In a couple of weeks when the A- list singer who came out of nowhere in 2019 turns 18, the foreign born A+ list one named rapper/singer will probably stop talking to her, but for now they are very good "friends."

ReplyDeleteSomeone close to me recently made a sacrilegious comparison of Billy Eyelash to Fiona Apple...I am still am clutching my pearls, rocking back and forth, shaking my head no, and muttering to myself MONTHS later. Wtf?!? Whisper girl has nothing on Fiona.

Doesn't Eyelash's brother write the lyrics? Fiona wrote all her own material and played the piano on her debut. Listen to Sleep to Dream, Never is a Promise, Sullen Girl, Shadowboxer, etc.....then go listen to Bad Guy or any of Eyelash's other material. I respect Eyelash's spirit and her rejection of fashion trends in favor of comfort, but still feel there is no comparison there to Fiona. To this day, I get chills thinking a 19-year old Fiona Apple could write the lyrics she did on her Tidal album.

ReplyDeleteLMAO @momo The "cigarette burns on her face" were something from a music video she did. I've got a 14-year-old superfan in this house. I know for a fact that BE didn't just come out of nowhere. She's actually been around for about three years now. And she's actually a pretty good role model. Doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs and has no time for anyone who does. She was homeschooled, however, and she is *not* very bright. :)
