  17. OT:
Many women, when marry, they somehow stop having male friends, husbands expect that too. Yet, some men, (maybe all, don't know) strike up new female friendships without a thought. And keep those friends a secret.
    Why?

  18. Ya, props to Diane & Emily (but Emily could lose the scarves, unless shes a singer like Leto)

  19. "Long time no see in the photos for Matthew Lillard."

Uhhh, that's because Matthew Lillard hasn't been a thing since the 90's! (Though I did love him in Scream and thought he was awesome in Thir13en Ghosts which is one of my all time favorite campy horror movies.)

    just my perspective...

really short. my ex had faith in himself that he could stay friends with women but was scared to death that id turn my male friendships into a torrid affair. he is an extroverted social person and i am an introverted non-social so it kinda "worked". take that for what its worth. ((shrugs))

oh, i cant speak on the keeping it a secret part...he didnt do that.

  21. Ok @fancyscreenname, here's what's bothering me:
We lived in a city, we left the city and stopped talking to those friends because it was very unlikely he would be back. 2 years later, he is traveling to that region on business, regularly.
I saw last night he is messaging with them again, which tells me he says he is one city but is actually traveling to that other city at times to visit old friends.

    1. And we are not talking get in a car and drive 2 hours, we are talking get on a plane one hour and then on train for another hour and a half.
Must be some really special friends.
Oh, after having flown almost 16 hours to that region.

My ex (social) finds it very hard to break ties with friends. old friends..new friends..women..men. that is just who he is. for many years i (non-social) found it hard to fathom and it caused a bit of turmoil in our relationship. i wasnt letting him be him. just because "I" didnt find strength and comfort in those types of connections (my family is all i need) doesnt mean that i should take that away from him.

again, just my perspective. perhaps he is just a person who clings to those connections for some sort of comfort. that is not necessarily a bad thing. sometimes our significant other finds something in others that we cant give them its not necessarily a salacious thing.

    1. Thank you fancy, he is an introvert, regardless if that, everyone needs connections to feel special. Thank you for reminding me there are many reasons for everything, not all things are what they seem at first.

  24. @Runs that sounds mighty fishy, I really hate to say. Your posts seems like you know that. Just keep your eyes and ears wide open. I've been there. I hope so much that I'm wrong and there's nothing salacious going on.

  29. @Runningwithscissors, if he tells you that you can't have male friends, then you need to tell him to get his head out of his ass. Befriending someone of the opposite sex does not mean there is a sexual attraction. I think the first red flag would be him telling you who he preferred to be your friends.

If he isn't telling you that he is hanging out with his female friends, that is also a problem. If they are just friends, there should be no reason to keep it hush hush.

  31. Diane Kruger is such a gorgeous woman. And if that Kindness Blind reveal is true, she has a golden heart too.

  32. Thanks ladies.
We are all grown women here, we know no one should dictate to us what to do or hang out with, I've only been preconditioned by my conservative upbringing.
All has been cleared, he willingly handed me his phone to look at the threads, one is an old friend, the other two are sales/quality reps from two suppliers he's been having A LOT of problems with. I read the messages.

Hey, we can never be too sure of what we have, be always proactive and a bit suspicious, no?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Runs, handing you the phone freely is what you would expect an innocent man to do. I have no problem with you questioning it. It shows you really love him..that's everything! Nothing wrong with your upbringing and being "aware". It's important to give the vibe of "love" and not the wagging finger. You did the right thing by communicating. Good for you sweetie!

  35. Benedict Cumberbatch. The fuss over this guy I simply do not get. He's an actively homely man which doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to enter any profession he chooses and go as far as his abilities will take him but how he has come to be thought of as sexy is a mystery. He actually negatively impacts the sexiness of everyone in the universe by his existence. He also looks like he would smell like sour milk but that may just be remembered trauma on my part from sitting next to Stanley B in first grade who looked a lot like BC and always smelled like sour milk.

  36. Oh I'm so glad @runs!

  37. Emily Van Camp looks like she has her shoes on the wrong feet. That is all.

  38. Must be most of you readers don't watch "The Bridge". Matthew Lillard was really good in it, hope he's in the next season too.

  39. Because sexiness is not just about looks and you can be sexy without being handsome or beautiful. Look at Wallis Simpson for example.

You have to watch BC on the Graham Norton show, the one with Harrison Ford is a good one. BC is witty and smart and funny. That's sexy. And with actors it also is the kind of roles they play.
