Blind Items Revealed

January 17, 2014

This A list mostly movie actress/Academy Award winner/nominee has always been reclusive and stand offish. Something in the past couple of months has changed about her though and the actress who once would barely acknowledge fans or be spotted in the daylight has turned into an entirely different person. She actually went on a date last week and the actress was all over her date. Everywhere they went. Maybe she is on meds? A complete 180. Someone actually said the actress was fun now. Never a word associated with her previously.

Jessica Chastain

  1. Maybe she just finally got comfortable with her fame? I like her and she's always seemed fun to me so idk.

    1. That's what I was thinking. Or maybe she's just generally a quiet person.

    2. Seeing the two of them side by side I don't really see a resemblance other than the chin & obvious red hair. A few years ago I couldn't tell them apart.

    3. To me, they have similar eyes, eyebrows, mouths, chins, face shape, and coloring.
The nose is the biggest difference, but a few years ago they could easily be mistaken for each other.

  5. Way to go Enty for noting that a total change is a 180 and not a 360. Your high school geometry teacher would be so proud. Enty must be the opposite to my hypotenuse, because he is always right <3

    1. Good point Violet. The gender could've previously been the wrong one.

  7. That's mean. In an interview she talked about her childhood, born to impoverished teenagers, sister committed suicide, bullied her whole life because she was a ginger and with her interest in theater causing her to be treated like an outcast in her lower working class background.

She could only go to Julliard because Robin Williams paid for her scholarship. Her mother was penniless.

I think a lack of interest in a love life has more to do with her horrible upbringing and a desire not to get trapped than anything else.

    1. I went to high school with her, she was a year behind me, I don't recall her getting bullied because of her hair or treated like an outcast because she was in our theater productions....

    2. I feel like claiming that you were bullied is the new black.

  8. I don't know if this is a misconception because Tom Hardy talks about working with Jessica on the film Lawless with great affection, they had a constant scrabble game going on set, constant joking around and pranks, they adopted a stray who kept hanging around the set which Hardy took home to England, good old Woodstock. It may be that she was so focused at making it and she is clearly she takes her acting seriously and also overworked she was doing films back to back that may she is finally relaxing more in public. She was kibbutzing with Gerard Butler on the red carpet when they were promoting Coriolanus at the Berlin Film festival and at TIFF. I think Butler has or had a major crush on her but even he knew she was too good for him LOL. That and Jessica said she had one bad experience with a co-star early in her career and never again.

  9. Perhaps, she has trust issues? I can't remember her being followed so much by paparazzi, till now. She's just getting used to the whole Hollyweird thing.

  10. Um. This is a blind why? Because Chastain's not a diva Ho who uses anyone for fame and doesn't Diva every second of the day?

Holly shit. She's normal and still a blind.

  11. I agree that Jessica is just focused on her career. I think she was secretly hoping/dreading winning an Oscar and now that she hasn't she just gonna relax. You can never tell what will be critically acclaimed until the finish product is offered up. She's got a solid enough base to continue working now without worrying about being a flash in the pan. Who wouldn't be more relaxed?

And that side by side picture is pretty amazing. Seriously they could pass for sisters. I am surprised no one has written something to take advantage of that. Excellent casting.

    1. I just saw Chastain on WWHL, and while she was shy, she laughed at every joke Craig Ferguson made (he was the other guest that night). I never would have thought she'd be a guest on a show like that, but I agree that she's really starting to loosen up (maybe to change her image?).

As for her being a Snow (or would it be Sand or Flower?), I wouldn't be surprised. However, Ron Howard had a plotline in the last season of Arrested Development where Ilsa Fisher played his secret love child. So I don't know. Would he really do a storyline like that if it was true?

  12. It has always been obvious that she is very shy. It's too bad that people take shyness as being a snob or standoffish. Her costars seem to like her so,how bad can she be? Now she's probably comfortable being a"movie star" and she wants to be more open to her fans and she's being criticized for that. Can't win.

Also, no way is Ron Howard her daddy. He wouldn't let her live in poverty as a child. He has enough"people" to get money to the mother without anyone knowing. Opie wouldn't let his kid suffer. She does look like Bryce Dallas though.

  13. There is something strange about her. She's either hiding something or she is uncomfortable but I definitely see something odd in her facial expressions.

  14. This dates back to January when she had just finished filming Interstellar which will probably be the blockbuster of the year. Buzz is already that she'll get an Oscar nomination for her role playing McConaughey's daughter who grows up when he time travels. Maybe working on it was a great experience and being in a film which might finally get widely seen also gave her some confidence.

  15. I think she has some issues with her childhood or daddy issues and I think she wants to be taken seriously.
I think in her mind she has a lot to prove, possibly to a father who never claimed her and a sister in the same field who was given a life that could have been hers.

  16. Maybe she started drinking.

  17. She even went on WWHL recently.

  18. Wait! Maybe she's not Ron Howard's daughter, maybe she's CLINT Howard's daughter, hence why she hides it!

  19. @Sarah: Jessica's sister committed suicide. She had two half sisters that she isn't close with...Are you talking about Bryce and Paige Howard?
Sounds like she's had a lot of shit in her life and I can't say I blame her for being so guarded

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think she lies about everything, including her past/age/whatever, and she's guarded because she doesn't want the web of lies to unravel.

    1. I can tell you she's 37.

    2. Which is refreshing.

Met her twice. She is a very nice person, well spoken - normal and an adult - but yes, she is shy until she feels comfortable in the conversation and that the person across her us not a freak. Kind of like many of us, no?
And besides - she wants to taken seriously as an actress (like Streep) which means she's not going be
      Ho-ing it (like all others).

  21. actually streep is well known for sleeping with her co-stars.. she considers it method that way.. love love that streep is a ho!!! but unlike julie-ro she doesnt force her men into the affair, they love their flings.. all actors know the deal amd look forward to it. she and her long married husband have an agreement..fwiw..

  22. Apropos of nothing, when did all the ginger hate start?! It just seemed to become the funny, cool thing to do in the last 5-10 years. Personally, I think redheads are stunning, and only 4% are natural and not out of a bottle...fun fact! Ginger guys -- hello, Prince Harry! -- are welcome in my...er...home...anytime. (Although Benedict can keep the Sherlock black, thanks. He's still definitely more than welcome either way.)

I don't believe the Ron Howard rumour. Heheheheh, CLINT, though...Rowdy, you were on fire this weekend, dude. LOL.

I also wonder if "bullied" is the new black. As a social worker, I hate to make light of anyone's pain, but...come on. The whole "I was SUCH a nerd, and ugly, and I had glasses"...okay, I was ALL of those things. And I WAS bullied. Had my head slammed into a paper towel dispenser once...I think that was the worst, maybe, although the constant fear and being told that I was nothing might have been far damaging. I still have days where those tapes play in my head and I believe them. (Social worker, heal thyself! Were that it were that easy.) Anyway, we're ALL dealing with shit, but don't make it up or magnify it for shit like better press or a higher Q score.

    1. I'm a ginger. Didn't even know they were called 'Gingers' until Prince Harry was born. Most of the time, we're called carrot-tops. And there are always the idiots who ask if the curtains match the drapes {eye-roll}. I was lucky to have the curly dark auburn hair with brown eyes. Just when I was getting to like my red color...it turns brown on me with touches of gray. So unfair...
