Amanda Bynes Tries

One thing that really was missing from the Britney Spears meltdown a few years ago was Twitter. Not just Twitter as a whole, but Britney having it so she could upload photos and keep us informed of what she was doing. She would have. I think it would have been amazing. No matter what is going on with Amanda Bynes, at least we get one version of her truth from her directly. She now says that she does not talk to her parents and they do not speak for her and she only speaks for her. She also said she had to shave her head because some salon screwed up her hair which is why she has wigs and extensions and that she saw the strange red head impostor herself and tried to catch the red head but she was too fast. Uh huh. I have a feeling she is never going to be able to catch her. I also have the feeling they will never be photographed together. I wonder how Amanda acts when she is being a redhead? is she normal then? Does she turn from aDrake fan to a Chris Brown fan?

  3. Amanda, you can't catch the red head. The red head is you!

I know its wrong but I hope she's still up to these antics when I go to NYC in august. I will also be stopping by the Co$ office wearing my Where's Shelly? Shirt!

  9. I wish she was getting some help. She doesn't think she needs it because no one in this condition thinks anything is wrong. They're just a free spirit!! No, honey. You need some serious professional help.

    This is just sad.

  10. If everyone would just ignore her for a week, she may become desperate enough for attention to start tweeting bathroom mirror nudes.

Would it be illegal or just immoral to start and "Unfollow Amanda" campaign on Twitter, w/ nude pics as the goal? What I'm saying is: Should a proxy be used when doing it?

    1. +1 now thats a goal worth working for

    2. Ah yes... Pushing a mentally ill person into exposing themselves for your enjoyment is both immoral and immediately red-flags anyone who participates as a sociopath. That's predatory behavior, and it's not nearly as funny as you obviously think it is.

  13. Yeah, it's become glaringly obvious the Amanda is in serious need of some help here.
Sad how even the stupid K KOWS felt the need to mock her on tv the other night (I think it was on Chelsea?) considering they are famous without any talent aside from sex tapes and a pimp handed, biz savvy mama.

  16. Oh, yes, Enty, watching a mentally ill person melt down for amusement is - to use your word - "amazing". It was always so awesome to visit my daughter in the psych ward (so entertaining!), and now that she's a homeless person, it's just endless hilarity (scabies - too funny!). I'll keep you posted with of all her antics, because it's all just too awesome not to share!

  19. I have a friend who is manic-depressive and her behaviour is odd and weird when she's off her meds. And she doesn't think she needs meds when she's on them cause she feels normal so she goes off them. It's a cycle that doesn't end well. She spent over $300K in three months , stole a purse, slapped a cop and was tossed in jail. Now she's back on meds and doing well. I wish Amanda would get help but she doesn't think she has a problem and you can't force her. It's really sad and unfortunate.

  20. Two more sightings not covered here yet: pictures of her shopping with a short brown wig ON TOP of a long pink wig. And when she was staying at the W hotel, staff found her sitting in the corner of the gym with no pants on and smoking, mumbling to herself.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wouldn't it be annoying to work on someone's hair when they're wearing earbuds? I would never dream of that, I have too much respect for the kickass girl who does my hair.

ABynes seems to be sitting in her stylist's chair daily, however. Stars! They're just nothing like us!

  22. +1 @ QT Me. Sorry to hear about your daughter. :(

  23. Let's not let Bynes become a thing. No, please.

  24. Thanks for the kind thoughts, guys. I have to say that DO get the fascination with Amanda Bynes, I really do, but there is nothing funny about this. To follow this line of thinking, we should all be laughing and pointing at celebrities who are bald from chemo, and stalking them with cameras.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @QT Me I am very sorry to hear about your daughter. I know how hard it is on my Aunt when my cousin goes off her meds. She has had some very heartbreaking episodes.
Your daughter is lucky to have you. So many people in that situation have nobody.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's one thing when someone's simply behaving badly, but it's pretty evident now that Amanda has some serious mental issues and needs help desperately. Trying to help her, though, is a problem of its own; she's legally an adult and can't be forced to do anything unless she acts up enough that the police have to bring her in and have her admitted to a hospital. I certainly understand the reasons behind the laws (too many people in the past have been victimized by those who simply wanted to control them because they were different, embarrassing, etc.), but this is one of those cases where it's actually a problem. *shakes head*

    ReplyDelete
  27. @its just u, which brings up another point. My daughter, and your cousin, ARE lucky to have family support. But my daughter doesn't recognize that there is something seriously wrong with her and refuses to get help - just like Amanda. I can't imagine the pain her family is going through, having to watch Amanda mentally disintegrate before their eyes, and being vilified by literally millions of people who will never understand.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Is she really sticking with the red head story? What is wrong with her? Is it alot of good weed? Good ol fashioned crazy? Bi polar disorder? Or just lack of parenting, structure as a child, discipline combined with sexual molestation/abuse at the hands of nickelodeon employees so that now she's not only chemically and mentally unbalanced but also emotionally broken? Who is going to help her? Who has a tie to her? Apparently WE the public and the tabloids are all the is listening to, we're telling her she's crazy and acting erratically, and she's listening. She's got to start wondering herself. She was never a stupid girl on her shoes, you can't do that kind of comedy without having two brain cells to click together. What's wrong with her? Repeated objectification and abuse? A psychological break?

    ReplyDelete
  29. on her shows.... not stupid on her shows... wow

  32. I don't think she is being stalked. Her public behavior captures attention from everyone around her, hence the cell pics only. I don't feel tons of sympathy given she is proving herself to be a compulsive liar. I find her bizarre behavior fascinating and am trying to figure out wtf is wrong with her. That is all.

  33. Count Jerkula has never pretended to be anything *but* our resident sociopathic POV. He definitely keeps the snark in the community.

    1. No, that's not snark. It's sick, and I'm sorry you don't seem to know the difference.

I had written a nicely worded, polite reply but I scrapped it when I came to my senses. Why is it okay to prey upon the mentally ill? Or is it just okay that Jerkula, a board regular, said it? Where's all the outrage that there was yesterday at the Abe Vigodas-trolling-for-barely-legal-teens situation?

Am I missing something or am I the only one who thinks that's incredibly fucked up.

      Delete
    2. What about Abe Vigoda?

Speakeasy, I find some things Count says as humorous, and some disgusting. I generally ignore it. Better to do that than have others telling me to "lighten up".

    3. @PuggleWug
Yesterday there was a blind about a middle aged actor trolling for barely legal teens that he wines, dines, slips morning after pills then dumps...

JAS, though he was being kind of a douche about the whole thing, said in his opinion it was okay because both parties were legally adults. Long story short, people disagreed and things got ugly. JAS was called a troll and people questioned his manhood, etc. I didn't agree with JAS but it seemed to me like at least some of the people involved were having a go at him more because of whom he was arguing with (longtime posters) than anything else.

Then today, Count Jerkula unrepentantly suggests cajoling a mentally ill person into exposing herself on the Internet and no one seemed to bat an eye. In fact, my disgust was brushed off with an oh, that's just Jerkula...

Sorry, but that shit doesn't fly with me. I don't care who he is or how long he's posted on CDAN, he doesn't deserve a pass on his sociopathic comments.

  35. @crila, she was photo'd one day, walking around times square with red hair. she was acting really weird.

she later went on twitter to show a pic of her with blonde hair, stating that the redhead was just a look a like, as if it's another person acting super weird.

  37. Damn, she really does seem to have a mental illness. I feel bad for her walking around by herself all the time. Family generally can't or won't get involved until they get in serious trouble. I hope someone intervenes or helps her, but while her behavior is seen as funny or harmless no one will.

It is OK because I am funny and no one except you thinks I am serious. Sure, I'd like to see her nude, but not enough to go out of my way for it.

Can't argue with the asshole comment.

    1. @ Count Steubenville
So you're not just a sociopath, you're a slow one... Okay, here's your explanation:

The majority of the people involved in the Steubenville case never touched that girl. What they did do, however, was take advantage of someone not in control of her faculties. They encouraged others to abuse her, laughed at her violation, and then giggled to themselves as the pictures were posted all over the net.

In fact, the biggest difference I see between you and the Steubenville pricks is that they are all kids and you're supposedly a man. Mentally you're about the same level though, so the analogy still stands.

That's fine though, Jane: I'm sure you are the nicest of persons and that you mean really well, but you need to lay off a little. You had your say, but the Internet is not for you if you believe that it is your job to correct everyone's behaviors/opinions/personalities. You can do that to everyone around you if you want (though I'd hate to be one of them, no offense), but over here it won't fly. Sorry! (But I'd still let you have some of my ganja)

  49. @Wendy, when I said it was a sad story it was a comment on what you reported. I certainly never thought you were making fun of her. It didn't come across that way in your comment at all, I mean not to me at least.

    ReplyDelete
  50. @Wendy: I was talking about this:

"Two more sightings not covered here yet: pictures of her shopping with a short brown wig ON TOP of a long pink wig. And when she was staying at the W hotel, staff found her sitting in the corner of the gym with no pants on and smoking, mumbling to herself."

I think that's sad for her. I don't see you laughing at that, just stating something that you heard.

  51. I'm with Crapbag. I want to help her too. I have also witnessed a schizophrenic meltdown by a relative over a period of years. Unfortunately, he killed his ex and her mother because the voices in his head said they were witches and had to be destroyed. He hung himself in jail. So my sympathies and empathy to all here that are going through this incredibly painful experience.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I am wondering if she has schizo-effective disorder? She is exhibiting some of the same symptoms as a dear friend of mine. Eventually she had a breakdown and had to be hospitalized on and off for about a year. It was heartbreaking to watch what happened, but now six years later she is making great progress. Slow and steady, but she is continually improving.

I only hope Ms. Bynes can get the proper mental healthcare.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Navymommy: That story is heartbreaking. Amanda needs love and help and you cannot make someone do it when they are so deep in the muck and mire of mental illness. It is truly awful that they must hurt themselves or someone else before they get any help. At least Britney had family who could do it. It doesn't appear that she does.

    ReplyDelete
  54. @lvs: I'll try, I only have so much asshole to go around though.

@Speakeasy Jane: Sad that you have to resort to name calling when you hear something you don't like. I feel bad for you.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Jane saw something said that she strongly disliked, and said so. Not saying resorting to insults is a good way to go, but she did state her opinion as well. It's the way she felt, there is no need to admit being wrong or overreacting.

I have certain subjects that are quite touchy for me. In the past, I would immediately post my disgust for a comment on the subject. Not everyone feels the same way I do, which makes this place kind of awesome, I've learned.
