Amanda Bynes Is Back In LA - Getting Busted By Police And Now On A 5150 Hold

The good news is Amanda Bynes is still not driving. The bad news is that she is still wasted all the time and got ticketed for trespassing at a retirement community Sunday night after they had asked her to leave. Amanda was at the retirement community looking for new followers of her ugly religion when the staff noticed she reeked of booze and pot and asked her to leave. She did and called a cab. When the cab arrived she told the driver she had no money, but to drive her anyway. No credit or debit card? Anyway, the driver kicked her out so Amanda went back to the retirement home. They then called the police.

Not to be thwarted in her attempt for more attention, last night, Amanda started a small fire in the driveway  of a home. I know. Police were called and when they questioned Amanda they determined she needed professional help, so hospitalized her on a 5150 hold which will keep her out of the way for the next 72 hours. Hopefully it will also get her some help. It might also give her parents the impetus to try and get a conservatorship over their daughter.

  5. As much as I loved the amanda cazy train she really does need help and lots and lots of hugs.

  7. I was still on the fence about her faking it/actually having mental problems but I think it's pretty obvious now. The driveway she built a fire in belonged to an elderly lady. I'm all for laughing at her bad wigs, but it takes a certain degree of crazy to go after/mess with old people.

  8. I hope she can turn her life around!

  9. Thankfully no one got hurt...she is always alone when she does stuff like this...I'm assuming she has no friends and is crying out for help.

  10. That wasn't a tiny fire either. The burnarks on the driveway make it look a few feet wide. Must have been for a whole to burn the concrete too and apparently she had a gas tank w her?! Thank god she didn't kill anyone. Britney had nothing on this level of nuts in 2007

A conservatorship is not something to take lightly- it is a legal device by which you deprive a person of their liberty and self determination. She may be making unusual choices but she has a right to live her life according to her own wishes as much as anyone else. If she breaks the law, by all means hold her accountable but do not mess with her legal rights.

The blasé attitude toward the deprivation of an individual's liberty terrifies me much more than Amanda's zany behavior.

  13. I'm interested in her diagnosis, though I respect HIPAA privacy laws, she has made her life pretty public as of late. I thought the bong throwing incident was reckless as hell, but arson is on a completely different level of felony. My friend's husband set a box on fire on the roof of his job and got sent away for a month, and that was was his first offense.

@Amanda's Wig, I hope you survived your ordeal, retirement homes are full of hairpieces of all kinds and I'm looking forward to your recount of the night.

  15. Another legitimate article said that she was visiting family at the retirement home and the facility actually called the cab. It also stated that she told the cab driver to let her out b/c she didn't have any money.

Hyping it up, are we Fenty (fake enty)?

No comment on the rest, but hope gets on the right path. I'd like to see what she will do in the future.

  16. No - the commenter on the Lainey group on FB said that she tried to set HERSELF on fire. It was the commenter's friend's mom's house. She also had a dog with her, but the dog was ok.

  17. I wouldn't call setting fires "zany" behavior.

  18. @hag: I agree with you to a certain extent, but I think Amanda really needs someone atm to make her decisions for her. I don't think she can think straight and is a danger to herself and others (but yes, I am no shrink :P)
Maybe it shouldn't be as extreme as a person managing her whole life, leaving no room for own decisions, but I do believe this girl needs a counselor who checks in on her on a regular basis to see if she takes her meds (if she gets those), acts sketchy, if she is not a danger etc etc.

I unfortunately have a mother who has been through multiple psychosis and the feeling of helplessness when a loved one doesn't sense danger, acts erratic and you can't do anything.. it's horrible. You are constantly afraid of horrible things happening, because the person you love is just not able to sense danger, legal vs illegal behaviour etc anymore.

The problem probably is that Amanda thinks she is fine and doesn't need help, and it is kinda hard to get someone help without some kind of order from a judge if the person in question thinks the world is insane and she is normal. Hopefully they can get through to her and make her realize she does need help, but I am afraid it is gonna take more than that and a judge needs to step in and name someone who is gonna watch her/her decisions etc, like with Britney.
I do have to say I don't think Britney is happy atm, but that's a different story xD

  19. You should have never gone back to LA, Mandy. Those ugly, soulless folks out there have had it in for you for sometime now.

I thought she was pedaling around Manhattan on Saturday waiting for a drug dealer?

You need positive PR when you get out of the joint. Bathroom Mirror Buttcheeks are your ticket to public adoration.

  20. Maybe now she will get and accept help...she has been crying for it long enough.

  21. Just because someone in mentally ill doesn't mean they need a conservatorship.

But I do think the 5150 is a good thing for Amanda. Otherwise I wouldn't give her 12 more months to live. Not at the rate she's going.

  24. At this point I think we can start comparing her behavior to Brittany's pre-conservership. How does it compare? Is it worthy of such a drastic step to take away an adult's legal autonomy? Does she have people in her life that can act as absolutely as Jamie Spears does? Did the fact that Brittany have children and wanted to stay connected to them make it necessary whereas Amanda is without children?

  25. "Fenty". I like it, @yo.

  26. @hag having been the conservator of my son for many years now I can tell you it is never an easy decision to make. He is 25 years old and I would give ANYTHING if he was able to live his life like a normal person and do the thing necessary for himself but sadly he is unable to.
None of us can say what she needs, only the doctors and if need be a judge will make that determination. It is set up to protect the person who is mentally ill.

  27. Her family created this mess. Is Dina or Michael going to help Lindsay? Do you see Rhianna's parents helping her? Brooke Mueller anyone??

    Don't breed the crazy.

  28. FINALLY. The problem is you can't be too crazy for NYC. She had to go back to LA for someone to finally get a hold of her. I'm curious what her dx will be...

  29. Classic Bi polar. Perhaps BPD, if she tried to set herself on fire. I really truly feel for her. I know what it's like to be completely off the deep end....it's rough path back but it can be done. I hope she finds someone who loves her unconditionally and will stick by her during treatment. She needs it.

  30. i agree with hag completely. there is nothing in her behaviour to suggest that she needs all of her rights stripped away, and what, handed to the people that got her in this position in the first place??? to me it seems that she's probably bored, the public continues to speculate and pay attention to the dumb shit she does, why not go for it and see how ridiculous she can get with it? personally, i would do some shit like this if i had a public salivating over the next 'wild and crazy' thing i was doing. it's funny to me as i imagine it might be to her. we live in such a culture that every shit our celebrities take is newsworthy, that it would be kind of awesome to see just how amazingly low the public will go to eat up every blurb printed on how 'out there' she can be. i drink and smoke a lot of weed and i could see how with a lot of money and time, i could entertain myself for years just laughing at how much people freak out about this shit. of course, every illegal activity should include a trip to the holding cell. i've been to the holding cell more times than i can count. i don't do anything i'm not willing to sit in jail for. most of the time it's less than 24 hours. i'm all for a crazy amanda!!!!!! she's doing crazy things, she's not a crazy person!

  32. well finally

the 5150 might give her parents some control if they can handle it properly

she does need help and its just not funny when someone is this ill

  33. And i agree that its BPD

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Hag, I overall agree with you. However this girl really needs help.

I guess what I find even more scary than her setting a fire is, just how damn crazy do you need to be in NY before someone (family, the law, ect) goes "enough"?

    1. Just because you haven't doesn't mean it's not a sign of BPD. It spells implusive and if she was trying to set herself on fire, that is also suicidial ideation. Those things are central to BPD.
Docs tried to say I had BPD but I wasn't implusive, suicidal, abusing drugs, or even splitting so they ruled it out. It's a serious, serious disorder and it just seems like Amanda has it.

  36. @Jeanine I don't know if she's crazy and neither do you.

Hopefully, professional mental health experts will evaluate her condition or lack therof.

I agree a conservativeship should be a last resort. I feel bad for Britney being everyone's meal ticket.

  38. I have a question...does the conservator have to be someone she knows or can the court appoint someone else? Because people often mention her parents taking control in this but it doesn't seem to me like they've been involved enough to be given the right to make decisions for her or to have control of her money. Not necessarily saying she needs this, just wondering how it works...

  39. have had this situation in my family so I don't find it amusing

as a parent it is very difficult to help an adult child who refuses help-the laws are very strict on this. And very hard to circumvent. The burden of proof is enormous.

the 5150 might be very helpful but then again might not

didn't help in my family situation

  41. Amanda, this is your shot--you handle this right...Oprah's got a show for you.

  42. I too have had something like this in my family--my mother had to become the conservator for my dad because he refused treatment, was doing financially irresponsible things, etc. It was not a huge deal--she had to go to court a couple of times and then periodically after, and it gave here the right to handle their money and eventually as he got worse, she was able to make him go to a nursing home (he had some serious health issues as well as mental issues for many years).

For us, the situation had gone on many years and was evident and the court put it right through, but my parents were in their late 50's --for a young person it may be more difficult.

  43. Everything is shenanigans until she starts a fire. What the heck?! How speed that happen?

Last night I dreamed that she came back to work (at my place of work, dream weirdness) and she was all clean and her hair was nice again and we were all like "So...what happened?" And she had no memory of everything.
