know what is going to happen.

  1. They need a Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

  3. Or RH of like...Morgantown, WV.

People are just over this crap now. Bravo needs a new formula.

  4. @Agent**It, lmao, great idea! Now that I would watch :)

  5. This is one of the few RHO shows I watched but haven't bothered this season with all the new characters. I liked it with Jill Zarin, Bethany, crazy-ass Kelly and that blond lady & her husband (Alex & Simon?). Then it was pretty entertaining.

  6. I will watch the housewives of any freaking city. I just can't help myself. I have issues, I know.

  7. Me too, nolachickee, I guess we're drunk or stoned?

Personally, I like the new additions.

  8. ^^ what hunter said. I still watch RHONJ, though, but that's it.

And I'm never drunk or stoned when I watch. I'm not sure why Enty felt the need to insult those of us who watch like that. :-/

  9. I absolutely love this season and the new girls. I think Aviva is going to bring some good dramz.

  10. I'm a housewives girl too, but I have up on NY a few yrs ago. There's something off about them that is completely unappealing to me.

  11. Enty was saying that the people who watch the Jersey Shore shows are drunk/stoned enough to not notice they're watching a full night of that group. He wasn't talking about the Real Housewives, I think he's made it pretty clear he's a big fan over time.

I still watched and I think this new group of women can be interesting, but it's hard to reboot partially, this far into the game.

  12. I never watched any of the RH shows. Which is odd, considering how much garbage TV I've watched over the years...:)

  13. NHoNY has been painful to watch this season. It seems forced and cracked out. Ramona should have been canned last year, in lieu of many that brought real entertainment value to this show. (Granted, I'm sure insurance waivers couldn't be kept on Kelly just falling completely off the cliff sooner or later.)

I hate to say it, but Bethanney was the only participant who offered a pretty hilarious running commentary on prior seasons. Once she left, the show ran downhill fast.

    And, I miss Jill Zarin.

  14. Unknown, I agree with you about Bethanny, even though she's really unlikable on her own show.

  15. I am a HUGE RHOC and RHNJ- NY doesn't do it for me, never has. Atlanta is whack.

I am always lit up watching my shows!

  16. If no one watches it why are you posting about it?

  17. i've never seen any of these housewife shows. women are bitches. The end.

  18. I was surprised/happy they fired the bad guys and kept the fun crazy ones — what show does that?! "In yo FACE!" ...but now they don't have any bad eggs to root against. I'm watching just to see if Luanne gets hives having to hang out with the others, or if she'll bust a rhyme (LMAO) again. SING, LUANNE!

  19. I hated Jill the pig beast and Kelly cray cray, but even I was mystified as to why they were fired and these boring bitches were brought on. But then again I really didn't want to see a rehash of Jill whining and LuAnn getting her back for no reason other than she hates Ramona. And their shameless bullying of Alex. Even if you thought Alex and Simon were weird, they added a certain WTF factor to the show with their bizarre house, style, and relationship. But Jill and LuAnn are the most pathetic display of all the RH with their high school girl bully mean girl act. LuAnn has already proved that nothing has changed with her either. Her ridiculous ploy at wanting a baby at 47 is frankly embarrassing too. All the show has right now is Sonja the oblivious broke whore and Ramona the homophobic drunk.

  20. I watch it. And now that I'm living in California, I should just go to califblondy's house and watch it with her; we seem to tune in to a lot of the same trash.

I like Aviva, which I guess means by season's end I'll be loathing her. I don't like the one with the flared nostrils (the one who got into it with Ramona), and the other one hasn't made an impact yet.

  21. I'm enjoying all the comments! I'm also a NY housewives fan but yeah, it's not the same this year. The characters aren't meshing or something. It seems so forced. Aviva is growing on me. I'm going to continue to watch though because I really really hope that someone can get that pain in the ass LuAnn off her high horse once and for all. She's beautiful on the outside but I cannot stand her and that Inspector Clouseau/David Schwimmer lookalike beau.

  22. Yes I love all HW's trash TV. I am usually drinking some wine and unwinding in the evening as my guilty pleasure. So ya, that is me! I have never watch Jersey Shore though.

  23. I love the Real Housewives Orange County, Beverly Hills, New Jersey and Atlanta. I tried this season with New York and so far it's just not doing it for me.

Loved last nights OC episode, next weeks looks like a doozy :)

  24. I've had a hard time watching since Bethenny left. She was soooo good when she was on RHNY. I'm kind of into the Beverly Hills' girls, but I'm not a regular watcher. My husband always wants to hang out or watch tv together at night and these types of shows are best enjoyed sans husband, in my opinion.

  25. I watch RHO Vancouver for pure curiosity and apparently they announced it's the highest rated RH series ever.

I mostly just love to hate on Jody and Mia. the WORST.

  26. NYC is a dead franchise as is. They should have scrapped everyone as much as I love a Ramoment..that woman is bat shit craxy. But they should have done a RHo Manhattan and got some Sex and the City types together -

They need to do a RHO

    Las Vegas
    San Diego
    Chicago
    Dallas

  27. The RHOOC is just getting good and there is only one more show to go. The reunion should be a great showdown.

Bring back Jill Zarin. She knows how to bring the drama and stir up the pot. The current crew of wives are not a good fit.

  28. ::raises hand::

I'm watching and I really like the new housewives. We needed a new group after last season.

I think after OC ends in the next couple of weeks it will pick up. New Jersey is a train wreck --and NY started without a lot of promotion so right now there are three running at the same time.

The overlap of shows is a bit much, but please leave Jill Zarin off of RHONY. She lives above Bed Bath and Beyond for god's sake. Aviva is going to work out to be clearly nuts. Carole seems to be a player. Ramona is crazy. LuAnn is a poser, and if only Bethenny were back in the mix it would be awesome!

WOW I wasn't even aware the NYC housewives seasons started !! So I guess I'm one of the 20% who hasn't watched ! Hmmm... I'm kind of over the NYC housewives,, can't stand that crazy bitch Ramona. Please let me know if one of the other wives just beats the hell out of her..that episode I would love to see !!

  31. I will watch New York until it's cancelled. I may be bored but I can't look away. I did just realize why this season feels so different. The new girls have seen every episode, they know about the staged cat fights and seem to have formed a pact as the new girls to not join in the highschool catty behavior because they were like us, watching and going omg why are they acting like children? So they are there to prove that it's possible not to get sucked into the drama. =boring. Dull. Yes I enjoy watching successful women on tv and maybe LuAnne is just horrible at this point (can you be called successful bc of a marriage?) So that's it. Bravo shouldn't add to an old cast but completely recast it.

  32. the problem with this show is that the women are too old. don't get me wrong, but when they first announced that there would be an NY spin off years ago, i figured they'd be following at least 30 somethings in ny. i mean its a vibrate city, i personally don't wanna watch a bunch of old bitter women. the other shows do have women who are up in age too, but they're a lot more fun and less stuffy.

  33. I'm surprised they didn't fire Luann. She doesn't really bring anything to the table.

I'm not really liking any of the new women that much this season and they definitely aren't meshing well.

I watch for Ramona and Sonja, both of whom are a nice mix of stupid and crazy.
