Blind Item #2

He might be out now, but they are still using his script and this three named actress agreed to star in the movie knowing it was his script and knowing everything he was accused of.

Chloe Grace Moretz used to be a fav, but she's a lost cause at this point.

  7. I think it rocks to voluntarily pick one website out of millions, then go there all the time to complain about what the blogger writes and who the other people are reading the site.

This is an indicator of strong mental health and well-considered priorities.

    1. Would another indicator of strong mental health and well-considered priorities be hating all women, with a particular obsession being a princess who's been dead for 20 years? And parentage of said dead princesses son?

Because, to me, that sounds slightly unhealthy.

  8. Whats wrong with picking a website then bashing a random person for being stupid? Is that somehow worse then going on a gossip site to trash D-listers?
    Kettle, pot

  9. There's bashing one person, and there's starting fights with bunches of people on a rotating basis. Also, complaining about the blogger's posts? Anyone can go to blogger and start his or her own site. It can be perfectly suited to the proprietor's tastes, no matter how mundane, commonplace, and trite.

  18. That Max Landis article was terrifying- one of the only exposes I had to close out of disgust. I knew he was awful but I think he might be one of the most psychopathic people to be outed since Weinstein.

That said, people saying he was a "male feminist" are misguided at best. He started the whole "Rey is a mary sue" thing, and none of his movies had any feminist undertones- if anything he had a lot of "incel" in him.

"To give credit where it's due, Enty did give us blinds regarding this gross max landis"

It was actually an open secret that he was a creep. Just like it was notorious that Harvey Weinstein used the casting couch, Kevin Spacey hit on barely legal male actors, Bryan Singer would be involved in parties with other young male actors, etc. There were other blind items published elsewhere, and there was a show named Difficult People, the one with Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner, that made a lot of references to these people, including Max Landis (and Charlie Rose), prompting Landis to tweet that it was in poor taste. Landis was also the butt of a few other jokes, like the kung fu adaptation of Huckleberry Finn Jean-Claude Van Damme is supposed to star in Jean-Claude Van Johnson. He was hated by many.
Sure, the industry didn't do a good job with him and let him hurt and intimidate his girlfriends for years, but the stories about him, shocking as they seem to some, match the general gossip on him.

    @hunter
"That's right Rosie - because Enty isn't full of crap like some people want to whinge and cry about."

Au contraire. The issue has never been with the standard gossip that other sites tend to carry, but with the big stories that nobody else, apart from some fringe alt-right sites, tends to corroborate, the stuff that has become common. The recent stories about Spielberg, Geffen, James Gunn, Dan Harmon, Anthony Bourdain, the New Orleans horror house, the Clinton brain cancer pill, Don Henley being finally prosecuted, the Meghan Markle myriad of misfires, Chris Cornell, every female celebrity secretly yachting, etc.
And there are of course the Himmmm "stories", but they're in another league of delusion.
When the only source for such a story is this site, either it has great access to prominent exclusive sources (and yet, it published three times a week the musings of "Dancing Boy"...) or it's making up the story. If people actually know about something shady done by a celebrity, when a true story appears somewhere, you can be sure that tongues will be loosened elsewhere, after somebody took the first step. And that's exactly what's happened with Landis. Yet, I haven't seen any other major gossip site giving credence to the Enty stories I regard as mere bullshit.

It can be said, and I actually say it, that the site shares some generic stuff about people like James Franco, Britney Spears, Ben Affleck, etc. This stuff can at this point be written like Mad Libs. But having this content allows the site to look like an ordinary gossip blog and then pass an agenda through the help of these fabricated stories about some pet peeves.

    @J

You know what? I think it rocks to voluntarily pick one industry out of thousands, then go all the time on the same blog to write that the entertainment industry is full of creeps and criminals, while you have zero interest in film, music, TV, etc. otherwise.

This indeed a fucking indicator of strong mental health and well-considered priorities.

  24. Yep! I like my avocations too!

Anything else you want to set us straight on, Angela, while you're speaking ex cathedra?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I dont see what the issue is.

So working on a movie he wrote means what, you condone what he did?

    So dumb.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @J

As a matter of fact, no. Your strategy is one of the oldest in the book. It reminds me of a scene in Idiocracy where Luke Wilson is definitely guilty because he use long sentences and fancy words ("pompous and faggy" in the parlance of the film).

But I repeat my point. What interest do you have in the entertainment industry besides allegations that such celebrity is a whore or a monster? I watch a ton of films, old and recent, I know well a few music genres, and I enjoy a few select TV shows. Legends and gossip about stars have always been part of the Hollywood story, even when it's fake, and that's what initially brought me here. What's brought you here?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well, I use my Criterion Channel subscription quite a bit, enjoying The Horse's Mouth, Paths of Glory, Ugetsu, and Olivier's Richard III and Henry V within just the last three weeks or so. I'm a huge fan of Iggy Pop and have commented here about the greatness of his former bandmate Hunt Sales' new album, probably the last one I've acquired. Also a fairly dedicated listener to Bach Cantatas (used to go the the Newbury Street Lutheran church to hear them in my Boston days). Loving Laugh-In on Amazon Prime now. Etc.

As for why I'm here, fuck you. None of your snotty know-it-all business.

  28. See there's actually two Angela commenters, one is a cool female, the other is a French male wet blanket, so everyone make sure you check before responding. We used to call the male Shilly because he popped up right after Enty started bagging on Spielberg and a couple others.

  29. Oh, I do seem to remember someone saying "I'm a guy and my screen name is Angela."

Or I may be remembering it wrong. Anyway, this one here is a dingleberry.

  30. It's no secret, it's right on his profile, click the name. Male, Paris, France. And he occasionally speaks French. But it's not like he identifies as a woman or something, just chose Angela for a screen name.

  33. Gossip is gossip, always to be taken with a grain of salt. Himmmm got pretty shady when he claimed to have knocked up both Kate Beckinsale and Brandon Lee's sister. Aside from the improbability, anyone with class wouldn't be posting about a woman's miscarriage, let alone two.

Hey if Angela wants to burn down CDAN more power to him, we'll get the marshmallows. But maybe instead of wasting our time with same comments he should try to figure out who Enty really is, and what is Enty's agenda. Which I'm guessing is just to save enough money to replace the futon that Iggy Azalea stole, but maybe it's something nefarious. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I saw Idiocracy, by the way, and don't recall anyone in the courtroom scene saying "pompous." Maybe elsewhere in the script...

However, if I talk faggy in [dude] Angela's estimation, so be it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Don't forget that you would regard me as cool if I was kneeling down at the altar of Cheeto Jesus.

In a few decades, you may find out there was zero weight to the grave accusations against guys such as Geffen or Spielberg. But it's Hollyweird and they're almost all pedos, so you'll have moved on to the next target.

    By the way, J...

Paths of Glory... Kubrick and Douglas both raped underage girls according to this very site (Sue Lyons and Natalie Wood)
Ugetsu... Mizoguchi was responsible for the sale of his sister as a geisha (and one of the most mastery uses of camera turning at the end of a long take)
Iggy Pop... affair in the seventies with a very underage groupie that nearly got him banned recently from touring Australia according to this very site.

The Kubrick blind item (or "Kubrik" as phrased in the reveal) was one of the most ridiculous blind items written last year. I've read a fair share of books and articles about Kubrick and his life, which don't always paint him in a sympathetic light (one book does mention his obsession for Julie Christie), but nothing suggests in them the possibility that he ever raped a load of 8-year-old girls on the set of 2001. Actually, if there's anything that's obvious with Kubrick, it's that the very thought of letting kids loose on one of his sets, with the possibility that they could play with props and break them, would have been enough to give him a heart attack.
Yet, Kubrick was friends with Spielberg, so whoever wrote the blind item assumed that involving Kubrick in child molestation stories of his own would give more weight to the separate claims against Spielberg.
It was actually the blind item that broke my back. Yet, you had many "enlightened" commenters who took it at face value and swore they would never watch a Kubrick film again.
Not that they would watch them in droves before, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  36. And therein you can infer something about my feelings toward artists/crafters as persons versus works of art/craft.

Sorry about your back. Any way we can transfer the break to your typing digits?

  41. @J

If you believe that Enty publishes, watching and enjoying Paths of Glory would be hypocritical here. It's basically "Polanski may be a child rapist, but he's definitely a great director" times ten. That's the beauty of this blog and its crack smokers commenters. Child molestation claims have been weaponized as an attempt to destroy a few figures of the industry for which the charges are otherwise shady (James Gunn or Dan Harmon, who were basically set up by 4chan members) or narrowed to this very place despite decades of exposition as A-listers (Spielberg, Geffen or Kubrick).
Watching Paths of Glory technically makes you a pedo enabler, a pedo apologist. It's hard to accept the humanist message at the heart of the final scene of Paths of Glory if you endorse a site that's published that its director molested a dozen of kids no older than 7 or 8 in addition to raping three tweens and keeping Sue Lyons as a sexual slave for months. That's basically praising Hitler's watercolours by dissociating them from his political work. Kubrick was singled out here as being one of the worst monsters in film history, with dozens of women abused.

    https://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2018/02/todays-blind-items-direct-this.html

Something that's most likely bullshit (the guy actually did Paths of Glory, Dr. Strangelove and Full Metal Jacket that have between one and three actresses in the entire cast, extras included), but that people took as true here.

Once again, the issue isn't the more or less generic blind items about Landis, Lohan, Spears, etc. that every gossip site tends to publish. And having the accusations at Max Landis validated by new testimonies is far from being a sign that the site has real insider info, and even less that the naysayers have to fuck off because of it. It's just that Enty often plays it safe by posting open secrets that everybody's heard about. The problem is the big claims, addressed at a few personalities, that the site suddenly started to make a few years ago without ever giving a source to support these claims.

If I claim that Lindsay Lohan has drugs issues and makes her living as an escort or that Ben Affleck is a drunken mess who dates lowlifes, that may very well be true, but that doesn't make me clairvoyant. And that doesn't mean that my big claims must be true.
