Exxon... Still. ...
E! TV Network for the most part.
I still can't bring myself to buy Exxon (and now Mobil since they merged) gas after the Exxon Valdez spill in 89. And I'm not even an environmentalist but that pissed me off.
Anything Lilo's in (except gossip).
CDaN
Excessively cheap clothing stores eg Primark. I often think about boycotting Nestle but haven't quite got there yet. Oh and the Sun newspaper.
I loathe to buy BP even during an emergency
Every thing about Lohan ,the Kardashians and Courtney Stodden
All Smithfield products.
Facebook.
Hahaha, I was gna put that FSP!
I do my best to boycott clothes and shoes not made in the U.S. but it's really difficult to do.
Back in the 80's I boycotted products from South Africa when they still had Apartheid.
Computer animated movies. Only hand-drawn animation for me!
Safeway and Kmart they treat and pay their employees shit so that's the kind of service you get so I'll go else where.
Anything connected to those evil Koch brothers if I can help it.
I've posted this before:
I downloaded an app called "buycott". You scan the barcode of any product you're thinking of purchasing (or have in your cupboard) and it tells you information about the company, like if they're against GMO labeling. It's free for android and iOS devices. I now must decide between Diet Coke and social conscience. :/
Buycott App
Chicken Livers, Liver, Shrimp, Beets, and even when living in LA The Clippers!
I meant Walmart but Kmart works too. Oh and btw my husband works for Nestle..yes they are horrible too.
Woody Allen movies.
Awesome app!! Thanks @7!!
And Monsanto, obvi
and cable tv. why do you have to watch commercials if you pay to subscribe?
and facebook
Exxon and BP,which leaves me with Chevron.
Among a few others, I boycott Roman Polanski and Nivea products, for their BS ad campaigns.
Woody Allen films.
Since I just caught up with all of my bills, I'm boycotting absolutely everything until my next paycheck is deposited.
Seriously - any entity that allies itself with extreme right wing, super religious organizations. Christian Coalition, One Million Moms, Family Research Council, folks like that. They have the most frightening, practical impact on my life.
OH I hate Monsanto too, I'm big supporter of Organics. If you live in bay area, ca try itsorganic.com great company love it and its affordable. Not sure if they are else where in the country.
Derek Harvey
*runs*
Omg, Wig!
Anytime I walk into Kmart, my soul hurts.
Any Pet store that sells animals. Also Walmart.
I came here thinking I don't boycott anything but then after reading the list of responses, I realize that I do boycott quite a bit. It's just so natural I don't think of it.
Tyson Chicken
Nestle
Monsanto
Woody and Roman
@P, what is the deal with Smithfield products? And what do they make? I seem to think it's chicken but not sure?
Love that link, thank you!
No Kmart of Walmart near me so I don't need to boycott!
Monsanto and Koch bros. Research what companies Monsanto owns, you'll be amazed.
Chik-Fil-A. And I love their chicken nuggets, waffle fries, and lemonade, so it IS a sacrifice.
WalMart and dog breeders. Adopt a pup from a rescue or a shelter, people!
Exxon.
Zoos
Asswipes. Human asswipes.
Pmk. The kardashians/jenners. Woody Allen. The Sun/The Mirror. The thing i avoid most though is Cbeebies.
And also Woody Allen and Roman Polanski films.
Pmk. The kardashians/jenners. Woody Allen. The Sun/The Mirror. The thing i avoid most though is Cbeebies.
KOCH Industry products
@B-Fab
I usually don't support zoos but we have an amazing one by me that rescues animals. It's mostly old and sick animals but you know by visiting that you are helping to keep them alive. Also the habitats seem large and well maintained.
It's called the Popcorn Zoo in NJ.
Leftists.
Wally World aka China Inc.
I'm boycotting boycotts!!!
And gun control advocates.
Aw
Wal-mart
I don't really boycott, but I do try to avoid chain restaurants.
Boycott boycotts.
Chik-Fil-A, not because of the gay rights things, but because they're restaurants smell disgusting. Same with Popeye's.
Celebrity endorsed perfume clothes etc
Monsanto and Walmart. Both are evil. Star thanks for the organic tip.
Safeway is across the street and I can walk to buy beer and wine which is always on sale. You accrue points for gas on other items so needless to say I never accrue enough points for a gas discount.
WalMart, but even though I don't shop there, I still have to give them money via all the subsidies they get from all forms of gov't and the "socialism" their poorly paid employees are eligible for. But those Waltons are all billionaires. I hate this company with the burning fire of a thousand suns.
Chik-Fil-A - yes, the food was good. No I don't care about your religious beliefs, I care when you use the profits from my purchase to actively lobby governments against non-discrimination protection rights based on sexual orientation, and that includes school bullying laws. That's the type of shit that is leading our kids to commit suicide. How Christian is that?
Sea World. I used to love this place and visit almost yearly, but I doubt I will ever go there again. I am torn on this because the Sea World of old was a fantastic research facility, but they've had so many owners and it seems their focus now is money money money.
Sears, although meh. This is a decades old boycott based on their very long history of gender discrimination against women employees but this company is in so much trouble its just irrelevant now. There is a Kmart nearby and I shop there every once in a while, when I cant find what I want at Target.
Has anyone seen any traces of him since the apology tour? Wait! Is he boycotting CDaN?
Veal.
what amartel said....
Exxon. I've only bought Exxon gas once since the Valdez--and, very ironically, I seem to recall that that purchase occurred in a National Park.
I was going to boycott BP just as strenuously after that disaster, but heard a report on NPR that almost all BP gas stations are supplied through spot markets, and not from BP, so I'm not quite as strict if I'm driving in an unfamiliar place.
Walmart, Chik-fil-a, Paula Dean chicken products, and CDAN on troll days.
Anything Tom Cruise is in.
Most anything that has a $cilon in it (Veronica Mars being the exception even though Logan Echolls' actor is one).
Subway because the bread always smelled of chemicals to me. Althought I've heard that they finally stopped adding the chemical that they use for yoga mats.
Barilla pasta/Chik-Fil-A/Wal-Mart (because I'm a Left Coast gal at heart)
Perez Hilton (PH-free for at least 5 years now)
Kuntrashians/Kanye/KKK
The Catholic Church
Protests.
woody allen, roman polanski, michal jackson. It kills me that they still play gary glitter at sporting events and in commercials
The Kardashians, veal, Facebook, Twitter, Sea World, coffee(gasp).
This is depressing. :-/
I agree withe the final three. I am also a happily recovering Perezaholic.
E! Barilla Walmart Facebook FoisGras Chickfila WoodyAllen FoxNews NRAsupporters PuppyMills MostRepubliCUNTblowhards
Walmart for their rape of small towns. Chicfilet for their anti gay policy
Pat Robertson and all televangelism for their monetary pipeline to God policy.
Use the Good Guide to research your foods. Use the Coming Clean Campaign to research your body care products. You'd be amazed at the products that you find at the co-ops or Whole Foods that appear organic (and/or good for you) when in reality they are far from it.
Oh no. Why is Barilla pasta evil, Steph?
BP, Walmart, and Hobby Lobby for me, but it isn't difficult because I was never loyal and they don't offer anything I love. Chik-Fil-A is the hard one for me. I love their chicken sandwiches but ever since I found out how much money they donate to camps that "fix" gay teenagers, I haven't been able to set foot in there in years. My stomach turns just driving by the place. I hate so-called Christians who don't understand the concept of loving all.
Boycott all the fucking Kardashians and their significant others. Get the fuck out!!!
Justin Bieber
Little dicks
Hate and violence - especially against women and children, animals, nature. Will not spend money going to Africa, India, Utah, buying anything they produce.
Me, too, AKM. Chick-Fil-A & also Hobby Lobby. I don't like companies to force their religious beliefs on their workers. To me, that is a very personal thing, no matter how you feel about it!
I'm always on my high horse about someplace so..... Whole Foods ever since the founder said his employees don't need actual healthcare, they just need to eat the stuff he sells (supposedly healthly).
Exxon
BP
Chik-Fil-A
Barilla pasta
ALL THINGS KUNTRASHIAN
Paris Hilton seems to be taking care of it for me, she's mostly faded away, thank god
The LesBeiber
Tom Cruise
SeaWorld - haven't been able to bring myself to go back for years
TOMS shoes - they work with the anti-gay groups in Africa
Tyson
Hormel
Mel Gibson movies
Wow - I've been boycotting some things like Tyson for so long, I've forgotten I'm actually boycotting them - they're just not even an option for me anymore
I have the Buycott app for my phone, which I don't use often enough.
I consulted for monsanto. Lol..
Now im the biggest opponent of gmo foods. I only shop whole foods and im a big proponent of a healthy lifestyle.
Chik-Fil-A
Barilla pasta
Home Depot
Those Duck Dynasty dickheads
Tyler Perry movies.
KNEE PADS for having Paula Deen on the cover.
@Lucy, the chairman of Pasta Barilla said he doesn't approve of homosexuality or of gay people adopting children. And an off the cuff comment about how the brand is marketed toward women, not gay people.
He tried to couch it all nice-like by saying he approves of gay marriage, though.
His apology was a crock of funny: "I simply wished to underline the central role the woman plays within the family."
Thanks for the info Seven! Now I have to find a new brand of pasta. :(
Hobby Lobby
Chick-fil-A
Wal-Mart
A&E since the Duck Dynasty crap
Barilla
I boycott diamonds, most leather (I think a pair of leather tennis shoes is okay), fur, circuses and other "animal entertainment", and fake musicians.
chik fil a
walmart
hobby lobby
monsanto owned companies
anything kardashian related
Kardashian shows, Walmart, chick fil a, Mcdonald's, Scientology
I don't boycott anything, sure there are places I don't go or products I don't buy but that's just because I have no need for them. I don't care what an owner of a business thinks or beliefs they hold. Hell, if I boycotted something involving people that I personally think have crazy political or religious beliefs, I'd never see a movie or read a book.
The closest I've come to a boycott lately is politics. Both sides in Washington are out of their fucking minds and have forgotten that they are supposed to help make the country work and instead have turned it into high school cliques where they are trying to outdo each other to get their way for the prom theme.
The list of what I boycott is pages long. I try to only buy products that are manufactured in countries that have strong labor laws and are eco-friendly. That often means that I spend way more than I would if I shopped at Target or Wal-Mart, but if it means that my money isn't going to fund forced labor, so be it. We shop as locally as possible and are big proponents of thrifting, garage/estate sales, etc., so that we're keeping our global footprint as small as we feasibly can. We are raising our children to live by the old motto, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."
And no matter how cheap, I REFUSE to shop at Wal-Mart for anything.
I refuse to buy any yachts or Learjets until the problem of income inequality is fixed. My income specifically.
A restaurant chain called Damons (homophobia)
I would boycott Walmart (treating staff like shit) and Chick Fil A (various things) were I in the US.
Serious answer I try to avoid all ESPN programming since their former employee Craig James used ESPN to get his widdle baby boy's head coach fired at Texas Tech by lying through his teeth on the network over and over about his kid's punishment & lack of playing time.
WalMart, Papa John's, Dominoes, McDonalds, etc, along with any establishment where the CEO or owner refuses to pay a living wage. I don't even want a penny of my earnings going towards funding a fucked up, bigoted, racist, misogynist, xenophobic right wing agenda.
Nestlé and News Corp....Rupert Murdoch is the devil incarnate
I never watch reality TV, like the KTrash or Housewives. I feel like those shows are doing irreparable damage to our culture.
Walmart. Always and foever.
Movies by or with:
Woody Allen
Roman Polanski
Tom Cruise
Spike Lee
Jim Carrey
All MLB broadcasts not involving the Yankees or Mets (since 1994 strike)
Sears - I only go to store closing sales since they jerked me around on the delivery of a lawn tractor. Guy's eyes almost fell out of his head when he realized they would have to hand me back $1700 cash, when I returned to cancel the order. Went across the parking lot to Home Depot, and the thing was delivered, put together and cutting grass by 10AM the next morning.
KFC - off and on when they fuck up my drive thru order. When they fuck up, I send a multi paragraph complaint email to corporate, and tell them in the complaint that I gave bogus name and mailing address, because I don't want their fucking coupons. One time the cocksuckers stiffed me on 2 pot pies. I drove 15 minutes back and the bitch behind the counter tried to ignore me and hide. They didn't have any cooked.
Escort Agencies - only people who lie more than whores are people sellin whores.
Snapple - Since Quaker Oats bought them and canceled advertising on the Stern Show. Plus they kept Rasberry and Peach, but killed my fave flavor, Orange.
I boycotted a bar in the area for about 5 years until the one cunt bartender got fired for trying to get in a fist fight w/ a male customer. I stopped going cause I knew I'd get drunk enough there to either hit her or give her a reason to have me banned.
TGIFridays - for selling swill booze as top shelf.
NY Post - it aint fit to have yer dog shit on.
Sirius Radio/Howard Stern Show - $14/month for edited repeats, 3 new shows/wk 2-3 weeks a month, and no funny? Pass. "I piss on my fans." Good thing I dodged the stream.
NJ Strip Clubs - I can't site there and stare at whores w/o having a cigarette. And when you go outside on a busy night to have a smoke, some other pervert scums yer seat. F that. Bridge to PA aint to far.
Beck's Beer - brewed in St. Louis, using lesser quality ingredients and still charging import prices. Suck my balls InBev. Yuengling taste good and get me drunk.
That is all I can think of off the top of my head.
I'm a moron,
but wat is Hobby Lobby?
I've never heard of it.
Seinfeld, the show.
Warecat, it's an arts and craft supply chain. Ya know, for those baskets and silk flowers I imagine you make :)
Ah! I get it now, Kristen.
Like Pat Catans!
Next to the porn store.
*Kristin
Told u I was a moron =p
Now that I've stopped laughing and wiped away the tears (no, not that type of tears), I have to tell you how much I enjoyed reading about your misfortune. Now why am I laughing when I found all the other comments so depressing?
You did not bring Pat Catans into this. Bridal fashions and nipple clamps! I love you, warecat.
"I piss on my fans." Good thing I dodged the stream.
Hahahahaha, that made me laugh out loud and scare the cat!
ABC for canceling One Life to Live
Nothing. I certainly avoid many things, but that's not the same as an active boycott.
Also, life would be too boring if I only interacted with people or societies or businesses whose ethos I agreed with. That's practically...elitist.
Work on your stand-up routine, Count. Seven and I will have front row seats. <3
Only place around with an amateur night, the owner sits in the back and steals jokes to use when he MCs for real comics. I would hate to have to beat some ass one night when I want to just get drunk and laugh at Dave Atell or Charlie Murphy.
We'll call him on it. Then hurl bottles of Beck's at him. And Snapple Raspberry and Peach.
Feelings mutual, Wig.
If I was on my comp, I'd so heart the gif outta ur face right now.
#hardcore
Not before I heart gifed you so hard you'll only dream in Nene reaction gifs.
#patcatans
Anything with palm oil in it

That sounds way more violent than I intended.

There's other companies I would boycott, but I already don't buy from them.

= DeBeers

I started boycotting Gillette during an organized boycott for experimenting on animals. I never went back.
I started boycotting Target after they donated to Prop 8.
