Blind Item #10
This former A list mostly movie actor who is an Academy Award winner/nominee is much like an old character he played and spends his days walking and digging through trash cans and then turns in cans for money at the end of each day.

Robin Williams
Al Pacino?
Nick Nolte.
Jeff Bridges?
Ok guessing my very first thought is failing me here but I just think of The Dude in his bathrobe.
"Down and Out in Beverly Hills".
Adrian Grody
No,te....slums of Beverly Hills
Nolte
If Keanu was ever nominated for anything....but Nick Boote is a very good guess he looks like a homeless bum most of the time.
Whomever stared in Down and Out in Beverly Hills----and he should save those cans for the homeless!
Right down and out in BH
Or Depp
yup Cleo---I agree
*Nolte * wtf is boote that you insist on spelchek?
Nolte and Down and Out in Beverly Hills. Great movie! He used to bring the hotness. :(
"Fisher King"
Nolte. I did love the Fisher King but don't think it's Robin.Nolte looks like a homeless person
Rourke?
He was homeless in The Wrestler.
Nolte
"Bad Guess"
Nolte
Isn't this some kindness BI about a dude concerned about the enviroment who tries to recycle everything his awful neighbours don't?
What's wrong with that? It's environmentally friendly and whoever he is is helping the earth. Recycling and turning in cans isn't just for the poor! Everyone should do it.
Yes
@PJ I totally agree with the thought, but it depends on the city. I can only address the Bay Area because I was involved in sustainability efforts there. But the recycling and landfill programs are funded by the recycling bins that the city collects. Poaching recyclables results in tax payers having to fund the recycling program. There was this nice old couple who drove their brand new Volvo around our neighborhood poaching recyclables. So while it may seem fine for a single person to do, especially if they actually need the money, there are broader consequences to poaching than one would at first think. Also some cities collect everything as "trash" but then sort out the recyclables at their processing facility (again, to fund the waste management program).
(That's all city or county specific, just said to give some answers to the "why not" part of your comment - I agree with you completely that in general who cares this is a good thing that helps the environment).
Either this is someone who is *really* committed to saving the planet and it's not a big deal or we're talking about someone who has really fallen on hard times and doing this to survive. Is there a third possibility?
In either case: pics or it didn't happen. I don't buy that an Oscar nominee (possibly a winner) "spends his days" digging through trash without someone selling pics to a tabloid or putting it on Instagram.
Cleo- bingo! He has MI fer sure.
Nick Nolte. "Down and Out in Beverly Hills"
nominated for "Affliction" (GREAT movie - James Coburn is terrifying as the father)
Yep. Nick Nolte is my guess, too. Down and Out was a great movie.
Probably Nolte, he's out of his mind at least half the time. So is Busey but Enty would have mentioned his reality tv stuff.
I'd prefer the money on bottle returns go directly to homeless and poor people who need it to survive. In SF and NYC we used to leave them on top of or next to the trash cans so they wouldn't have to dig for them.
Agree w/the Nolte/Down and out in Bev Hills guesses.
Any yes Reno, he sure did bring the HOTNESS - Rich Man/Poor Man, The Deep, North Dallas Forty - he was so handsome.
Yeah, Nolte was my first guess. He was a hotty. My mum used to crush hard on him. I understood why when I saw The Deep.
I sat one seat away from Nick Nolte on a plane once...Miami to Orlando.
Short flight. He had a can of apple juice and two bags of peanuts.
Ed Begley Jr. He's always been into saving the planet. Not sure which movie tho
Ed Begley Jr parked his bike by my car one time at the little local hardware store.
This fits Nolte.
There was a time when my dad and Nolte were identical twins.
