He ended up being offered lucrative gigs by the tourism commissions in two of the cities he lives in. The tourism commissions both needed an attraction that would bring in more people to visit, and they recognized that he had a very enthusiastic fanbase.

He is now legally designated as a tourist attraction, is contractually obligated to spend a certain amount of hours wandering assigned public places, and has a quota for the number of fans he has to interact with. Many people have spotted him in the middle of his job, though very few recognize that he is, in fact, being paid for this.
