Blind Item #11 - Old Hollywood
This actor was on an all-time hit show. He was not the lead, but was second fiddle. This was an iconic show with an iconic actress. Our actor was a drunk and only got hired because he was best friends with the lead actor of the show who was married to the actress,. Our actor would generally be drunk while shooting and was hated by the woman who played his wife.

Yes, Sunny- she was amazing.Very established Theatre actress, as well.

ReplyDeleteCBS didn't want frawley cause he was a known drunk so put clause in his contract that if he ever showed up drunk, he would be fired.

They were both funnier than Lucy and Ricky. Considering the information here, which I've never heard before, it's amazing they got anything accomplished.

Frawley was HATED by everyone on every show he was on, how he got more than one role is freaking amazing. Desi liked him because they were both drunks, lol. If you look at the age difference now between Vance & Frawley, it's pretty hilarious. No woman is marrying a man IRL that's

He was written out of My Three Sons because the studio couldn't get insurance on him after he had cancer. He died a year or so later of a heart attack.

ReplyDeleteYeah, pretty much common knowledge Bill Frawley was drunk. It was mentioned in the very bad made-for-TV-movie made a few years ago.
