You know, in the old days after something successful happened to you, a camera would be put in your face and someone would ask what you were going to do next and because you were getting paid a gazillion bucks by Disney, you would reply that you were going to Disney World.
Christian Bale obviously wanted to take that into an entirely new direction. Instead of Mickey and Minnie and a parade, Christian prefers fists and a trip to the pokey. Allegedly on Sunday night, Christian assaulted both his sister and his mother. Police, ever mindful of not letting justice stand in the way of celebrity decided to hold off arresting Christian until after the UK Batman premiere which were where the above photos were taken. The top photo was in random photos yesterday.
Now, from what I understand, mom and sister were not seriously injured in the assault, but I'm assuming that if they had been near death that presumably the police would have arrested Christian before the premiere of the film. It is pretty sick when the police actually say publicly they didn't want to upset the premiere of a film despite the fact a guy allegedly assaulted two women.
So why mom and sis? The only thing I can think of is that perhaps Mr. Bale was taking one too many substances he shouldn't have been taking and mom and sis tried to intervene and allegedly got laid out for their troubles. Where was the wife when all of this occurred?

I'm just having a hard time believing he'd do something like this. He's smartly stayed out of the gossip radar for most of his career, but who's to say this isn't a case of freeloaders getting mad that their cash cow won't give them any milk? People have certainly done meaner things for the almighty dollar, or pound in this case.

ReplyDeleteSeriously, check out some of his promo interviews for Dark Knight, he just seemed sorta off mentally. he has been basically a jerk talking to reporters if you ask me.
Dunno if it is drugs, pressures of super-stardom, or Health Ledger questions, regardless, he has just seemed wacky of late, so this story of beating his family doesn't surprise me.

Christian BaleThere are reports circulating that Christian Bale was arrested for verbal assault, and one of Bale's reps is echoing that.
Who knew, but we called around jolly old England and found there is such a thing as verbal assault, Class 4 and Class 5. Class 4 is more aggravated than 5, with "an intent to cause alarm."
Was Christian's offense mouthing off to mom? We're checking.

The latest is that Bale's mother and sister have been longtime addicts and/or alcoholics, showed up at his London hotel while he was out and demanded to be let into his room. When refused, they unleashed a verbal assault on the hotel staff. When Bale returned, they verbally assaulted him, with his mother throwing punches at him. Bale pushed or shoved his mother outside his hotel room and she fell. She then notified the police that she and her daughter had been assaulted by Bale.

I don't think Bale can be the subject of that blind. He has only been married once, to my knowledge, his daughter is around 3 and his wife isn't currently pregnant.

The mom, sis, and police are refusing to push it any further and I doubt that if they had evidence that he physically beat them it would have blown over so fast. He's always avoided the vast majority of gossip behavior, so this seems a little out of character (even if it turns out he really is a jerk in real life).

Verbal assault?!? Jeez, the police in the US must be relieved we don't have that one in the books! My own family would be a bunch of felons...seriously, Bale's mother and sister sound like a couple of losers who have sour grapes for some reason. Cash flow cut off? Who knows, but even if CB isn't likeable, he really doesn't seem like a violent person a la, say, Russell Crowe or Sean Penn.... Just my two cents.
