Today's Blind Items - She Has Broken Free
Good news for this former almost A list actress who is now a C- and is fading fast. She has finally realized that she needs to break free from her family situation and has moved out on her own for good. In the past she has tried but she would be pulled back home or a family member would move in with her. No one will hire her. She finally realized that she needed to make a change. She is a shell of the person she used to be and she had substance abuse issues to try and deal with what her life had become and the pain of having a family member get her pregnant. She has started showing up in public at events and calling in favors and is trying to make a comeback.
I wish it were LiLo, but I'm assuming it's someone else...whoever she is, good luck to her!

Thora Birch. Enty has talked a lot over the years about her psycho controlling father, and his skeevy need to direct his daughter's sex scenes. Her dad's behavior and insistence in being on-set ruined the career she had at the time.

ReplyDeleteTatum O'Neal is not A list, just like Roberto Benigni and F. Murray Abraham aren't A list. Oscar wins do not forever convey a certain list, they just convey that at one point in time your acting was considered superb.

ReplyDeleteThe blind says former almost A list actress. It doesn't say A list. Thora was getting there back in her day, she was a very good actress. Also, she has such a distinctive name I'm sure a lot of people would remember hearing it at some point in their past even if they couldn't place her. Almost every time I hear of the designer Tory Burch, I think of Thora Birch spontaneously.

I am guessing Thora Birch. Fits with her creepy dad, maybe he impregnated her? (from what I understand there was incest involved, reading this blind? Or I am misunderstanding.)
I think around the time of American Beauty she was almost A-list. People praised her acting skills and the movie itself was a big hit. She could have gotten amazing parts after that role. But then she was suddenly gone and weird rumors started that her dad was controlling and jealous when she had a sex/kissingscene.

Re Ellen Page, I think it's more of an "Anderson-Cooperish-not-going-to-deny-it" rather than "out and proud," but I believe she had a girlfriend a couple years ago (just post-Juno) that she was spotted with a lot, and maybe talked about once or twice - not sure if they're together anymore, though.
