Henry Winkler Helps Out Erin Moran

Chachi has said he is not helping Joanie, but The Fonz will. Henry Winkler, who is an incredibly nice guy, is working to get Erin Moran work again and to generate some income so she can pay her bills and take care of herself. He is reportedly trying to get her a role on Arrested Development which would also reunite her with her sitcom brother, Ron Howard. Scott Baio, who is the opposite of a nice guy said that he doesn't care what happens to Erin Moran and that he has his own life to worry about. Nice.

  1. Chachi is so wrongamundo.

  2. That's good news for her! So sad, her story. I think it's disgusting that the paps photographed her when she was homeless living in a motel. She's already hit an all time low, she doesn't need to walk outside and have scummy photographers take her picture to sell to tabloids.

  3. Joanie went on Chachi's stupid Scott Biao is 45 and a Douchebag show. He's such a putz.

  4. I love you Fonzie!

I've been enjoying Henry Winkler on Royal Pains. He's a good guy!

  5. Aaaaayyyyyyy! With two thumbs up:)

  6. I have heard before that he is super nice. That makes me happy :)

  7. Eyyyyyyy, whoa!
And did Chachi really say it like that? Maybe he's helped her in the past and something went south from there? Maybe? He is pretty self absorbed though. Well, glad she's getting a helping hand!

    1. Yeah, what baio said was his helping her didnt help, she continued her destructive lifestlye, so he quit helping. Niw he may be an ass, but lets try to be truthful. Sometimes, lol

  8. Wasn't Scott Baio and Erin Moran the popular guesses for one of those horrific blind items a while back. There were so many horrible ones, I can't remember the details to try and search for it. Anyone remember?

  9. Props to the Fonz for this, but I'm not going to judge Scott Baio because I don't know the whole story. Like Sugar said, something could have happened in the past that soured him on helping her now.

  10. Bob Loblaw sounds like kind of a dick. Hopefully Ron Howard makes it so Erin's character has to make out with Scott Baio.

  11. It is nice of Henry Winkler to reach out to her. I hope she gets the help she needs, seems like it would be stressful to be working on a TV show in the midst of addiction/mental illness issues. Good luck to Erin.

  12. I'll give Scott Baio a pass for not helping Erin because he's not obligated and who knows if he's helped in the past. However, when asked he could have just said 'I wish her well'. It's uncool to say what he did.

That said, Erin Moran was a biatch on Celebrity Fit Club so it's not surprising that not everyone is reaching out to her.

As a side note, I am Joni and my daughter is Charlotte. Her nickname is Chachi. Not a lot of people get it, but I grew up with Happy Days and Joanie was one of my favorites.

  13. Now if he'd just stop doing those dreadful reverse mortgage commercials.

  14. I had a feeling Henry would step in and make the effort. Who knows if she is in a place to make use of what he is offering her but at least he knows he gave her a helping hand.

He is a very nice man who has spent a lot of time paying back for all his good fortune in life--which is pretty rare.

  15. I read the article on LAist, and the gist I got was that he wasn't going to discuss Erin Moran's life, he's got his own issues to worry about. Nothing wrong with not commenting on someone else's hardships and acknowledging you have enough of your own stuff to worry about - he's minding his own business. IF he meant it in a douchey way, then fine - but there's a chance he's just minding his own.

  16. SCOTT BAIO RUINS EVERYTHING!!"

  17. aww henry. i remember hearing him on wait wait don't tell me a while back and he just seemed like the sweetest guy. glad to get additional confirmation!

  18. I liked Scott Baio until his reality show. He came across as such a jerk and a half.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I hope he is able to help. Her addiction issues may require more than just work and income; however I commend him for trying to be a positive force in getting her life back in order. Cheers to Henry for that.

  20. Agree with Sugar and AKM. Addicts (and narcissists) are really good at painting themselves as victims and when people try to help them out, they make those trying to help them look like the bad guy. I've had plenty of experience with both types and I don't form opionions about this sort of thing too quickly, unless I am fairly certain that I have the facts.

Props to the Fonz for helping her and I hope his good intentions work out well for them all.

  21. Sorry that would be "sometimes can make those trying to help them out look bad". Doesn't happen all the time of course, just more often than you would think.

  22. JJ that is so cute!

  23. Love The Fonz. He just seems like a genuinely awesome person. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Scott Baio is insufferable... and it just seems to be getting worse as he ages.

  26. After being sick one day and unfortunately catching his reality show marathon, I have to say that Chachi is a grade A douche.

On the other hand, I'm not surprised that Henry Winkler is reaching out to her. He's an all around good guy. Always has been, always will be. I hope they are planning on using him in the new "Arrested Development" reboot.

I'm rooting for Erin. Being a child actor makes you a magnet for all sorts of pervs. Obviously she was abused. She's admitted it herself, so I'm not just going by the blinds. I hope she's able to get back on her feet again.

  27. What a good guy. I've heard for so long that Henry Winkler and Tom Selleck are two of the nicest guys in Hollywood.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I've followed Winkler on Twitter for some time, and Enty's right: he does seem like a decent, approachable guy. Never gets political or controversial, either. Just updates about where he is, what he's doing, who he's with, etc. And he's one of the best celebs I've seen about responding to followers.

Baio, on the other hand, was another matter. I'm a centrist, politically, but Baio came off sounding to me like a goose-stepping Nazi wannabe. I thought there were more than just tinges of racism too. I followed him on Twitter for no more than two or three days, but during that time I saw him threaten to sue two or three followers who'd tweeted something to him that he didn't like.

  29. I know all addicts are responsible for their addiction but there are circumstances that bring people to the edge and they just cant cope anymore. Remember all the blinds about the trains (gang bangs) they used to run on Erin Moran. If I remember was she really was in love with Scott Baio but he was busy sharing her with almost all the males on the show.

  30. scott baio is a dick.

  31. I watched Scott Baio's VH1 show, and when he did help Erin out by doing some fan thing, it was obvious she is a little off. The way she behaved with him-well the only way I can think to describe it is "agressively needy." It reminded me of Lilo in a way. I'm not a fan of the guy, but I'm reserving judgement on this one.

I'm not at all surprised Henry Winkler is a gem of a man.

  34. This is truly incredulous because she accused Henry Winkler of sexually abusing her during their years on Happy Days. Wow. I know she was on drugs when she said it and that she has since changed her tunes, but Henry must truly be a saint.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not so sure about this. Every report I have seen has her boozing and getting kicked out because of her behavior. I hope what he does involved real help and not just a bam said/buff and shine remedy that he will come to regret.

    ReplyDelete
  36. If Ms Moran is an active addict she may not want help at all. She'll take Winkler's money and use it to do what she wants to do most - get high.

Definitely not a fan of Baio but I think he's being prudent here.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I hope Winkler isn't getting totally taken advantage of here. I love him.

Pretty sure that was a reveal a couple of years later.

He's not a nice person. Henry Winkler however...Yeeeeeeah!

  39. Scott is an a-hole. I can't stand him, plus he's so unattractive.

LOVE Henry Winkler. Always heard he was a nice guy.

  40. What a great guy. I don't know the whole story about Erin. Was she a drug addict before? I can't judge Scott or the other co-stars. We don't know the story. They may have tried to help her before and she somehow blew it probably? Or could be a case of charity burnout. That could happen. I have an acquaintance who fell on hard times. She asked for monetary help and I did. 2 months passed, no word from her. Then one day a knock on the door, it's her and she looked worst that the first time she sought help. She was asking for more money, I caved. 2 years no word and one day she showed up in front of the house. Yep, you've guessed it. She's asking for more help. This time I declined. Just found out lately from someone that she's been on heavy drugs for the past 5 years. I didn't feel guilty that I declined to give help to her the last time. I felt guilty thinking I indirectly helped her to get her drugs by giving her money to buy it.

  41. Why is it Scott Baio's responsibility to take care of Erin Moran? I'm trying to understand the logic and why his disinterest in doing so would make him an ass. I have worked with people in the past who are currently falling on hard times, and I'm sorry, it's not up to me to provide for them. He and Erin are no different from anyone else who had a working relationship years ago and no longer speak. She has a family, she has friends. Scott Baio does indeed have his own family to provide for, and even if he didn't, he's still not Erin's caretaker. Henry Winkler might be a nice guy, but I don't for one minute believe his motives are pure. Surely he knows he will get press for it, otherwise he would help anonymously! Erin is not well mentally and emotionally and needs more than just a job. There is probably a good reason why her close family and friends want nothing to do with her - perhaps they've been burned by their past efforts.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Good for Henry! But I also reserve judgement on Scott. Interesting, that with all of Ron Howard's money, he hasn't reached out to Erin. Unless he's done it anonymously.

    ReplyDelete
  43. we was on howard stern last week and said he hadn't heard from or seen her lately, but that everyone has tried to help her over the years. i guess someone put them in touch. he seems to be a good man.

    ReplyDelete
  44. How come no one mentioned Enty calling Ron Howard not a nice person? Wonder what the backstory is there. I personally love Fonzi, but I really don't know Erin Morans situation, but if it is drug related, he's being an idiot. Unfortunately you can't help someone with addiction unless they want to help themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  45. When did Enty call Ron Howard not a nice person?!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Scott Baio is and has always been a douche.

When he was a kid, just getting famous, he used to stand on his stoop in Brooklyn and sell 8x10's to the neighborhood girls that would flock there. #LowRentTrash

  47. Henry Winkler seems exactly how I would imagine him to be, genuinely nice.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Just because she was a co star with Scott Baio doesn't mean he should be obligated to help Erin, I guess Enty goes down to skid row in Hollywood and helps out all the homeless former junkies all the time so that gives her the right to say that Scott doesn't care.

Here's a Transcript of what Scott Baio said about Erin.

FOX411: Does the news about Erin Moran make you sad?

SB: To be perfectly honest with you I don’t know what’s going on. People tell me certain things. I don’t know what her situation is. I have a job to do, I have a wife and child to take care of. So I don’t pay attention to things that I don’t know anything about. I’ve got my own situation to deal with.

    --------------------------------

Scott has a family to worry about and not some former co star who blew all her money on booze and drugs and bad decisions.

  49. I love Henry Winkler... he seems like such a nice guy and his comedic timing is always spot on:)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Scott Baio is a grade-A douche for many reasons, but this is not one of them. From what I could tell from his VH-1 show, he helped Moran in the past yet she just kept coming back. I got a relative like that and sometimes you got to just shut off the spigot.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I feel for her and not because all I wanted when I was little was to be Joanie in that episode when she had the crush on Potsie and he sang to her at the end, and she had that cool red coat and the beret... oh, wait, maybe that is the only reason.
Anyhoo, heard the Fonz on Stern last week as well, he seems so charming. Howard also revealed that the only star that Fonzie doesn't get along with is Tom Hanks, back from when Hanks got Winkler fired from "Turner and Hooch". He said he only likes people that treat others with respect, but that the dog was wonderful to work with. Interesting.

  52. Of course I love Henry Winkler for helping her. I love him anyway. He is the best. Thing is, when you help an addict that is not committed to helping themselves then you are just enabling them. Trust me, I have a family full of them. You can help them, give them money, or put them in rehab, but at the end of the day they are still in line at the liquor store with the money you gave them. They have to help themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yo! Back off, people....so I don love Joanie no more....what's it to youse guys, anyways?
