Blind Items Revealed #2

March 14, 2020

This alphabet network is doing their usual greedy at the cost of lives thing. They got shamed until one division closed some properties, but this division is the only network out there forcing people to continue filming. Unless you are a showrunner or actor/actress with power, the network wants you shooting your show and the parent company wants you shooting movies.

ABC/Disney (The day after this blind, they shut down several, but not all productions. It was only when they were forced that they did so.)

  1. Disney has always been greedy, nothing new here

  2. Disney is a horrible company & very cheap. I worked at a 4th of July event sponsored by them. When it was over, they ordered us to dump wastewater from the event directly into the ocean. They said because it was dark, we wouldn’t get caught! I refused to do it, as it was morally reprehensible, not to mention highly illegal. Fuck the mouse house.

  3. While it's completely ridiculous that actors have the money and power to have their tests fast tracked by private labs. The more that have the corona virus the faster productions will be shut down. It's the only good thing to come out of it their fame makes people take it more seriously.

  5. Disney's a soulless corporation. They exist entirely to make money. This is not news.

But I will note that their daytime division shuttered production before either CBS or NBC did. Or does that not count, Enty?

  6. Disney wasn't always this way - its heart and soul died with Walt. Roy was always a numbers kinda guy, and it was Roy's offspring who ruined the company, arranging the ousting of Walt's son-in-law (chosen by Walt to head the company in his wake, mind you) and then helping to arrange the hostile takeover of the C-Level board. Funnily enough, it's descendants of Roy Disney, who are the ones loudly complaining to the public on Twitter about the company practices and virtue signaling (yet not selling off any of their portfolios, to no one's surprise).

I agree with sentiments that Disney is now soulless. Blame Roy, Roy Jr. and Abigail et al for that.

    1. Walt wasn't a Nazi, Molly. He actually allowed his studios to be taken over during WWII war effort and produced ANTI-NAZI propaganda shorts with Disney characters! Walt also employed minorities. He may have been anti-union and definitely wasn't a fan of communism, but in no way was Walt a Nazi. The people who knew him best have made that absolutely clear.
