She might have the title but when producers saw some of her (B list mostly movie actress) first footage they replaced her. Actually they said they were bringing someone in to advise her, but she was replaced.
She wasnt awful as a bitch in Ray Donovan. If she doesnt know how to direct she should be replaced. Ive seen nothing she's done that shows she has that creative ability.

Not Really when you think about it--I don't see many Actresses trying to direct a movie...Courtney Cox?Helen Hunt? BUT Actresses turning to Directing has been going on for years (WAY before Angie) -Barbra Streisand since 1983; -Penny Marshall since 1988; -Jodie Foster since 1988; -Adrienne Shelly since 1997 {until her tragic murder} -Sally Fields in 19996 -Bonnie Hunt in 2000; These are Ones I thought of off the top of my head...
I still stand by & defend Katie Holmes in "Pieces Of April".... she was really good in it & you root for her to the end --Sweet Indie Movie that can be watched at anytime .. it's not just a Thanksgiving/Holiday flick!
MOST people do not perform all that well in their first couple of attempts at directing. It is DIFFICULT. Not gonna trash someone for having the courage to try it.
