David Cassidy Has Died

David Cassidy, who came to fame as a '70s teen heartthrob and lead singer on "The Partridge Family," has died, according to his publicist Jo-Ann Geffen. He was 67.

The singer-actor had recently been admitted to the intensive care unit of a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, area hospital. Cassidy was in critical condition and suffering from organ failure before his death Tuesday, Geffen said.

"David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years," she said.

  8. Did he go back to the bottle?
    If his dementia was increasing
he could have forgotten to drink water
Dehydration can bring on kidney failure.
Yes, I know I'm making excuses for my
    1st boyfriend ever

  10. @B626,he wanted to go quickly, even talking about assisted suicide. He did not want to go through or put his family through what he went through with his mother.

  11. It's not like I thought much about David Cassidy in decades but I found myself surprisingly sad and feeling nostalgic today. I kind of hope someone reruns the Partridge Family now.

He seems like he was a pretty unhappy guy for a long time and always uncomfortable with his fame. RIP.
