Blind Items Revealed - Old Hollywood

March 14, 2014

On the set of one of her better known movies, this then A-list funny lady invited her male costar, an Oscar winning character actor, to her dressing room to put the rumors to rest that she was really a man. Right as she shut the door, off came her top and out came her breasts.

Mae West/Victor McLaglen/"Klondike Annie"

    1. I know right Zeeky? Mae West was a notorious flasher and people were enormously (no pun intended) impressed with her bosom.

  7. I agree, @Sandybrook. What's in the bloomers is the most reliable indicator.
I call BS six ways from Sunday. I've never had any idea WTF that means. Totally nonsensical phrase, but sounds folksy.

  8. Cannot believe anyone accused Mae West of being a man. Phyllis Diller, in her later years, yes.

  9. There are several reasons this item pings my veracity-meter. Then again, if I wanted pure truth I wouldn't be on a gossip site, would I?

  10. Mae West getting her boobs out is hardly news, surely?

  11. How can that be a bi? I thought this was common knowledge if youre a mae west fan. She was well known for doing stuff like that.

  13. If someone thought Mae West was a man than they didn't get out much!

  14. It wasn't the top half they wondered about…

  15. I think it may have been in the new Hollywood Babylon book (or not..I forget where I heard stuff from) but there was an old rumor that Mae West the star died young and her brother took over the character at some point.

  16. So? Sounds like typical Mae West behavior, nothing shocking or otherwise blind-worthy.

  17. Mae West and Phyllis Diller looked like men, but Phyllis had SIX KIDS! We all know she was not a man. Mae West needs to take off her panties, not her blouse.

  18. I would have needed to see the bottoms come off for proof!!

  19. No, I'd say the top coming off was plenty proof enough. Boob jobs just were not happening on every street corner back in tha day.

  20. Victor's son Andrews is still alive and kicking. Lives in Friday Harbor; was married to the long time friend of one of my former co-workers. She passed away in 2005.

  24. Yay, love a bit of Vic. Not exactly a subtle actor, but by God he could command a screen. Him and John Ford were quite the duo.
