What A list movie actress was so whacked out on drugs during this not that long ago movie that her A list movie actor co-star had to take over many of her lines for her. She just could not get them out at all.
I'm on board with Jolie and Depp. I have yet to see The Tourist but I heard it was absolutely dreadful, and she looks more and more haggard (for her) by the day.
I thought Angelina and Johnny Depp in "The Tourist", too. I saw it on tv not too long ago. I thought it was an okay movie, not great but also not as bad as everyone said. I did think Angelina's part was weirdly edited. She didn't have much spoken dialogue. Most of her role was just the action stuff, which was probably 99% done with stunt doubles. Her "acting" in the movie was largely blank stares with her famous lips slightly parted. Although, in fairness, that worked for my husband. He thought the movie was great!
It may have awkward because her part was written for a male. I hope to god shes not into drugs, not with all those beautiful children. And I just cant see Pitt turning a blind eye to that.

She also takes her craft very seriously, and she complained on set that Johnny stunk like BO and hated doing romantic scenes with him.

Depp didn't look too comfortable either but her part must have only had a page of lines in the whole movie. They relied on glamour shots but even that became disturbing when they did a close up and her lips are so thick with lipstick it makes you flinch.

Neither Depp nor Jolie were good in it; they had o chemistry. Moreover, I didn't understand why they filmed Jolie as they did. (I guess I do now.) In the opening scenes where she's flouncing around in that beige dress, the surveillance team is drooling over her.
I like the tourist it ws not the greatest movie ever but i like jolie n deep. I think this is ronney mara n james bond guy from the draggon tattoo movie.
Beth that shot is pretty much the whole movie! Jolie posing and walking, she comes through a door, poses for effect, poses on a boat, poses on a train. Men leer at her and she smiles knowingly. Says very little. Depp looking terrible and like he hopes no one ever sees him in this movie. You know there will be a revealing book someday.
I watched the original version, Anthony Zimmer, which is on Netflix streaming. It's no masterpiece either, but it was far more sleek and modern that Jolie posing in that awful dress.
@Beth sorry you paid to go see it. I watched it on cable out of curiosity. Venice was beautiful. That's the only good thing I can say about the film. I can also understand now Angie's strangeness. What I didn't get was all these reaction shots of men practically drooling all over themselves over Angie. She was horribly thin and pale, not the least bit "ravishing". She looked sick.
Angie and Nic Cage in "Gone in Sixty Seconds". Angie was allegedly so whacked out that Nic had to say some of her lines, which supposedly made little sense coming from his character (but how could you tell coming from Nic Cage??)
yes, I agree, angie is not beautiful. I find her odd looking much of the time. they market her as the most beautiful women in the world which I find funny. plus, she has a nose job, I don't care how many times she denies it.
jessica alba and charlize are truly gorgeous, as is jennifer hudson.
@Cathy, yeah, the end was really BAD. I think my extremely low expectations of the movie actually helped my overall opinion of it. When a movie is trashed like that by everyone, I don't expect much so I'm not disappointed. I tend to be much more disappointed when I watch movies that have been praised to the heavens. I usually walk away from those movies all "Meh."
annabella....she's had much more than a nose job , she's had her jawline tightened and something done to her cheeks... not to mention all the filler and botox...this is not the face she was born with. And she's getting scary looking....
I like AJ, and I think she is a fantastic actor. Rent Gia, or even girl interuptted. She really is skmething in those flicks. And i do think shes beautiful.

JD seemed to at least try to make that movie entertaining, but each of her scenes were a big clunker. Now we know why.
AJ is on drugs but not ones that make her whacked out. Shes on heavy duty pain killers. Thats why shes so skinny. She is totally nuts. She is also A+++++ because she is a professional. She shows up on time having become an expert on her part, and ready to perform. She also did most of her own stunts in The Tourist.

Because she was incredibly sexy during the Tom Raider era. She's fallen a long way, but I remember her being stunningly beautiful and charismatic. She was also fascinating when she was with Billy Bob, because you never knew what crazy thing she'd do next.

I have posted before, maybe here, that I was acquainted with her cousin in college back in the early 1980's, introduced to me as "Jon Voight's niece," and she was absolutely, positively, the sexiest woman I have ever met in real life. If Angie has those genes, then she's gorgeous.

That's what really grated - the entire movie was focused on Jolie and how beautiful she was, and you just knew she knew it, too. That's what I don't like about her - she's so affected - as if she knows every man within her radius wants her. Fine, but be less obvious. If you get to that point, where you are promoting your "beauty" like a lifeless mannequin, just do infomercials, already.

She adapts to changes and has plans of attack for the dreaded Hollywood hurry up and wait. Every move she makes in her personal life is planned around filming or directing. She does a lot of her own stunts and is hugely respected by directors. Think of her how you want, there's a good chance you're right but, there is no way this is her. None. These same things can be said about Tom Cruise which is why he too is still considered A++++ even though none of us care for him. They are both conceited narcissists and if you're wondering what happened to the sun, its revolving around them. They would never allow themselves to give anything less than 110%
Im not embarassed to say that i loved the tourists. Its also a good way to see johnny depp cleaned up! I think angie is a talented and pretty girl especially back in the day. She still is pretty but her lifestyle is starting to show on her face and body.

ReplyDeleteBoth Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Hudson are more beautiful than her, I think - although they are less exotic and more "All-American."
In terms of classic beauty, I would choose Jessica Alba or Charlize Theron over Jolie.
