Blind Item #10 - Mr. X - Old Hollywood

Back in the day, this foreign born A+ list mostly movie actress who was a multiple Oscar winner/nominee who once starred in a movie everyone knows dumped her husband for another actor. Apparently the husband she dumped, who was an A+ list mostly movie actor too, played a victim card by saying his wife wanted too much sex. He never complained about too much sex when it came to that long running affair he had with another actor who also hosted his own television show back in the day.

To me this is the most nauseating perverse story in all of the sordid history of Hollwyood. Imagine ignoring Vivian Leigh a smoking hot piece of ass a stellar 10 for...

  6. Would be funny if is Vivian Leigh and Lawrence Olivier, bc i remember once Olivier said that at one point he and Vivian Leigh were" like brother and sister...with some occasional incest" so, yeah, could be true that they were not having that much sex.

but Lawrence with another man? Never heard about this, but, who knows

Biographers have claimed Olivier was bisexual. His first wife was a lesbian.

I have read a few biographies claiming Leigh's first husband (Leigh Holman) and Olivier would argue over who would have sex with Vivien that night. Olivier fkd her in her marital bed with the husband knowing. Said husband was old & could not keep up.

Letters between Vivien & Olivier are steamy to say the least. Yes, the woman was ill but he always wrote how much he wanted her & asked her if she had "stroked herself." His words, not mine.

  7. wow is all i have to say to this one...don't know why it kinda shocked me...guess i'm dumb enough to believe stuff like this didn't happen back in the old days. whatever floats your boat i guess.

  8. Olivier apparently had affairs (allegedly) with Danny Kaye, Noel Coward, and Henry Ainsley. There are letters from the 30’s that Ainsley wrote Olivier, and that he kept for 50 years, until his death. There was an authorized biography on Olivier in 2005 that broadly discussed all this (and his widow, Joan Plowright) approved.

  9. My great uncle (who is 95) is gay. He was closeted through WWII. He and his fellow army soldiers would be on leave and they couldn’t understand why he wasn’t buying time with hookers. Left the army after being a POW, sold real estate. Dated women to cover his sexuality. Almost married one. Then met his partner for life. They (he and he) lived together for 40 years until partner died. During that time, he went on “dates” with women to cover. Even though they lived together (and I called both “uncle”), his own brother never realized my uncle was gay until he finally “came out” officially at age 80. I couldn’t believe my grandpa hadn’t figured it out- but sometimes denial is a strong thing.

  10. The rumors of Kay and Olivier have recently been debunked. Kay and a gentlemen of the name Ainsley may have had a thing and Olivier was friendly with both men. They did cheat (Leigh & Olivier) on each other. Olivier did try to help Leigh with her bipolar disorder to little avail since it was not a diagnosable condition at that time. They did go on to marry the people they cheated on each other with. I have attached 2 hyperlinks, one about their marriage and the other one debunking the homosexual relationship. https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a12809242/vivien-leigh-laurence-olivier-relationship/

I do want to figure this one out though.

  11. @ T. W

if he was bisexual, he would become even more interesting, in my eyes, bc so he was more complex than i thought..he is one of my fave of all times..one of the few that REALLY made me love acting

btw, the quote i remembered is this " [on ex-wife Vivien Leigh] We were like brother and sister, just as she always wanted. But fortunately, occasional incest was allowed." and these, too, were his words, not mine...so...what's the truth? who knows...and frankly, who cares how much sex they had.wished, if not to understand better their lives
