Blind Item #4
Talk about being on the down low. This is the first time I have heard about this almost A list movie and television actress who has always tried to stay out of the press and be squeaky clean do anything scandalous. She has made her name lately in movies but when the world finds out about her fling with her very married television co-star, people are going to start talking about our actress in a way they have not before.

1. The success of Bridesmaids (and her subsequent Oscar nomination for it) could qualify her as almost A-list.
2. She is also on the TV show Mike and Molly (TV and film actress) and her co-star is married.
3. She herself is seemingly happily married with a kid, therefore she doesn't exactly scream scandalous.

ReplyDeleteThe Kerry Washington guess is based on the blind using the word "scandalous"? I like it, though I'd be sad if Kerry had a negative scandal coming out. I like her too much. I hope she's having an affair with her female co-star though!
Don't think it's Zooey. She made her name in movies in the early 2000s, if anything her movie star shine is gone now. Hasn't been in a feature in two years. Plus she's an A-list television actress. Definitely doesn't try to stay out of the press, constantly doing magazine covers and fishing for style pieces with every red carpet appearance.

ReplyDeleteohh melissa mccarthy fits the best - i wouldnt say any of the rest of them have made their name recently in movies while still being on tv; they're all more famous for tv now. have zooey d or lucy liu even been in a movie recently? but melissa mccarthy had bridesmaids and now that identity thief movie with jason bateman. and her costar is married. that would be crazy tho! hope it isn't true :(

And I sincerely doubt some production assistant is noting them going into the same trailer or something during lunch and gossiping about it to some "wills and probate lawyer" as NY Post described
ReplyDeleteI was thinking more along the lines of Kelly Ripa (I KNOW she's a host, not an actress, but she's squeaky clean). Not sure any of the guesses are right. Kerry Washington is in a show called Scandalous, so those of us who don't know her don't know if it's far from the truth or not. So, sort of negates that for me.

I'm going to broaden the guesses and include women too. The First Lady on the show or one of those ladies in the firm could work too. I vaguely remember a few years back that some gossip site hinted at her being lesbian or bi. It quickly died down, of course.
HaterBaby - wasn't there a recent blind about a woman who was planning on doing something scandalous just to get some publicity going? I'm wondering if this is the same person.

Yes I was confused, because when I read down low I assumed the blind was about someone with the same sex, but the blind doesn't mention the sex of the co-star, so I'm not sure.

Even for a numbered BI I don't think the CDAN writers would use the term "on the down low" loosely. This BI (if true) refers to a lesbian affair.

She wasn't near him, hanging w JFoxx (who had quite a bit to say at 1am re: Leo, Kate Winslet, etc.) And Tarantino. Also, her mother or some other older woman. Sam Jackson and other guy were w others.

crila16 - I would say Kerry Washington is. She's pretty popular right now. She is the lead of a successful tv show called "Scandal" & is in "Django Unchained." She's been everywhere at the award shows & is featured a lot because of her fashion sense.

Just want to day that Tony Goldwyn is insanely sexy and always has been.

They call each other "my wife" all the time, and I think they would be adorable together, but I don't think they're who this blind is referring to. It could refer to Amy Poehler and Adam Scott, however. I would LOVE them together, but Adam's wife is so wonderful I can't bring myself to root for Amy/Adam too hard...

I am on the Kerry Washington train, however I think she is having an affair with the president on scandal. There was a blind about this several months ago about steamy love scenes being real on a tv show, I think it is Kerry and Tony Goldwyn. He has been married since 87'. With all the "press" she has been getting about being the first black woman lead in a long time on a tv show, maybe enty is making a clue about her sleeping with someone of another race.

ReplyDeleteMy sense is that these numbered BI's come from sources outside the blog, so it's possible some details would be out of date. Plus some of the BI details are fudged, and I suspect that BI's about closeted stars are those most likely to be fudged since Enty does not (mostly) out people. Or it's just completely fake. Change the clue to read "...her once very married television co-star..." and Rashida and Amy fit this BI quite well.
Rashida has a kind of goody-goody rep, stays out of the tabs and did make that comment about Travolta.
Rashida is also half-black, which fits the "down low" clue very well.

ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker though and keep trying to hold true all the tidbits of fact that I have learned about this site through the years. Early in the days it was expressed that Enty knew Rashida Jones and that he doesn't write about his "friends". ie: Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrara, Amber Tamblyn, etc... Although, I have to admit that the site has changed a bit with all the extra blinds, so who knows anymore.

ReplyDeleteAs pretty as she is, at first I couldn't figure out why Rashida seemed extra appealing to me. And then I remembered that the first shows I could remember watching as a little kid were The Mod Squad and Room 222. So Peggy Lipton was the first "pretty TV lady" imprinted on my youthful mind (her and Karen Valentine, I suppose). Rashida looks like a mocha-tinted version of her mom.

ReplyDeleteIn fact I remember speculation in the comments that Rashida was one of Entys ex wives. I think there was a post or a blind where he mentioned marrying a good friend on a whim in Vegas (wife 3 I think) and it was a mistake but they were still friends.

I highly doubt that Rashida is one of Enty's ex's (keeping in mind that personal details like that he claims are probably fake to some degree). However, Rashida was engaged to Mark Ronson at one point and it would not surprise me at all if Enty was friends with Ronson.

Squeaky clean image- Kerry just received an NAACP award for her philanthropy work and her work with the Obama campaign. 3. Not doing anything scandalous- Well, she is on the show 'Scandal'. 4. Very married co-star- Tony Goldwyn has been married for 20 years or more.
ReplyDeleteShe's definitely dated outside her race on more than one occasion, so this wouldn't surprise a lot of people. However, a lot of people speak very highly of her, so if this turned out to be true, people wouldn't be so easy to forgive her I think.
Except that it's definitely intended to be deciphered as a black actress having a lesbian fling with her TV co-star. That's the clear implication of including the term "down low." So clearly intended to be read as Kerry Washington, although my guess of Rashida Jones was also plausible.
