Blind Item #7

It is hard to believe they are discussing it, but they are. This tiger blooded actor is in talks to rejoin the former brat packer turned A list adult actor on a reboot of their defunct hit.

  6. Herbert- depends on who you ask. Wikipedia says this:

The term "Brat Pack", a play on the Rat Pack from the 1950s and 1960s, was first popularized in a 1985 New York magazine cover story, which described a group of highly successful film stars in their early twenties.[1] David Blum wrote the article after witnessing several young actors (Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, and Judd Nelson) being mobbed by groupies at Los Angeles' Hard Rock Cafe.[2] The group has been characterized by the partying of members such as Robert Downey Jr., Estevez, Lowe, and Nelson.[3]

    ...

James Spader and Robert Downey Jr. have also been considered members, and performed alongside other Brat Packers: both of them with Andrew McCarthy in Less Than Zero;[14] Spader with McCarthy in Mannequin and with McCarthy and Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink; and Downey with Anthony Michael Hall (Weird Science and Johnny Be Good; and the cast of Saturday Night Live) and with Molly Ringwald (The Pick-up Artist). Other actors who have been linked with the group include Kevin Bacon, Matthew Broderick, Jon Cryer, John Cusack, Joan Cusack, Jami Gertz, Mary Stuart Masterson, Sean Penn, Kiefer Sutherland, and Lea Thompson.[2][7][9]

  8. Guess Sheen ran out of sh!t to sell for drugs. It's either reboot or start sukin' d!ck for money, and he doesn't go for the older guys.

  10. Per past Enty blinds, I thought Charlie Sheen was near death's door? Theoretically, isn't he supposed to be dead around now or at least in the near future?

    ReplyDelete
  11. If you weren't cast in "St.Elmo's Fire" you were not a brat-packer.

    ReplyDelete
  12. So Molly Ringwald wasn't a Brat Packer?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Basically if you were a lead in John Hughes 80's movies, or starred in Young Guns, you were a Brat Packer.

    ReplyDelete
  14. And it sounds like Sheen and Cryer, though I don't see how a "Men" reboot would accommodate Sheen if Chuck Lorre was still involved.

  15. Sheen has been trying to get back into 2 and a half men for 2 year now! 😔

  16. I’m going with a Young Guns remake.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Sheen was killed off in the first or second Young Guns though.

    1. First Young Guns. Worst, most embarrassing death scene in a movie. So appallingly bad it’s funny.

  18. Star in a john hughes movie = brat packer.

  19. Sheen was absolutely a Brat Packer. I think it's commented up above, but he was in "The Outsiders," which is also considered a Brat Pack movie.

Cryer was a fringe member of the Brat Pack as well.

I think this is about a reboot of Two and a Half Men. Not sure how that would work, though, since his character is allegedly dead, right?

Maybe it's Sheen and Rob Lowe for Spin City?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Rob lowe was not in Spin City

  21. Two and a Half Molesters.

  22. Sheen was not in the Outsiders. His brother Emilio was. Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Ralph Maccio, Emilio Estevez, Diane Lane, C. Thomas Howell, Leif Garrett, Sofia Coppola, Tom Waits, and a few others were in it, but no Charlie.

  23. Is two and a half men still on?

  24. Charlie Sheen wasn't in The Outsiders? Well, shit... lol.

Best line ever in a movie:

  28. It doesn't matter if Sheen is a brat packer. Tiger blooded actor = Sheen. Brat Packer = any young popular actor in the 80's.

I'm going to say his brother Estevez and that repo film they were in (I think).

  29. I thought Sheen was supposed to be dying of AIDS, and he better be, because I put him on my Death List for this year. I don't want any slackers on it! Olivia Newton-John, I'm looking at you, too!

Lordy, Charlie is definitely brat pack. Do none of you remember him in Farris Bueller's Day Off? He was the kid that his sister was making out with at the police station!

On that note, I wonder if they're talking about a reboot of FBDO? Because that would be awful unless it was their kids or something. If that's the case, I can see Sheen with Matt Broderick. I'd laugh if it ended up that Jennifer Grey's character ended up marrying Sheen's.

  32. Along with 'The Outsiders,' 'Taps' and 'Revenge of The Nerds' were considered early Brat-Pack ensemble pieces.

So by that rationale, include Timothy Hutton and Tom Cruise; Anthony Edwards, Robert Carradine, Booger (Curtis Armstrong), Poindexter (Timothy Busfield)...

And you can't have 'Some Kind of Wonderful' Lea Thompson and Mary Stuart Masterson and NOT have Eric Stoltz, but what about Craig Sheffer (Hardy Jenns).

And if you include Lea Thompson, wouldn't you think Michael J Fox - while older (like Swayze), should be in the Brat Pack, too - with Back to the Future in the same age bracket?

But then, Mare Winningham, also in St. Elmo's Fire, was the oldest but is not considered Brat Pack by most (I do, but...), but is Andie MacDowell?

  33. They've cured HIV with stem cells now, so Im sure a celeb like Charlie would know where to travel outside US to have treatments once they become more available. He's survived way too much to picture him ever going down.

Two and a Half Men is on at least six hours a day in reruns. I cant imagine anyone associated with it needing money, even Charlie.

    ReplyDelete
  34. A follow-up to Men at Work with Charlie, Emilio and Keith David. Charlie wants to call it Two and 3/5ths Men but Emilio and Keith are against that title.

  36. Jon Cryer was never in the Brat Pack.

How old is the person who writes this shit? Chaka Khan is a one hit wonder? Jon Cryer or Charlie Sheen were in the Brat Pack?

This site gets more stupid with time. Please get some writers who know what the fuck they are talking about!

  38. Cryer did an interview over the weekend where he was noncommittal about ever working with Sheen again, probably where this blind came from. However I think if Sheen were sober and they offered Cryer enough money he'd do it.

  39. Ohmygod. Does NO ONE remember the 80’s?? I clearly recall the Brat Pack consisted of MacGyver, Magnum P.I., Crockett and Tubbs, ALF, and that lady from Falcon Crest. I think the confusion lies in the fact that Charlie Sheen banged them all, but was not actually part of their group.

    ReplyDelete
  40. No one from Revenge of the goddamned Nerds was in the Brat Pack lol that's insulting

The Brat Pack proper was anyone in either The Breakfast Club and/or St Elmo's Fire plus RDJ. Everyone else was just Brat Pack-adjacent. Then the 2 Coreys and everyone who came after killed the Brat Pack because they were dorks.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Please not Charlie Sheen. I have enjoyed not seeing him.

  42. The two Coreys were the dorkiest trend that ever trended in the 80's.

Judd Nelson, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Andrew McCarthy,
    Anthony Edwards, Demi Moore,
Mare Winningham, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald.
