Everyone loves this actor. If you know who he is, and most of you do, his general image cultivated over decades is you love him. He is foreign born. His image took a slight downward turn a few years back when people learned he was cheating on the long time actress girlfriend. Yes, she was cheating on him too which is the only thing that saved him from completely looking like a heel. He then further sullied that image when a co-star was forced to quit a hit show because of his behavior. What happened to the guy everyone thought they loved? The thing is, you know about all of this, but the grocery store line readers still think of him as that cute guy they might have had a crush on when they were younger and still love. They for sure didn't notice the cheating he has done on his current girlfriend or the procedure he made the mistress undergo which would have made things really complicated for the actor. People then would have started to notice and that would have made the news even in the grocery store lines. He couldn't have people looking deeper into his story. That current mistress was not the first to be asked. There have been several, but all of the previous times were when he was with his long term ex. Again, that image would have taken a huge hit. He thinks he needs to make a splash and his current girlfriend is willing to forgive the public humiliation of him being caught cheating to spend the rest of time with him or until he cheats on her again, which he will.
