Today's Blind Items - The Whistleblower

Apparently horror done to tweens on television shows is not confined to the US. There was a show that aired in Australia which had multiple underage and barely legal actresses. One actress who was on this show which still airs in reruns in that country and here in the States is coming forward to talk about her experience on the show. She was legal when she was on the show, but was told she had to have sex with the producers or be axed from the show. She refused and she was blacklisted for nearly a decade. Meanwhile, a tween who was the star of the show let producers do what they wanted to her and she has had a very successful career since, along with a co-star who was barely a teen. In fact, the actress who was barely a teen was in a relationship once she was legal with the producer who had been molesting/raping her when she was on the show. They split after a couple of years of public dating. He is about three times her age. Apparently the actress that is coming forward has proof of all her allegations and says that a producer told her a couple of years ago that recordings existed at one point and maybe still do of almost every female cast member naked when they would change into costumes.

  3. Have no idea of Aussie shows except Neighbours

  4. I'm gonna say Neighbors, because it's the only long-running Australian TV show I've heard of. I believe Margot Robbie started on that program.

There's also one called Home and Away, which launched the careers of Naomi Watts and Chris Hemsworth.

  5. Does Neighbors have a lot of costumes?

  7. +1 Montana, I'm guessing H20: Just Add Water, it's definitely a tween show.

  9. "H2O: Just Add Water, also known as H2O, is an Australian dramatic fantasy television series for children and teenagers created by Jonathan M. Shiff. It first screened on Australia's Network Ten and runs in syndication on channels in over 120 countries and has a worldwide audience of more than 250 million."

  12. there was a show here in Australia called Young Talent Time which aired in the 70's and 80's. it was a skit shows with kids and teens where they would sing and dance. i'm hoping this isn't about that show ... but that would be my guess.

  13. I think this is an older show like Blue Water High.

  14. Montana and Brayson...H2O definitely was what ran through my head, as well. I dont know the actresses by name, but have definitely seen at least one or two of them on later shows

My guess is round the twist

  16. Tricia, Heath was in some episodes of 'Home and Away' in 1997 as a bad boy who was trying to get into a main character's pants.

  20. I think it's H2O as well. The girls were teens or underage when filming, and the producer (Jonathan Schiff) is an old dude who makes kid/tween shows.

They had fairly elaborate costumes to change in and out of as well according to the wiki.

  21. I loved a show called The Saddle Club. It was all tweener girls and they had adventures learning to ride horses and they formed the club of girls who were learning to be equestrians. It was filmed in Australia and on the air from 2001 to 2009. I really hope this isn't about these girls. It was such a sweet show about girls coming of age.

  23. I'm guessing the mermaid show as well. My daughter loved watching that show!

  24. Jonathan M. Shiff Productions - Every show they do is filled with teen girls.

  25. Australia's pedophile problem runs extraordinarily deep. Few people know that even Nicole Kidman's father was a horrific pedophile, and there have been whispers of Nicole's involvement in certain *dark arts* circles for years.

  26. So this show is no longer in production but reruns still show in Australia and the US? No idea but not Neighbours.

  27. Not sure about this one, but there used to be a show here in Oz called Hey Dad, and nearly 10 years ago the main star Robert Hughes got busted for molesting several young actresses on the show and was convicted for it, still in jail for it to this day.

    Karma is a bitch

  29. @Boonie.

That's nothing, Google 'Minipops' a show that aired back in the 80s here in the UK on Channel 4 (I think).

Paedo heaven it was. Even back then they scrapped it because of the pervo vibe. Apparently when it was on you could hear the fapping noises coming out of the Houses of Parliament, right across the River Thames.

It's just a wonder that it wasn't on BBC.

  30. The girls in H20 were all born in 1988 or 1989, and the first season was released in 2006. That wouldn't make any of them "barely a teen", I don't think. Would make them 15-17 during filming probably.

That being said Cariba Heine has not been as successful as Phoebe Tonkin or Claire Holt so that may make sense. Though reading the wiki it seems like Heine's character was the main character.

    1. She was in all the seasons .Claire left in the middle of it and was replaced by another actress in the final season . All 3 of the mermaids were main cast and cariba isn't as known these days as Phoebe and Claire are . H2o does seem to fit this description especially since they had mermaid tails to change into and Phoebe's Character had a younger sister on the show

  32. My girls used to watch H20 too, so that's my guess, it's the only Australian tween show I know lol

    ReplyDelete
  33. @TruRes I've heard of them (except for H20) but never watched them. I'm satisfied that I've never seen an episode of Neighbours or Home and Away in my life and gave no intention of changing that.

  34. I thought of h2o as well. My daughters loved that (and me too)

  35. Snuggz Bear-- Good Lord! Reading the description of that sweet little show within the context of the blind really makes ones head explode! It's stereotypical pervo fantasies galore! Surprised it never got syndicated!😜

  38. My little granddaughter loves mermaids and we have watched H2O on YouTube.

I love Claire Holt and was so excited to see her on this show, now I feel kind of sick. Won't be watching this again will just stick with animated "wheels on the bus". Screams!!

  39. Honestly, it's like they need to give chastity belts to these poor young actresses, at least while they're on set.

  43. Ugh.

First off, this fucking sucks to hear. I hope this person and others in her position have found some piece and haven't been discouraged about following their dreams.

I was thinking of more of the older shows, but only so many Australian shows still rerun in the US. The more I look at H2O, though, the more I think that's it. It's still popular around the world and rakes in so much money still. I knew someone who worked in a certain department that wasn't really involved in the 'every day' set operations (he never told me anything like this, but like that even matters or holds merit) but it was a show which invited a constant stream of teenage extras etc.

For something different that I don't think has been mentioned, I'll put Puberty Blues tv show; don't think it reruns anywhere but Oz tv productions are so small people overlap.

If it's an older show, I'll go with Neighbours because while has gone on to torture Australians for 10000 years, it did briefly end.

  44. I was thinking H2O as well. You still see it on cable now and then. I've never seen the Oz version of Neighbours

  45. Wow. This has been interesting reading. From now known pedos in Aus that I hadn't heard about before, to pedo friendly tv shows I hadn't heard about before. I did a lot of googling to learn the background of the people and shows named. I was surprised at the multiple upon multiple times victims had spoken up through the years and had been silenced. Not that I am surprised per say, but it is different reading actual examples. Thanks for all the new to me info.

  46. Neighbors and Home and Away are soap operas, there are no reruns in any country.
