Andy Dick Eliminated From Dancing With TheStars

I didn't think Andy Dick had it in him to make it to week 7 of Dancing With The Stars, but he did. I actually thought he might squeeze another week out of it despite having the lowest score on Monday. Alas, it was not meant to be as the other two couples in the bottom three stayed and Andy and his first year dance partner got the boot so to speak.

  1. What amazes me is that Andy Dick still has any kind of career. Who is his audience? Who are his fans?

  2. Andy staying to week 7 is a testament to what crappy dancers they had this season.

  4. I'm a huge Andy fan - he's a genuine comic genius. Find his MTV series or The Ben Stiller Show for evidence.

    1. I agree. I can't help but root for him to get control of his demons so he can display that comic genuis again.

  6. I'll love him forever just because of Newsradio. Anyone from that cast gets a free pass forever from me.

  7. Oh, Seachica---me too! Phil Hartman!

And Stephen Root---unsung character actor, in EVERYTHING. Thankfully still with us, unlike poor Phil.

  8. Stephen Root is a wonderful actor! Did you see him on Boardwalk Empire? Or O Brother Where Art Thou? He really does great accents too.

  9. I should also mention that Andy Dick saw Phil Hartman as a mentor and a kind of father figure, and took his murder especially hard. Andy's a fragile guy; it's why I can't hate him.

  10. Seachica.....Newsradio was my show! Great pool of talent...everyone was funny but Phil Hartman was the king.

  11. SusanB--I LURVE
    William
    Fontaine
    DeLatour
    Dauterive.

And nobody EVER notices that he was in Office Space too!
He's kind of the Gary Oldman of comedy--Stephen Root gets no respect for his RANGE because he almost disappears too well into character.

  12. I've met Andy before, during the worst part of his addiction and yes he was inappropiate but he was very nice and was thrilled to meet anyone who was a fan. I wish him the best because the Andy I met and the Andy now are total opposites.

  13. And Libby- I adore Stephen Root. He is amazing in any movie he's in! His Milton made me feel so much empathy- I'm so glad he got outta that basement!

  14. He cleans up nice. I saw he has a new show coming out too. I think on TBS? Don't quote me. I totally have frazzled working mom ADD right now.

Newsradio was the shiz. And I always love his demo on Old School. I love that movie.

  15. rcb---When I suddenly realized one day, way back when, that Milton, and the badass boss on Newsradio, AND Bill Dauterive were the SAME GUY, I nearly had a coronary! Then I started seeing him EVER'WHAR. He is a chameleon, fo sho.

And I'm glad to hear that about Andy. thanks for sharing.

Sorry for the O/T, every one.

  16. I like the guy. Granted, his behavior is awful when he's using drugs and/or drinking, but there are a lot of stories about how he is the nicest guy on the planet when sober. You don't still have friends after all the crap he's pulled if you don't have super redeeming qualities. I wish the best for him.

  20. I think he was just so likeable on the show and you really wanted to root for him. Cariane was really awful to him too. Suddenly she is the nasty judge this year. I also think you could see exactly how much this meant to him which was why it was hard to see him go. All the while that nasty Sean and his fake fiance stick around.

  21. I'm sorry he was kicked off the show, he seemed to be really trying. I, also, heart NewsRadio. That was the best show ever. Sob, Phil Hartman.

  22. @sarah - it clearly seems to be that the producers have a contract with Sean that he will be there a minimum number of weeks. He probably couldn't swing a fake win out of them, but I'm sure he had a set minimum to tie in with his repulsive televised wedding. Ugh.

  23. Andy used this to his advantage...he came into it with many people giving him the side eye--and he was so hard-working and self deprecating the whole time, he's America's Sweetheart now--he pulled a Kelly Osbourne.

  24. agree with those who thought andy came off as good guy on the show and tha he REALLY wanted to be there. the bachelor guy is so annoying. the only reason he managed to stay the last 2 weeks, is that he takes his shirt off.

  25. Oh, good, people to talk to about this! I NEVER watch this show, and for some reason this season I'm all into it--but frankly, just like anything else I watch I want to see genuine people having genuine feelings. With Andy gone now all we have are the sh*tty ahole male celebrities, and the women who can actually dance. Jacobi, are you serious? He cannot for the life of him show any kind of respect for the others when they are all on camera together, and it drives me crazy! Good for Andy in giving it a shot. Plus, his pro is the hottest thing on that show! Too bad.....
