Blind Items Revealed

August 26, 2011

#4 - This B list comedienne who has been in television and movies recently went off on a rant about Scientology in front of a group of people, not realizing that two belonged to the organization. When they started to challenge her on something, the comedienne had a light go off and asked if they were involved with it. They said yes and she told them to run for their lives and then walked away.

Sarah Silverman

  1. As much as I cannot stand Sarah Silverman, I have to say kudos for that.

  2. YEAH! Ha haaaaa. Good for Sarah. Apparently she's right.

  3. Thanks, Enty!

I love her. I appreciate her lack of filter. If this happened in LA, then it's awesome that she'd go off on Scientology without first checking if anyone in the group was in it.

I would have walked away at that point too. No use wasting your breath and precious time on cult members. They don't make for very good listeners.

  4. EL, how the hell is Sarah Silverman B-list?

  5. I was wondering the same thing Trogdor. She's D at best. The only funny thing she has done involved Matt Damon.

    1. Ditto. Do not find her funny at all. My idea of hell would be a romcom with jer and Adam Sandler.

    2. Lol. Sherry don't give anyone ideas. That would suck.

    3. And here I thought I was the only one, Kelly. You've given me hope that there are still people with taste in this world. (Not to insult any fans.)

  7. I love Sarah Silverman and it sounds like something she would do!

  8. "In front of a group of people, not realizing that two belonged to the organization" ( Scientology )....

and the reveal to that is ????

  9. I agree, she's B list? Huh.
Anyway, thanks for the reveal Enty!

  10. I would put her at C or D list but it could be because i dont like her!

  11. I swear I thought I read this before but just as a news story, not a blind reveal. Did I just read the blind and everyone guessed it was her so I've remembered it as being true?

I just have to put out there, I never found her comedy funny, yet I'm completely in love with 2 Broke Girls. I think everything about the show is hysterical. Yes even the race jokes bc it brings me back to In Living Color when they made fun of all kinds and we all laughed easily, unoffended.

  12. This may be the first time ever I've agreed with Sarah Silverman.

    ReplyDelete
  13. "2 Broke Girls" is Whitney Cummings' baby, not Sarah Silverman's, right?

  14. Sarah Silverman is one the most popular stand up comedians among women today. She's also the most bold and ballsy.

  15. B list is fair to me. She's had her own sitcom (of sorts) on Comedy Central and has filmed at least one comedy special.

  16. Good for her (but I know people who knew her in school in NH and they uniformly have said she is a terrible person. Terrible. They've been saying it since long before her show premiered, too, when she was absolutely D list.)

  17. Totally OT, but I'm stuck in an airport and just read the Witney article in the June Vanity Fair. I now think she's MV.

Maja, didn't you say MV put out an album in 2010?

At any rate, very interesting reading for celeb gossip lovers.

  18. Frufra, if Whitney is MV, that might mean that Enty knows some behind-the-scenes stuff about Bobby Brown that justifies his hatred of him. I can't remember if there was something that specifically ruled Whitney out, or if it was just that none of us could believe it's her because we know she did have the pipes, so she wouldn't have needed a cover singer?

  19. Funny... I went to school with her and she was a really funny goofy and kind person. I never saw or heard her say or do anything negative towards anyone. (The school was very small so trust me you know everything about each other. My graduating grade was 38 people).

Many years later, she ended living down the street from me in NYC and she is still refreshingly nice.

She worked hard to get into the business and had a plan from an early start. She wanted to go to NYU and work in the comedy clubs as a bartender at night so she could observe and network. I was delighted to see her become successful because she did it all by herself..

  20. As a TV star or movie star, Sarah Silverman is not B list. As a COMEDIENNE, she is definitely B list. Who's ahead of her as a straight stand up comic?

    ReplyDelete
  21. @mooshki - I know, she's supposed to be The Voice. Just reading between the lines (maybe too much so), I could see it. It would certainly scandalize the recording industry.

Article said Clive was desperate to create a star who was the whole package - pop icon. Whitney was already a model, so the looks, goddaughter of Aretha, so connections and cred. The reporter talked to the voice coach who helped her get her voice back - wanna say 2006? Everything he said could have been said with a little soft, fuzzy glow of coverup around it. You know, not fully lies, but not the truth, either. Implications, platitudes.

Must research further - reading the article definitely made me wonder.

  22. Silverman headlined her own sitcom (on cable, admittedly) and it had a nice run: B-list (TV).

Silverman is regularly credited right below the title for her film roles: B-list (films).

    Silverman sells out thousand-seat venues doing stand-up: B-list (stand-up).

As to her being a bitch in HS, one sister is also an actress, the other is a rabbi and she's talked about her quirky childhood at length. She started in the biz very young and, from what I've heard, has no rep. for being difficult.

  23. If you compare Whitney's Just Whitney (2002) to her other albums, it really has different sound profile. Just my 2 cents.

  24. Way late here, but I had a thought about MV the other day--

Madonna's name is Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone (sp?/similar) but the M and the V are definitely in there.

Yeah, yeah, we've always known she couldn't sing *much* (some, yes) but it just dawned on me the other day when I read something about her full name.

Of course, Enty has said the "MV" moniker for the blind came from Milli Vanilli. But it could be a cross-clue.

Anyway...all I got. (other than WAY too much thinkin' time on my hands...)

  25. I thought MV was JLo. BTW, I love Sarah Silverman, definitely B list with tv show and special. I totally have a girl crush on her.

    ReplyDelete
  26. People are saying Sarah isn't B list. It does say "B list comedienne". There aren't that many bigger - Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers, Roseanne? If you think about it, in that she's had a series, specials, a stand-up movie, film roles and sell out tours, she's probably A list in the female comedy world.

  27. "EL, how the hell is Sarah Silverman B-list?"

Hey, screw you Trogdor, Sarah is a trendsetter. She was firing Dan Harmon years before it was the "in" thing to do.

  28. @MV - I, too, have thought about this too much, but went back last night and read the original BI and clues.

As much as I'm trying to make Whitney work, I think it's JLo, which I'm bummed about, but there you go.

The original BI says this would shake the industry to it's core, not the listening public. I think we've made it into an issue about "the voice" over the years, when it's really about industry manipulation and coverups. Don't think the "shocking" part is about vocal quality.

JLo's second album was bigger than her first, Whit's was not. That was one clue.

JLo has at least one kid. JLo had a "nicknamed" SO who was hyphenated (P-Diddy). She herself is known by a nickname.

Whit fits with the kid clue, the nickname clue (her business was Nippy, Inc., her childhood nickname), the divorce clue, the album released since 2010 clue. But not the "second album bigger than first" clue.

I've obviously spent too much time on this, but I'm going to try and put it to bed in my crazy mind as JLo. But I can't promise I won't read the Whitney article again. And possibly create a chart of some kind :-).

  29. I think MV is Britney. She sounds nothing like her "singing voice" while JLo does. Plus, I doubt AI allows lip synching... Plus remember when Brit was obviously lip synching at the awards show AND she dated/divorced K-Fed.

    ReplyDelete
  30. AI definitely has lip synching. Not by the actual contestants though. But I've noticed quite a few guest performers lip synchng including JLo.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's P.Diddy, not P-Diddy.

Megerz, I was thanking god that Nicki Minaj didn't sing live on Idol after hearing how godawful her singing voice is without massive manipulation. (She did rap live, but the singing part was pre-recorded.)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Also, I think J.Lo's performances were pre-recorded, so they weren't even live lip-synching.

  33. @rojacaliente. 2 things

    1) your nickname is AWESOME :D :D
    #fanofDlisted jaja

    2) thanks for sharing!! im happy for S. Silverman, and this $cient rant is great!

  34. @Frufra

thanks for the briefing! I agree with you. Whitney had a lot of stuff going on, but everybody agreed that she had a VOICE to dye for and she proved it many times, spec at the beggining of her career.
While Jlo has never gone on tour. she's done things here and there, all pre-recorded.
Ive always though of MV as brit brit, is that possible (I havent followed the all of the clues :P)
