The LA Times got five women to go on the record about behavior by James Franco that was an abuse of power. Two of them women had previously called out James on social media. What I think is going to be next is there is going to be a flood of women from his "acting schools," who are going to come forward and repeat the same stories told by these five women. Basically, Franco promised them roles in his movies if they agreed to get naked or have sex with him. If they refused, then they would get no roles. Even if they did get a role, it was more often than not for hooker or stripper or some other throwaway character.
It also appears that the only students in his acting classes who ever got considered for roles were women. No guys. I wish the Times would have asked his attorney, who denied all the charges, why the two acting schools closed in the dead of night without any notice.
One of the acting students said a shoot was in a strip club for what was supposed to be a jeans commercial. She says when everyone got there, it obviously had nothing to do with jeans and was just an excuse for Franco and his pals to film a bunch of women in lingerie and masks. When he asked which women would get topless or naked and none agreed, he stormed off.
There is one movie discussed where it sounds as if Franco just wanted to have sex with a bunch of women and have them naked while they worshiped him and then put it all on film with no hope it would ever see the light of day outside his living room. The guy is so exploitative.
WTH is with that picture and why does it look like blood all over that woman?

One of the classes offered at his school was James Franco’s Sex Scenes master class. That right there is my new nightmare.

She signed a contract for 100.00 to be fully nude in a film, she did this not once but twice, her story never indicates any assault, just that he wanted nude women in a film. Sure that makes him a bit perv, but come on. She said she talked to him once about the fact that the nudity did not seem necessary or whatever, well its his "film" Quentin does not need to have 7million gallons of fake blood in a film either, but its his..
ReplyDeleteNow if he is telling other women that he will only give them a part etc if they sleep with him, that is totally different. That is abuse of power, and the ones where I have heard that he assaulted is a total different issue was well.
He is a pig, but the ones that are using this # to try to get their 15 minutes of fame, are going to do more harm than good for those that were truly abused.
@Truthseeker I read the article and I hope you are able to read it incognito when you get home. I had an initial reaction to her tweets in line with yours (sorta) but the article looks much worse when told in full. IMO she should not have attempted to put her story out there 140 characters at a time. She did herself no favors by the condensed version. Anyway, read the article for a fuller story and see if you agree with me.

Just from reviews of his movies, I already considered Franco one of the most punchable, pretentious knobs I've seen in a long time. But in a world where "consenting adults" is the only requirement, I can't see anything illegal here. Seedy and exploitative, sure, but not illegal, unless he made specific promises and then broke that contract, which would be hard to prove since surely nothing was written down. But maybe it will prompt others to come forward with more serious charges.

There were rumors regarding her connection to Franco, some people say she was hired by him as an escort and that's how she snatched a little part in one of his movies, while others say she enrolled in one of his acting schools and slept with him for the part.

I suspect there's already another pending article that will focus specifically on why they closed and that said article with make Franco's statements look outright lies. That's how the New Yorker & NYT handled the Weinstein story.

I'm surprised, just like Piven, why is that no guys have come forward to denounce Franco? He's known to hook up with barely legal teen boys too. So this is my story I was planning on telling back in the other blinds. I'm a trilingual guy who makes a living off PR and using my language skills to travel the world as an interpreter to CEOS, executives and then totally by chance celebrities in hollywood.
ReplyDeleteSo in 2012, Franco was in Sao Paulo (Brazil) to promote something I can't remember, I think it was for Sao Paulo Fashion Week or something. Anyway... He headed down to a famous gay club called "A LOCA" (the crazy lady), known for being an underground haven of street artists and obviously a gay club. Franco went down on a particular Sunday, where they hold a famous gathering named Grindr (I kid you not, that precedes the gay app by a decade though). This night is known for two things: one its a night for rock lovers who happen to be gay, two, its a matinee so teenagers can hang and unlike the Brazilian night life that starts as 11pm and goes up to 10 am next morning, this one ends at 1 am, so that teens can attend.
So Franco went down there and hooked up with two guys (they could've been of age, but were nonetheless very young looking, one did sport a beard though). His pictures even circulated around Brazilian Social Media, it was no secret. You can't find the pictures anymore, but if you google "A LOCA" + "James Franco" several pages of his antics at the gay club are still up. You can use google to translate them and check for yourself.
As a bonus point, Daniel Brühl also hooked up with some guys at this club when promoting 'Good Bye Lenin' at the Sao Paulo International Film Festival, but as an European I don't think he cared. Several celebrities heading down Brazil to the renowned festival or to promote a brand end up at this gay club. I've heard Ashton Kutcher did it too but can't find proof. He did stay at a hotel close to it, so who knows? Bye.

I personally don't think Franco or any celeb, as a matter of fact, would have to attend matinees to hook up with teens and tweens in Brazil, it's the most common thing and I bet that gay club thing was just the tip of the iceberg, he probably had teens and tweens sent over to his hotel throughout his stay.

Modeling agencies also pimp their underage models to celebs and executives and it's no big deal. You might've heard of Rede Globo (the #1 soap operas network in the country) and they have created their own little Hollywood within the network itself.
A few years ago (maybe 2015, not sure) there was a mini-series called "Secret Truths" ( "Verdades Secretas" as its original titled) which revolved around the dirt behind scenes at modeling agencies. It was the story of this 16 year old model who sold herself as a prostitute to powerful executives in exchange for landing big gigs and how the agency encouraged it.
She "fell in love" with a powerful man twice her age, he married her mother as an excuse to have full access to her at all times and the public failed to see things for what it was: pedophilia. Instead, they "rooted" for the couple.
So when I say we're a doomed country, believe me. It's no different from Hollywood, only less glamorous.
I dont see the issue. He offered roles for sex, and chicks agreed. Chicks were asked to get naked. Xhicks participated in art projects. Where is the problem?

His taste for pretty young men (imo) was the reason for his post Golden Globe dinner exclusively for other Best Actor nominees, since it's not a tradition. I suspect he wanted a way to meet Timothée Chalamet without being obvious.

Wikipedia stated that she is one of Brazil’s most influential children on the internet. That is terrifying to think of other girls wanting to emulate this hyper sexualized little girl.
