LeAnn Rimes' Record Flops

With as much publicity as LeAnn Rimes gives herself and creates for herself and as much as she has been promoting her new record, you still need to make a record that is good before people will buy it. The first week sales of her new record Spitfire just barely passed the 12,000 mark. That is record label dropping you bad. The numbers will go up if she goes on tour but that would mean leaving Eddie Cibrian behind which is something she is loathe to do. She is willing to go play a show here and there as long as she can get back home the next day, but she is not going out on the road for months and months unless Eddie goes with her and that is unlikely. On a side note, it is one of the more ugly cover photos I have seen in a long time. I really thought she would go with a bikini photo or a photo of her cheating with Eddie.

  1. He'll find a new young trick who hasn't heard his BS yet, when the $ runs out.

Do I seem cynical in saying that? darnit.

  2. That cover really is bad, and she looks like a cross between Lindsay Lohan and herself there.

  3. Brandi said it best, "no one wants to hear you cry over getting everything you wanted."

  4. I don't understand that blurry line running down the side of her face.

  5. The whole Leann, Eddie, Brandi thing was and is a mess. I have heard her sing a couple of times lately on late night shows, I have to say she sounded good. Is this a case of your crappy personal life overshadowing your professional life?

  6. @Sugar, it's whoever designed this flop cover's idea of edgy. rme

  7. Is it wrong for me to be glad it flopped? um, nope. I hope she runs out of money and her husband runs into someone else's life. Spitfire, shit fire.

  8. Somewhere right now, Brandi is laughing her @ss off.

It's sad that Leanne's album flopped though. She is a talented singer. It's too bad her ego got in the way of her album and she wrote all about how she's the victim. people aren't going to sympathize with her. She stole another woman's husband away, and has flaunted it in the world's and the ex wife's face...like it's something to be proud of.

    Karma sucks.

  9. Maybe it's her 'spit' line?

  10. @Del Riser, that has to be what it is. I'm not a fan of her music, but I've heard her singing some of the songs from that album recently and she did sound good, which kind of surprised me because I forgot she had talent. Spitfire as a song isn't even that bad, however knowing the story behind it lessened the appeal. That song Borrowed probably could be a single if everyone didn't know all the parties involved and sympathize with Brandi. She did this to herself.

Go buy yourself some more friends and Twatter followers Leeann, you're gonna need their pseudo shoulders to cry on when things inevitably go south for you.

She promoted the hell out of her sad sad sad life and how nobody understands her and all the lies everyone is telling about her and how she has no regrets. Every talk show sent went on, she talked about that. Girl should have not mentioned her cheating, husband-stealing ways, and maybe the CD would have sold better.

  12. The album has gotten some good reviews by music critics. I haven't heard it, but I tend to judge music on its own merit and not that of the morals of the singers/musicians. I would have to chuck most of collection if I judged them all on their personal lives.

  13. omg Sugar, I think you may be right. This could easily win tasteless cover of the year award.

  14. Yeah I think if she had just written songs that were interesting instead as a fuck you to Brandi it may have garnered more sales. Don't forget country plays to a more conservative audience typically and adultery is adultery. No matter how "wronged" you were Leann.

That cover is tremendously awful. I imagine that's what she looks like when she's alone, broken, flat, and mentally unstable.

  16. @Libby: I doubt Leann's $$ is gonna run out anytime soon.

I would never listen to anything she did except maybe a Xmas album, so could someone tell me if this album is more country or pop?

If she wants to make some dough, she should do a cover of Smell Yo Dick, outlining her paranoia about Eddie.

  17. I love country music. I love Trisha Yearwood ( the other woman), Miranda Lambert ( the other woman) and I'm sure I like other less than stellar track record leading country ladies. But for Leanne to do what she has done against Brandi on Twitter, recently in interviews ( calling her a loser and a liar) when the boys she supposedly cares about are watching too... I just can't . She may have a good voice but she has a lousy ego and no regard for those boys she supposedly cares about.

we just DONT like her and probably never will. Lost any fan base she had over dick. Money over dick , leanne!

  20. I am not a big country fan but I actually listened to the album on YouTube (rather than hating it because she/he/it cheated and I don't really give a fuck about the whole circus) it is much more country than her last efforts and is actually quite a good album. Borrowed is a beautiful song and Girl Like You is a catchy ear worm. People have forgotten that despite all of the gossip, she has an amazing, powerful voice. It is too bad that she spent so much of her promotion time talking about the affair because the album could have stood on its own without the back story.

Btw, this is her last contractual album with her label so she actually will probably switch labels but not because she was dropped.

And I am always amused that everytime there's a Leann story on here, a bunch of unknown new people start coming on to say how amazing Brandy is. Do I think Leann to some extent brought this on herself? Yes. But just go on Radar to see the bunch of (I assume) women who have devoted their life to bringing down Leann in order to vindicate a woman they know from a TV show. Where they get the time, I don't know.

I will probably buy a few of the songs, but then again I figure her's , Eddie's and Brandi's relationship is their own business.

  21. Leann really should have just shut up and sang! because we know she has the raw talent. I feel like (in much the way she rants and whines everywhere including twitter) she has a case of serious entitlement.
she needs to keep honing her voice through lessons and work on being humble publicly and graceful- but she hasn't.

    That's karma

  22. @count, I'm not sure about that. She only sold 12k the first week and those CDs are only $10. She only performs at casinos or the zoo and she can't sell those places out. She goes on vacation every other day. That money doesn't last forever.

And her problem is she's psychotic. I like reading her timeline because she constantly shocks me on her craziness factor. She's been arguing this album is a success and even argued with chart news over her ranking lol.

  23. She seems like an extremely effed up person and that comes through in all of her coverage. But the deep analysis of her album cover is crazy. Its a close up shot of someone who doesn't have a terribly attractive face and knows it, the end. It looks like an album cover from the eighties.

  24. @Onyx: She is probably living off the interest of the money she made between 13-20. She has sold over 37million albums in her career and did god knows how many tour dates. Unless she is spending on tigers, giraffes and high dollar art to crate up and sit in a warehouse, she prolly don't need to work for anything but the attention.

  25. She's sure been pushing this CD on Twitter, I had no idea sales were that low

  26. Do artists manipulate their album sales #'s like authors do?

I remember reading that Ted Turner bought like 10000 copies of one of his bios to guaranty his spot on the NYT bestseller's list. It has been alleged Howard Stern did the same for the book his wife lent her name to. Anyone that believes she wrote a book, when she couldn't save a file in Word, needs their head examined.

    1. Yep, thats it! LeAnn bought all 12,000 albums. :-)

  27. She was on the View yesterday and actually seemed quite contrite and regretful of the attention paid to her relationship with Eddie and whatever her name is. She sang and it reminded me how good she really is. Baba Wawa asked her some pointed questions. She said the songs were written 2 years ago and reflected her life then and that they all needed to move on.

  28. That is a terrible album cover. I dont get the pic of her either. I do like the shade of blue in the "Spitfire" word though. They should have kept the Spitfire part, taken her name off of it, and put a paper bag over her face. Then it would have went platinum.

  30. I used to like her, now I can't stand listening to her admittedly good singing voice because when I do so, I think of all the BS she's done. I can't separate it in my head. It'd take too much effort, and frankly she's not worth it.

shes soooo unlikable. how does she have any fans left?

  32. She has had a very sad life. Her parents took $ from her, she was on her own as a teen-on, her first husband was gay; that ended, no record company has really known what to do with her, she never had the body her career sort of demanded so she starved herself into an eating disorder, her face was not quite beautiful/distinctive/strong enough and was modified, she married a man who wanted her money rather than her, she has no children. She may have what Brandi dreams of, but surely no one else does. Leann is just kinda sad.

  33. The song Borrowed is really quite pretty. And she sounds amazing on it.But the video is awful. She's trying to be all dramatic when she sings and she just look really strange. She's so skinny and she keeps flopping her long bony arms around. It' s distracting. If you close your eyes and listen it's a really good song.

  34. Awww... @Me, that gave me the sads. Anyway, LeAnn is a great singer crappy person. Self centered to the extreme.

    ReplyDelete
  35. "She is loathe to do."

I think you meant to use the adjective, which is "loath." In contrast, "loathe" is a verb. Don't get all fancy if you're gonna screw it up. ;)

  36. I try really hard to avoid saying flat-out that people look ugly in photos because I am so utterly unphotogenic myself, but my GOD.

She looks like a very unconvincing drag artist in that picture, and the photo itself appears to have been taken by a self-employed photographer who does cons and posts the cosplay pics on their deviantart account.

  37. The worst thing LeAnn ever did was get involved with Eddie. He has done nothing but make her this paranoid, crazy, freakazoid who used to have this amazing talent and some dignity. if you really think abou when all the madness started it was when she got with him. It is really kind of sad when u just step back and look at what has happened to her. I keep asking where is that nice girl that sang Patsy Cline's Blue? We miss that LeAnn this one is just sad and pathetic and will only become more of a joke and will keep going downhill if she stays with this POS. I know she is a big girl and makes her own decisions but even the most successful ppl can get caught in a bad situation and not even realize it. I think her self-esteem has been ripped to nothing and he has gotten complete control over her. I wish she would realize she is so much better off w/o him IMHO

  38. Her album received great reviews. I once felt sorry for Brandi, but she went the reality show route and lost my empathy. The crazy that Brandi brings now equals the crazy that LeeAnn brings. They probably enjoy their feud more than they like Eddie C. That said, I'm more pop and rock than country.
