So, yesterday, I learned that the night of the pre and post Oscar party that January Jones was told by Liam Hemsworth that he was single. Apparently January does not read any tabloids and didn't really even know who Liam was exactly. She thought he was a good looking guy and January had some drinks and the next thing you know they were making out. She had no idea he was dating Miley Cyrus and says the last thing she wants is to bring more negative publicity on herself when she was finally digging herself out of the last two holes she put herself in. She says that Liam said he was single. She asked if he was dating anyone and he said no. Could she have asked his name and then Googled him quickly to see? I suppose. January has made some really bad decisions in the past, but from what I have been told, this is not on her, and she is upset people are thinking it is her fault.
I believe it. She's a working single mom. Even though she probably had a nanny, she probably doesn't spend her free time flipping through US Weekly to keep track of who's dating who. And I just don't see it with Liam. I recognize everyone, but he would probably fly under my radar too. His brother on the other hand...

ReplyDeleteI adore Mad Men, and I've watched a ton of interviews with January Jones. She is peculiar. There's a childlike naïveté about her that is quite reminiscent of Betty Draper, actually. She just sort of stumbles through interviews in a stream-of-conscious way, and it's so different than the "on-message" canned framing of a certain image that other actresses so expertly do. And when she's interviewed alongside other cast members, she just sort of stares at them and looks uncomfortable. It reminds me a bit of Daryl Hannah, who you may know is mild Aspergers (as am I).
Also, does January Jones have girlfriends? Female aspies have a hard time connecting with other women, reading the fast social cues, etc.
We also sometimes, um, make faux pas when it comes to dating. Oh, the stories I could tell.
I think it's part of the persona JJ has created.With Darryl Hannah I think it really is who she is but JJ seems to be more of a put on, mystery acting persona she believes makes her seem more interesting than genuine behavior.

ReplyDeleteWhat I care about is the incessant sexism and slut shaming JJ receives. She's a single mother and not ashamed of it. She's never going to tell you who fathered her child. Just get over it already.
So when is TMZ going to stick a camera in Liam's face and ask him why he's a whore? When is he going to get articles written about what a slut he is?

ReplyDeleteI should say that I'm not really invested in the morals of celebrities. They nearly all cheat. I find the double standards between them more interesting. Who gets away with their behavior is based on whether they are considered likable or not.

Jon Hamm's womanizing has never been reported by the mainstream tabloids.
I just find it interesting who gets away with what.
I'm not a fan of slut-shaming the woman in this - I think he is the one in the relationship, he's the one who has the responsibility to disclose or say no to an advance. I hate that it's always pinned on the woman. I'm more inclined to believe that he is just a scumbag who cheats on his fiancee as he's the one in the relationship. Can we please just stop with the women bashing?
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that Liam is the one responsible for staying faithful in his own relationship and the attacks on JJ are over the top and often flat out sexist, but after repeated incidents where she's linked to men who are otherwise attached I do stop and question it all a little bit. I mean, it's not like Liam is the first. What was the weird car crash thing with Bobby Flay? And granted we have no idea who the father of her baby is nor do we have any right to that information, but the rumors regarding Michael Vaughn are rough too.
ReplyDeleteNow, I also know that many men are more than willing to lie to a pretty girl about their relationship status to get her into bed. My best friend went through a rough couple of months a few years back where nearly every guy she dated turned out to have a girlfriend. It really took it's toll on her for a while since she doesn't ever want to be that girl and it made her question what it was about her that made these men see her as a mistress. (obviously, it wasn't her, it was their problem. and it seemed to be a weird coincidence of timing since it hasn't happened since to her knowledge, but I digress).
Anyways, JJ seems like she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and considering she is a single mother she problem isn't sitting around reading tabloids all day, so if this post is true and she really didn't know I feel awful for her. But at the same time, there are some people who almost get off on sleeping with someone who is taken, and that is really uncool and does deserve comment if it's the case. Granted, we will probably never really know either way. Oh well.
I tend to believe January on this one.

Anyway, the point of my post being that they've probably been broken up already for a while but were trying to hide it from the press till they were ready to deal with it. It would also explain yesterday's easy easy blind item (which most people guessed was Liam) and why he would say he's "finally free", maybe because people are finally catching on to the fact that they've split (despite Miley denying it).

ReplyDeleteI totally believe JJ on this. In fact, I had assumed that Liam and Miley had broken up awhile ago and their PR teams just hadn't announced it for whatever PR reason (or maybe they had and I had missed it, cuz you know, it's Miley-fucking-Cyrus we're talking about here and who cares?).
