This son of a former A+ list mostly movie actor is afraid to come out to his parents. He is not scared to come out to his mom, but thinks she will tell the dad. Considering what the dad has said in the past about gay people in private, I think I would be scared too.

ReplyDelete@Peter, yeah.. my gaydar is usually terrible at best, but I've wondered about Patrick more than once for some unknown reason, and his dating Taylor Swift right around the time he began actively pursuing a modeling career gave me further pause for thought.

ReplyDelete@F281561, Clark Gable was not gay. It was long rumored that he "tricked" - ie, received oral service - from Billy Haines, a huge star in the 1920s who quit the screen to become an interior designer after Louis B. Mayer insisted Haines give up his boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteThe supposed Haines servicing of Gable would have taken place when Gable was a struggling, unsigned and probably broke beginning actor and Haines was one of the top stars in Hollywood.
Years later, during the making of Gone With the Wind, director George Cukor, one of the leading lights of the Hollywood gay community, reportedly ireferred to Gable as "one of Billy Haines' old tricks". Gable heard about it and had Cukor fired and replaced with Victor Fleming.

Myers played Stdio 54 owner Steve Rubell & young pretty boy Phillipe is in his office looking for a favor. Phillipe tells myers he will let Myers service him if he wants. Rubell answers "You are the one coming to me for a favor. Shouldn't you be servicing me instead?"

ReplyDeleteI agree this is Patrick. Arnold's views would be private if not for his own political career but his in-laws before that. He's come off as a pro-gay republican but the body building world isn't exactly known for that.
ReplyDeleteCount Jerkula: I recall years ago reading an article (in Spy Magazine, I believe. Many of its writers now write for VF) that did a sort of expose on young Arnold S. According to article, when he first came to Hollywood, he lived in the guest house or guest quarters of a notorious gay benefactor. His duties included something called "polishing the helmet!" LOL
