Blind Item #8

The trades are saying one thing, but no decision has been made about the arrested actor or the network show where he stars and probably won't be made until May.

  1. Yeah it's not like he tweeted something offensive, he only faked a hate crime. ;)

  2. The show is awful and has gotten worse every year so it should be cancelled.

  3. more like JS attempted a hate crime on white people.

He should serve the same prison time as if he was a rare real victim of a hate crime.

  4. You poor oppressed white person. So much hate. Obviously a trumptard.

  5. Should Jussie double-down and sue Empire/Fox for withholding his wages? If only we knew an entertainment lawyer that could explain why that is not likely to happen...

  6. I don't know a lot about the JS situation, although enough to realize he seems to be guilty of this crime, but it strikes me that we have the rule of law (at least in theory), and under that isn't he supposed to be innocent UNTIL proven guilty in a court of law?

    1. Thats a legal term that applies only to law enforcement and the courts. We are free here on CDAN to speculate his guilt as we please.

    2. @lightgirl the decision to be made is about the viewers and companies buying advertisements. The network is there to make money. The decision now is how much of a liability Smollet is for the show.

    3. Thank you @hot for saying this because that statement always irks me. I free to believe whatever I want. I’m not a judge or on a jury so I can assume away.

  7. The most damning thing about Smollett is that he was willing to put two innocent people in jail over his hoax.

When he was informed police had two suspects in custody, he was ready to testify against them. When he found out the suspects were his buddies that helped him pull off this stunt, he withdrew the offer to testify.

  8. Weren’t there blinds about Taraji wanting out?.. the show has gone so downhill and so have the ratings and hype. They’re gonna use the Jussie situation to cancel the show when they can simply kill or write him off

  9. The police should have made a fake line-up of white dudes wearing red hats and made the "suspects" read the sayings Jussie attributed to his assailants, like the beginning of "Usual Suspects."

"This is MAGA country Empire N-word F-word etc."

And then accidentally leaked the video him falsely identifying random white people as "100% the people that assaulted me."

What's bad/sad about this, is that the authorities thus far are playing along with the false narrative that this was about getting a pay raise.

  10. +1 Heffa, the guy has no conscience.

  11. Empire started off as an interesting show about a successful musician/executive who finds out he's terminally ill and has to decide which of his children should carry on his legacy. It was a decent little show that I really enjoyed tbh

Then after the first season it completely went to shit. For me the breaking point was S02E01 with Cookie in the gorilla costume. That was the same episode where we get Chris Rock doing "serious acting", which honestly cracked me up throughout the whole thing

I guess what I'm saying is maybe it would be for the best if they cancelled the whole thing and gave someone else a chance

  12. Also I don't blame Taraji for wanting to go her own way, she's far too good an actor and totally wasted on that show

  13. he's lost all credibility for the rest of his life.

and this was not a "mistake" (in case he's going to be saying that in the near future).

    this was a premeditated act.

    1. You know that the Empire cast still “supports” him? Until they lose their paychecks.

  14. He doesn't strike me as a Professor Moriarty level criminal genius.
In fact he's so dumb he should be jailed for his own protection lest he be inadvertently eaten by squirrels or something.
At least his meals will be cheap. Crayons and his own boogers. Just give him a barred window to pick and forget about him.

  15. The whole situation just sucks. I understand he has a presumption of innocence. If he is guilty, his career should be over. Period.

  16. Lick not pick! Goddamn you to hell!

    1. Vic...why would he licK a barred window?

  17. I agree Jim. First season was great, but after that it went downhill...it's not even believable at this point.

  18. In the infamous words of Rodney King, "can't we all just get along"? So, please stop with the stupid self-serving hate hoaxes that everyone can see through, except for everyone on TV & on Twitter & for goodness sakes, stop sowing division where there is none. Above all else, please be kind to one another.

  19. Jussie did us all a big favor.

Americans don't hate one another nearly enough already.

  20. @Alleycat.

He's stupid enough to lick windows but when he's in prison they'll have bars on them.

    1. I don't get the link between someone being / doing stupid and the licking of windows!!!

  21. A 'windowlicker' is someone too dense to be in normal society. It's a perjorative term reasonably common in the UK and, I thought, elsewhere in the Anglophone world. Seems I was wrong.

    1. Never heard of it...I don't tend to use perjoratives, bit like using the N word innit.

    2. Totally not used here. However if you put the window bars out in the freezing cold then I might get it.

  22. The DH uses window-licking, booger-eating moron when speaking of his younger brother.

  23. He should probably do a documentary on his attack and pay Daily Mail to write 5 slanderous articles on Mr. Trump everyday, and everyone will believe him.

  24. Verdicts determine punishments, not the truth.
Just because you can't prove something beyond a reasonable doubt doesn't mean it isn't true. Just because you have a heap of evidence it doesn't necessarily mean something is true. How many people have gotten off of Death Row because of DNA evidence? How many criminals don't even get prosecuted because prosecutors aren't confident they can win the case?

    ReplyDelete
  25. They are going to play it safe. Wait until the verdict or if he pleas out so they don't seem impartial. The second he is found guilty or pleads guilty his contract will be voided.

I'm not a fan past the first season. But when they pulled the OHHH I ain't really dying at the end of season 1. It just rang hollow and I was out.

  26. @timebob, Oh hey anymore important spoilers you'd like to share for people who haven't had time to watch the show yet? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nope, not in the slightest.

  28. @Flashy: So window licker as opposed to Ariana the 🍩 licker? We could probably come up with 12 other types of lickers.

I knew from the moment I heard this story that it was a steaming pile of 💩. I am a Hollywood liberal but I have to say that if the “progressive” wing of the democratic party does not stop with the anti-white/anti-Jew narrative, the Orange Julius will be re-elected which will, in turn, further embolden the small, well-armed real racists from all sides to run riot. The anger turned moral outrage on both sides are going to tear this society apart and then everyone will suffer. Not too smart. Jussie needs some serious jail time and Hollywood celebs and MSM talking heads need to get facts before spewing there ill-informed, half-baked opinions upon an increasingly fractured population. This is by design to keep us at each other’s throats so we do not notice that we are all being fleeced and lied to.

  30. Empire was good on the first season, maybe season 2. After that, it's nothing but an evening soap opera. I quit watching. What happened to Lucious' mother?
