Four For Friday - The Motel

It was not that long ago that this sometime A+ list mostly movie actor who really hovers at the A/A- list range had to sell of a lot of stuff. Much like Johnny Depp, he had a ton of houses and possessions but not enough cash flow. He also owed the tax man a ton of money. So, he had a fire sale and signed up for some easy paychecks. Road to recovery. One of the things he didn't sell, and that most people don't even know he owns is a motel. Located in the heart of Koreatown here in LA, it is next to what Koreans would call a room salon. It is a place where men gather and have drinks served to them by barely dressed barely legal women. There is a lot of groping and often times money is exchanged and the men want to have sex with one of the women. Enter the motel. Our actor has owned it for close to two decades. It is said he gets a cut of whatever the men pay the women plus the hotel room charge, plus of course a never ending supply of porn. Each room is completely wired for video and sound. The actor spared no expense and has two technicians who make sure everything is running smoothly. Over the last few years, the actor has enjoyed a direct to home video feed of each motel room. Our actor has also managed to capture on film several studio heads, athletes, agents and managers. There have also been several local politicians. Our actor doesn't extort them for money, but makes sure that each of them knows he has recordings of them having sex with barely legal women. It is one of the reasons he gets paid double for crap movies and why he keeps getting booked for tons of movies despite all of his personal foibles and addiction issues.

    1. This was my guess, too. He's constantly spotted in Koreatown. TMZ has him in a karaoke bar there twice in the past week. Singing Purple Rain, of all things lol.

  8. Cage was in a movie as a hotel owner!

"Night owls sleep here." Momentum Pictures has unveiled the trailer for a thriller titled Looking Glass, from veteran American director Tim Hunter. The film stars Nicolas Cage as the owner of an old motel in the middle of the desert. He finds a two way mirror to watch guests, but when he witnesses a murder, things get weird. They soon "discover more and more gruesome secrets involving the hotel and its visitors." The film also stars Robin Tunney, Marc Blucas, Ernie Lively, and Jacque Gray.

Ray and his wife look to start over by buying an old motel in the middle of the desert. Things take a turn for the worse however when Ray witnesses a murder through a two-way mirror. As they struggle to escape, they discover more and more gruesome secrets involving the hotel and its visitors. This has not premiered at any film festivals. Momentum Pictures will release Looking Glass in select theaters + on VOD starting February 16th, 2018.

  11. @earlybird it also reminds me of his david lynch movie Wild at Heart. It's been a while since i saw it, but it took place in a motel and had something to do with selling porn tapes

  12. Billie baldwin owns the motel. haha.

  13. @Tricia "this sometime A+ list mostly movie actor..." Another way of saying former A+ actor.

Good luck Nic. Recording someone w/o consent is a felony in CA.

  14. Also was in 8mm so this totally fits Cage. Just a mess.

  15. Kiefer Sutherland lives in Koreatown so, despite the fact he's not "mainly movies" anymore, I'll be different (and no doubt wrong) and say him.

  16. Rumor has it he met his ex wife when she was a k-town room salon girl. (Official story is that she was a sushi bar waitress)

  17. "crap movies" is exactly how I would describe Nic Cage's projects the last 10 years. I have wondered why anyone would still hire Cage or make those dumb movies.

  18. So word hasn't got out over the past 20 years that this actor owns this hotel and that filming goes on? Come on! People talk in that town and pretty soon, no one would be going to that place for fear that they would end up being filmed.

  24. I guess I don't understand. So the hell what if someone was caught screwing someone "barely legal." Either they're legal or not. If they're legal, who cares?

  35. This is a very explicitly written blind.

We can figure this out, we just need to identify Ktown motels with attached restaurants, pubs, or next door bars.

  36. Gauloise- I thought of Nic's Angry Man's rendition of Purple Rain in the KoreaTown karaoke bar clip the entire time I was reading this!

    HushHush- That's priceless, lol!😂

He wasn't in the movie, but Bad Times at the El Royale was another movie with shady dealings at a motel with two way mirrors, etc. Between these films and bed bugs, there's an argument for becoming a shut-in.

Lots of crap movies, but so many great ones, too! Besides the more obvious gems, I also love Matchstick Men and Red Rock West. He's an off-kilter guy, for sure, but as I mentioned yesterday, I kind of wish he could get a rescue and reboot.

    ReplyDelete
  37. By the way, this is a jackpot of a blind, imo! No clue prior, yet explains soooo much! Wow!😁

    ReplyDelete
  38. I definitely agree with Nic Cage for this!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wasn't there a recent blind about Nic that mentioned his video "collection"? Folks were speculating snuff or cp, this seems slightly... Better?

  40. Soooo... if you go to a skeezy motel, or a "spa" to have sex with the almost legal, trafficked female "employees", it's safe to assume, you will be recorded, there will be consequences & the establishment will kick a percentage up to the boss, or in this case, Nic Cage, the skeezy owner. Did I miss anything?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sounds like the screenplay to that Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson and Chris Hemsworth disaster Bad Times at the El Royale.

Bad Times at the El Jaula?

  42. I was thinking maybe Wesley Snipes?

  43. It's all so epically sleazy!

I think the barely legal age thing is mentioned to say, while obviously these guys are liking women much younger than themselves, there's no pe do factor in this tale. Prostitution, yes. People involved might not talk bc married, embarrassed, trying to forget and hoping Nic does, too, etc.

Will Sullivan-- awesome recall regarding the collection from the other blind! I have no clue if they are one and the same, but would rather it be these, too, compared to what was guessed at.😬

    ReplyDelete
  44. Cage & someone in his inner circle should be preventing the drunk karaoke & drunken/drugged marrying.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Wow, he must have so many friends.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Brings to mind tales of Depp's Viper Room, where anything went. Through 2-way mirrors or just eyeballing, he got the dirt on a lot of big names.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Clearly meant to be Nic Cage, given his Korean fetish. Not sure if this is for real or Enty fanfic based on that Nic Cage movie "Looking Glass" and some rumors, but it's hilarious either way.

  49. The Viper Room was just a nightclub, @Unknown. Do you think it's the only nightclub where people took drugs or had a quick knee trembler in the bathrooms? With the exception of River's unfortunate death which he alone was responsible for, and similar incidents have occurred in nightclubs across the globe, there really is nothing sinister about the Viper Room.

    1. Didn't Depp's business partner disappear under mysterious circumstances right before he won a lawsuit over money owed to him as a co-owner? That club definitely had some shady vibes attached to it.

  50. What does "barely legal women mean"? They're either legal or they're not.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Has to be cage. He would sign up for the opening of a bag of candy.

By the way. There is no such thing as barely legal. Its a binary term. Something is either against the law or not. Women are neither legal or illegal. That is not how speech, or law works. I would have expected a lawyer to know that.
