This actress was never a huge star even back at the peak of her career. She probably reached B list at one point at her career. It was all movies all the time. She struggled to find her way in US films, and made her biggest films outside the US. This did not stop her from being one of Warren Beatty's conquests while she was married. Not that she was immune to having affairs. She had a baby with a man who she later married but he was still married at the time she got pregnant and kept the news from the child until he was a teen. She said that she was abused in every relationship she was ever in. She had another baby that died shortly after child birth that she told everyone was her husband's but was actually the product of an affair, but not another affair. Yes, she was having several affairs simultaneously. She made a lot of money which one of her husbands stole from her leaving her penniless at her death which was called a suicide, but never officially ruled as one. Some people say she was murdered by her abusive husband who stole all her money then ran away. Others say she was murdered by the government.

This blind is confusing. I don't understand the babies and the affairs. None of the kids were her husband's?

ReplyDeleteHenriette---I really like the older blinds, the pre-24-hour-news-era. Stuff used to be covered up....the media were 'polite', or manipulated or outright threatened NOT to reveal secrets about some of the biggest stars back then.

DeleteI really wish people would stop with the "I don't like _______ blinds" comments. It's like a salad bar. If you don't like beets, skip 'em. Stop complaining to the manager that they're out there because I love 'em (beets, that is).

ReplyDeleteYes, i agree! And seems more serious stuff- murder, staged suicides, gayness shoved in closet, babies out of wedlock, spying during ww2, casting couch misery- yikes! Mb jean eliminated as too unstable as she knew too much. Rip anyway. I always hope the people that were so miserable and unhappy here find peace in the afterlife.

ReplyDeleteI think the old blinds are okay, but you have to know of the subject in question! I had never heard the name Jean Seberg in my life until people started guessing on this one. So yeah, it's hard to get excited about a reveal like this. Like someone else commented a while back, it's like posting a blind about your neighbours.

ReplyDeleteLilith (1964) - Starring Jean Seberg and Warren Beatty. Read the book in college. If I remember correctly the movie was pretty faithful to the book.
I love the old Hollywood blinds, too. Some of those folks put these people today to shame!

Jean was beautiful, but very troubled, see, some things never change. Same place, different people.
As I recall someone did guess this blind correctly. And the even went so far to provide a link to wikipedia if I recall correctly as well. Sad way to end her life.
