Blind Item #4
This foreign born former A+ list mostly movie actor from some of the greatest movies ever has kind of disappeared over the past few years. He was previously married for only a few months because he caught his actress wife cheating on him. Our actor had the actress banned from acting for almost a decade after the incident. Actually banned. Not blacklisted.

It isn't Clint Eastwood, but he pretty much destroyed Sandra Locke's career when they split up.

Lauren Holly married a rich guy, moved to his house in Lake Forest Ill. & then to Canada & became a Canadian citizen.

ReplyDeleteCould this be someone from an authoritarian country where a person actually could be banned from acting b/c the state controls all the media? e.g. China, Iran or Saudi Arabia. I can't think of an international superstar from a place like that, however.

ReplyDeleteNo hard feelings Derek. I agree it's a stretch, but so are a lot of Enty's titles. Anyways, Carrey/Holly is the best fit I can think of. She got some shit gigs but nothing big for a while after they split. Plus, Holly was rumored to have been cheating, and some allegations were that she was also having an affair with a woman....

ReplyDeleteI thought Sean Connery would work out. Sondra Locke was really good in her Oscar-nominated debut in The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter! Waifish and not the kind of talent to sustain a decades-long career, but who knows? I've never seen her in anything else though.

Jeremy Irons was married for less than a year to an actress in 1969, though I wouldn't say he's disappeared in the last few years since doing TV.

ReplyDeleteThat being said, I can't remember anyone from some of the "greatest movies ever" who was only married for a few months. Young enough where he could still be acting but isn't - old enough to have someone banned for 10 years (and powerful enough at the time of the banning to have the juice to do that).
@Kristin (Wiglet) Farrell was married to Jamie Dornan's wife. She a singer.
