Prince Harry Is Back In Afghanistan

The last time Prince Harry went to the front lines there was a great deal of secrecy about his deployment. This time there was none and cameras were waiting when Prince Harry got off his RAF flight early this morning in Afghanistan. Harry is there as a co-pilot for an Apache helicopter and it is not an easy mission or particularly safe. The guy could get out of it if he wanted, but I think if it were up to him he would be there all the time. It also makes you wonder how many others who grew up in his position would be willing to serve on the front lines of a war and possibly be killed when they could be in Vegas getting naked all the time.

  1. This better not be a PR stunt.

  2. This is his punishment

  3. The guy is a badass. Despite living his entire life under scrutiny, he still goes out and does what he wants. And for the most part, the love he gets from the British people is warranted. Go Harry!

  4. So, is he being so public about where he is and what he's doing as a publicity thing to reverse the "what happened in Vegas" damage? When he was in Afghanistan before, being so open was deemed a danger to himself and his fellow soldiers and I agree with that. If some terrorist cell could get a hold of him or bomb the hell out of his location, they probably would. That would be major points to get a Prince Infindel. But now that there's a scandal to attend to, it is suddenly worth the lives and general well being of those around him? That's way worse than Vegas. That's callous and irresponsible, to say the least.

  5. OT--

Are these the answers to TWO Enty blinds? Or am I crazy?

Sorry to link CB, I just went there and two stories today sound familiar!
Sorry for the OT. Lots of blind reveals everywhere today, maybe.

    1. Thanks for posting, I don't go to that site often and these are very interesting

  6. I believe it's been known he was going back to Afganistan, after he completed flight training, for some time...unrelated to Vegas.

  7. What Harry did in Vegas isn't too far from what other males in his family (Charles and Andrew most notably)did a generation ago- his only mistake was getting caught on film. He's young, he's healthy, he isn't in a committed relationship. He's been in a war zone, knew he was going back to a war zone. Let him have all the f'in fun he wants.

  8. I think this should have been kept out of the press, too risky for him and others

  9. @libby - love your OT's. Ok, the Nic Cage one; which Enty blind was that? Gotta go back and look. Don't think that one was figured out here, though. Don't remember them as guesses. But NC is a grade A weirdo. (Makes me sad cause remember Valley Girl? He was so hotttt in that - plus I dated a guy in HS who looked exactly like that.)

  10. Frufra, Enty kept saying it was Jennifer Lawrence being stalked by Bradley Cooper, but not totally outright, I think. I thought I remembered someone guessing Nic Cage for the blind, that he might actually fit.
I don't remember the actual blinds very well though, and I'm bad at finding them.

  11. Because of the non-secrecy, it does make me wonder about a conspiracy theory. Who was it that asked how long we thought it would be before they offed him? Here's your answer.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I don't think this is publicity stunt. He's always struck me as being quite genuine about his commitment to being a soldier and if anything, it seemed he very disappointed and annoyed when he was taken off tour last time.

Nice guesses on the blinds Libby.

  13. Thanks for the links libby! Yes the blind was about being harassed on the red carpet. Nic Cage seems a lot more likely than B Cooper but the story is on te set, not on the carpet though it could happen on both if the dude is a total creeper

  14. Oh and Prince Harry is awesome.

  15. I'm not a big believer in conspiracy theories, especially when they involve someone who is shadowed by MI-5 (MI-6?). I don't know the guy but he doesn't strike me as the type to call the paps (or even like them for that matter, considering what happened to his mom) in order to get his name out there.

  16. It was known long before Vegas he was going back to Afghanistan. And yeah, it shows courage. He could have easily gotten out of it. He seems like a nice kid, just has a lot of growing up to do. Best wishes to him in the war zone.

  17. I think the Princes William and Harry are the most productive members of the royal family since the Queen.

For some of the younger posters that weren't around - their father, Prince Charles, was doing exactly the same things that his sons are doing now. He was much more protected though, and there was no internet.

Their uncle, Prince Andrew, has been a good example to them, since he's also been in the Military.

  18. Entward, This is not a photo op.There's military strategy
involved, sigh.He is in a place that is one of the most dangerous and hideous places on the earth for women.Glad somebody's is still there. It's not punishment,it is his duty.Didd you know that his Grandma, the Queen, served with the Army's transport corps in WW II. Bravo, Harry !

  19. Harry comes from a long line of Military Service. Queen Elizabeth's father, the King during WWII had served in the Royal Navy in WWI. On 6/6/44 (D-Day) both the King and Winston Churchill insisted upon going on to the beach. The US commanders had to stop them. It took quite a lot of arguing to get them to not go. Now that is something you would not see today.

  20. I agree with Tuxedo - I think both of Diana's boys are good eggs.

And yes to Agent, too - people forget too easily that women's rights hang very much in the balance in many parts of the world.

  21. Hi, old ;lady. Hope this Friday finds you well. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

  22. I don't think this is publicity stunt. Agreed with the 3-4 folks above, Harry really wants to serve. It's either this, or suffer the consequences of spending an entire life in the on-deck circle like his dad. Like his brother, he gets it. The Vegas stuff will seem like an aside many years from now.

  23. Cant helpit, love the Harry! Unless he coshes an old lady on the head, he ok in my book.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love Harry!!! He's a soldier and he loves it. I thought was always going back and that he was glad to go.

Both of the Princes are hard working, compassionate men. I think Diana would be proud!!!

And he looks just like Charles in this pic.

  25. Hi old ;ady -

Thanks for the info! I didn't know that about the Royals.

You and your family are also in my prayers. Blessings to you :)

  26. Thank you, Agent! A publicity stunt?! Come on. The Queen is the head of the armed forces, and she's going to send her grandson TO THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE IN THE WORLD for punishment and/or publicity?? Sometimes logic is lost on people here as it's so influenced by the blinds and Hollywood bullshit. Prince Andrew has done way worse than show his ass in Vegas, and what was his punishment? Erm, nothing.

  27. Jolene--I hope it wasn't MY comment that inspired your reaction--I said "PR", like, is it for public RELATIONS? The timing, I mean?
Simple publicity is a totally different thing. I didn't say that.

I don't doubt Harry is dedicated to his military service, but I don't put much past his elders when it comes to their randomly overreacting to a 'scandal'. KWIM?

As an aside, what if 'something worse' than just the nudie pics/makeout session ARE coming out? Nice to pack him off if something big is going to blow.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I should say--I see 'publicity' as meaning they want attention on him, which i do not believe is true at all in this case.
But I believe public relations could cause them to want to pack him away right now--AWAY from publicity...I hope that's more clear.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Harry was serving just fine before without all the publicity about where in Afghanistan he was. So why the spotlight now when it was too dangerous before? What's changed? That's not ignorance or a conspiracy theory. That's a fair and reasonable question.

    Don't kick a man while he's down! ;)

  31. Sorry Sunny. LOL!

At first I was thinking, What are you talking about!!! I said nice things!!!

I only said that about his dad bc of the debate a few weeks ago about. Was Harry a true Windsor or not? He looks just like daddy without the hair. I scrolled up and cropped out his hair. Charles!!!

I like old distinguishe Charlie better than the young Prince who married Diana. I thing he looks pretty good now.

  32. As someone who was in the military for many years and deployed to dangerous places, I HATE it when people use military service or war deployment as an excuse for bad behavior. Now Harry's partying apparently wasn't that bad. But please don't excuse it by reason of his being a "war hero." That sh*t makes me sick. I've been sexually harassed/gotten into fistfights/smacktalking matches/etc with plenty of drunk idiot soldiers/marines/sailors/etc only to hear that stupid war-fighting excuse. Then I tell them, "I was over there too you douchebag and you don't see me acting like an asshole!"

  35. @JenH, good questions. Theories abound!

I think it means that it's part of an overall strategy by the military who are calling the shots on this one. Not to 'rehab his image" from the Hollwierd PR bots definition, but to put him to good use - albeit a truly dangerous one, simply by his being there. I could be wrong now :)

  36. And here's the Nic Cage/Hudgens blind, I think:

    http://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2012/08/blind-item-1_10.html

But re-reading it, I still think BCoop and JLaw fit better ... what new franchise is Hudgens in?

  37. I am wild about Harry. He is a fine and noble young man, a credit to both his parents. He is no coward, and chooses to do all he does. His Mother would have been very proud.

  38. Anonymous9:47 AM

No,no they won't be able to off him.

William will become king and then die. He will have no kids to take over the thrown, so Harry will have to do it.

Nostradamus said it, so it's true.

Actually, I only half read the book so I don't know if this is true or not.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @LadyConstance,
    And Harry's wild about me.

  40. I would say the Vegas sojourn was his blowing off steam before deployment trip. How many other single guys on leave get naked and busy where possible? All of them...

    ReplyDelete
  41. I find it amazing that these royals past and present put their lives on the line like this. How many of us would do likewise? All this talk about how proud Diana would be brings a tear to my eye. I think she has pretty good boys on the whole...they could be a looot worse.

    Good Luck Harry!

  42. PBS sometimes shows a series about the royal family and what it is exactly that they do. In America, no one really talks about Princess Anne but according to the series, she does the most public appearances of all of them, often two or three in a day. She was also in the military (a number of her appearances are military functions) and she competed in the Olympics (her daughter Zara just won a silver medal during the London Olympics as an equestrian).

    ReplyDelete
  43. @astrogirl, most military men are married by their early twenties because they tend NOT to be the type to get naked in a room full of naked women, some of whom are prostitutes and doing drugs. If this were an officer in the American military, he would have gotten a letter of instruction (LOI) at a minimum which would permanently be in his record.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don't think it's punishment. I thought it was always understood that he would return to active duty just like William. I'll bet it was rushed and I'll bet they're getting him away from photogs, girls who commit fraud...and naked billiards tho.

Joking. I like him and want this to die down and for him to have learned a hard lesson and be done. Love Diana's boys.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Point I was making is any other soldier on leave isn't subject to the scrutiny that Harry is. If his privacy wasn't breached, no one would be the wiser.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @libby
YES!! I also read those articles and immediatly thought of the CDAN blinds ;)
the celebitchy people read cdan for sure...

    ReplyDelete
  47. @astrogirl, you're right. I think I would have been disgusted in him if it weren't for the reports by some of the girls that he was very nice and gentlemanly. It's comforting that he seems not to be a douchebag when he's drunk.

    ReplyDelete
  48. No worries, you being a woman in the military I take my hat off to you. I have worked in some sexist environments in the music industry, but surely that's tame compared to what you have had to endure.
