Lets not forget three big names that Wilmer Valderrama hooked up with were all underage (Mandy 16, Lindsay 17, Demi 17) when he did so. Oh, and that Joel Madden was closer to 30 than 20 when he took the virginity of a barely old enough to drive Hilary Duff. Oh, and don't forget the nearly 40 year old Jerry Seinfeld hooking up with the underage high school senior.

They don't always prefer the younger version, while most heterosexual men do. It's good old natural selection.

ReplyDeleteUnknown - I have been there done that as a teen girl. However....the grown men should not be allowing this to happen. In a perfect world (which it will never be) ALL men should avoid, turn down, run from young girls cuz that's the right thing to do. Teen girls, yes even the consenting ones!... are very fragile, emotional and incapable of knowing what's best for them in "adult situations". That's why adults are in charge and shouldn't be coercing them into adult behavior. At 16, I had no reservations about trying to get with a 25yr old but now 49 and see how vulnerable I was and that guy should never have gotten with ME. But alas, it will always be that way... as long as young girls are hot and older guys are horny but that doesn't make it OK and certainly will have many repressions for the girl, physically, mentally and emotionally.

As far as the public overlooking all of relationships with underaged...do you think it is bc there are still generations out there who knew people married at 13-15? I was a sexually precocious 13 year old and had friends who were still reserved inexperienced fragile virgin friends over 18. We HAVE to state an age just because (rightfully so) every law must have a line drawn in the sand but to not realize all the subjectivities lost in this is naive. Teens can go on death row for murder before they can drive a car. A lot of legalities are F-ED up and conflicting.

ReplyDeleteMy sister started at 12. 12 years old. Nobody could stop her. My Dad literally nailed her window shut and she pulled the nails out. My father and stepmother were horrified and worried that it could come back to bite them legally. The men were in their 20s-40s. This was the 70s and it was not uncommon at all, sorry to say. Many of her friends were the same way. One of the neighborhood girls ran off and became a groupie before she was old enough to drive, the bands were those Southern Rock B-list bands. One day for fun I googled one of the girls and actually found her on Facebook also. She's a frumpy dumpy loan officer at a bank or something like that. You would never guess to look at her that she had probably had sex with 100 men by the time she was 15. My sister is bi-polar. I don't know if that had anything to do with the sexual acting out.
