Are you more likely to have a Super Bowl party or an Oscar party?

Superbowl. I don't know anyone interested enough in the Oscars to even watch them!

I was going to have a mardi gras party but I live in Seattle so I might have a hard time getting people to come now. Thanks, Seahawks...

As a gay man.....neither! Oscars are sooooo boring. I don't like award shows but The Golden Globes is definitely the better. My friend dated this guy and his cheeseball family would have Oscar parties and make her dress in a gown to go to their house and sit in front of the tv and watch it! lmao and she has no interest in celeb culture etc. she was livid! lollll

At which party is it acceptable to get your boobs out?

Super Bowl- i love to cook & its a good excuse to get together. the best part of the oscars is the red carpet and I can snark on that through twitter, don't need a party for that.

Oscars since my Niners aren't in it. Those Broncos better serve Seattle their asses on a plate!

@Dena: That is acceptable at all parties, except Christenings and First Communions.

Oscars party. Care nothing for football even though I actually watched the game yesterday.

VIPblonde said...

@Derek That's only because you've never been to one of my Oscar parties ;)

I always do both, but just for us here at the house. Appetizers and booze is about it really.

Oscars. Especially this year.

Denver fan here. . .Superbowl.

Besides, there are better commercials while watching.

Tough call - elegant upscale food at the Oscar parties - plus lots of snark. Damn good comfort food for Super Bowl - plus guys in tight pants.

Krab said...

Neither. Hate both.

With NJ's new online gaming, I wonder if they take action on the Oscars? It isn't a sporting event, so I would imagine it wouldn't fall under the guideline's prohibiting such wagers. Would be a great marketing tool to get broads to sign up and gamble away their money. Rope em in w/ Oscar wagering, then hook em on video slots and poker.

Single awards wagers, maybe pools of various denominations, parlays for the top awards. Would be a nice once a year payday for the casinos and the state.

Neither.

@VIP haha very tempting--I may even put on a gown for that!

Neither, but I am a smashing guest!

Neither. I don't get excited for adults getting awards for being paid multi-millions to do what kids do for free everyday, play games and play pretend.

These fall under 'Exotics'. I myself use sportsbook.ag. Used to be based in California, but with the new laws, their servers are in Aruba and the checks come from Toronto. 2k max withdrawl and it takes about 40 days to get paid.

Christoph Waltz was a huge underdog for the Best Supp. Actor last year and I cleaned up big time. Think he was 40 to 1 if I remember. This year I took Meryl for Best Actress at 30 to 1 and will take Lupita for Best Supp. Actress once the line comes out. She might be around 8 to 1, hopefully.

Neither, both are boring as hell.

If my life depended on that: Oscars, because I can fap to the hot actresses when I go to the toilet on recesses, and that would alleviate the pain.

@fancy
Does the include the Seahawks fans that threw food at Bowman when he was being carted off the field with a serious injury?

both

Super Bowl this year. Go Seahawks!!!!

Normally, I prefer Oscar parties. I hate when people talk through the commercials during the SB. Only problem with Oscars is that they start late on the east coast, so guests don't leave until 11:39pm on a school night. Now that I live on the west coast, no problem there.

@nicklee
bad sportsmanship. IMO, if a player get hurt the fans of the hone team should b respectful. Those stadiums are filled with thousands of people. The assholes shouldn't take the joy away from millions of SEAHAWKS fans who some throw food at injured players. But something tells me that the players "get it". I don't think the injured player is sobbing in his Wheaties about the food throwing.

*fans who don't throw foos

I've done Oscar parties a few times. Women and gay men only. Casual dress, lots of cocktails, lots of fashion critique, a few snacks to absorb the alcohol, a good time is had by all.

I'm a pathetic fair weather fan of football. It's too bad my Pats lost but that's the way it goes.

Super Bowl - GO BRONCOS!!!!

Jazzy said...

We always have a Super Bowl party. If it can't be my Niners then I want Peyton to win it all.

Henriette said...

@nicklee
I agree. There was so much bad behavior, especially Sherman, and their fans that I hope the Broncos show them what losers they are. I also hope Sherman gets carted off the field. He failed to mention how he loves to provoke the other team and that's a huge reason for his fifth round draft. Harbaugh knew trash when he saw it.
