Blind Item #3
This A+ list mogul/reality star who really wants to be a rapper won't speak out publicly against this new show, but is making sure behind the scenes that people know he is against it. A lot of his financing comes from people who consider the show to be hateful and want to make it clear they won't provide money for any projects to people who support it.

So, what's going on behind the scenes at Empire? I know nothing about it except for the TV promos I saw. Why is everyone against it?
ReplyDeleteI am not certain glue- but I guess it exposes a lot of things/ people in hip hop industry? Also- as Lisa said ego involved I think. Diddy wouldn't let his son appear on it, but that's all he said bout it I think

ReplyDeletediddy won't let his kid on the show because all of the contracts require people to sign some rights over concerning their music. He wants his son to keep his "intellectual property"

-50 Cent was really pissedoff about the show too cuz he said it's a total rip-off of HIS STARZ Series 'Power"....
Yep, Puff Daddy. He won't let his stepson, Quincy, play on the show cause he can't get the royalties. I LOVE Empire. Daddy is such a diva.

ReplyDeleteThat said, Empire is FANTASTIC. Terrence "babywipes" Howard is freaking amazing and Taraji P. Henson is unbelievably good. It's "Dynasty" in the music industry and it's fucking awesome. They are, however, not pulling any punches. If Puff Daddy sees himself and doesn't like it, it's not Lee Daniels' fault.
