Today's Blind Items - He Hides It Well
Obviously drugs in Hollywood are just a fact of life in the industry. I don't think it is as bad as when Sean Young said that at one point on a film set, there was no one who was not doing drugs. It was accepted in the 80's. Now, it is a little more frowned upon. Budgets are higher and studios have realized that actors are pretty replaceable, even A listers. In one situation, they are a little harder to replace. When actual acting is required. Although most movies seem to be some kind of cartoon or comic book that relies on CGI rather than acting, all of those awards that are given every winter usually have some acting in them.
This foreign born actor is A list. He has been given a chance at box office glory and bombed. Part of it was the script and part of it was he just didn't care. It was a nice big fat check and he didn't have to do much more than just show up as part of an equally bad ensemble cast. What makes him A list are those movies which require acting. Where he has to focus and deliver a hardware winning performance. He does that. In a very big way. The big awards have fawned over him the past few years.
When he was making his big bomb, he was not very discreet about his drug use. He spent most of the massive amounts of downtime, in his trailer using. Privately, despite the many flaws in the movie, producers used him as a scapegoat to the studio bosses and our actor has been passed over for big studio films. He has not been passed over for the smaller films. They also know of his drug use, but have been rolling the dice because they want an award. They want his acting. By looking at him, you would never guess that he is a heroin user. Oh sure, he is very thin, but he hides that just like he hides everything else. Through carefully tailored clothes and making sure he is photographed from certain angles, he can hide it. You also never see him without being fully clothed. No shorts and a t-shirt for our actor, Nope. Long sleeves. Long pants. He also has cover in his significant other who, despite her looks, is very protective and very loyal and makes sure to keep everything hidden. She knows much of their relationship is for publicity, but she is not going anywhere. He treats her fairly well, except when he is desperate to use. If you have seen them on one of their frequent long distance airplane rides, he is fine with her for the first several hours. As that flight grows longer though, he becomes much more impatient and demanding. It is then he lashes out at her. She always covers for him though.
This actor is so quiet. Never in the tabloids. Never a peep. At some point, this will come out and everyone will say they never suspected him. All of you will know though.

Eddie doesn't strike me as much of a drug user and I think he's known his wife since college/university.
There weren't any comments when I posted mine, so now that French Girl reminded me about the Harry Potter spinoff he's doing I don't have a clue who fits. I don't think Fassbender fits because he's done multiple X-Men movies now. This blind sounds like an actor that's "one & done" with big budget movies. Tom Hiddleston's been in multiple Marvel movies. Unless I'm not understanding Enty right, (totally possible!)

Not redmayne. Enty would have said academy award winner/nominee if it were eddie. Plus he's not exactly quiet and never in the tabloids.

Eddie Redmayne seems unlikely but since that seems the whole point of this blind - that you wouldn't suspect him. He's also talented and very thin. It still doesn't fit for me. Fassbender is the obvious choice, except you can see everything but his asshole in Shame, so not exactly a shrinking violet.

Tom Hardy is a verrrry interesting thought. He fits on a lot of levels. I had high hopes for his movie about the Krays "Legend" but it was another huge flop for Hardy. I don't think it cracked 2 million in US box office, it did a bit better in the UK, they were UK gangsters.
Tom isn't very thin, though. And he's not a quiet guy either.
Or Asa Butterfield? Not sure if Ender's Game or Hugo are considered bombs, though.

I do think it's Redmayne. He poses on the red carpet like a 1976 JCPENNEY catalog. His wife looks more like a handler than a wife (at least in the photos from the last year's award season) and while he is currently cast in the next Harry Potter movie it hasn't come out yet so we don't know how the box office is going to be.

Robert Pattinson. Movie bomb: Queen of the Desert.
Bombed, mediocre critics. He probably only went for the desert gig because of the money. Ensemble cast. Pattinson keeps out of the press and has a steady girlfriend who uses her association with him to sell her music.
I take Robert Pattinson back. He can't act and no one will give him an award. lol.

Fassbender is doing Assassin's Creed and X-Men. Steve Jobs doesn't have a bad ensamble cast and a bad script. Nominations for him and Winslet. Sorkin won the Golden Globe.

One can easily Google photos of Eddie Redmayne is short sleeved shirts - there are even photos of him mostly naked in a cape! I understand this is supposed to be Redmayne, but it's obviously one of the many made CDAN blinds. IMO, however, it's in poor taste to attach a heroin problem to someone just for the sake of sensationalism.

No way. He has been fawned over for 30 years
plus ++. He won his first (of 4 I think) Oscars around 30 years ago as well. Not a contender. I would go for Redmayne more than Hiddleston or Cumberbatch anyday. I watch a lot of U.K. tv, Redmayne is listless and halfway drooling in everything he acts in. Plus Redmayne was a major model for a while, that would be a starting point if any.

No, it's really hard to google pics of ER in short-sleeved shirts. I just tried a number of avenues and except for one or two shots in t-shirts where he's carrying a lot more weight and looks healthier (him younger?) he is always wearing long sleeves or at most rolled sleeves to his forearm. I reckon it's him.
Just googled E.R so that's a lie. It's very easy to find short sleeved pics of him actually.

Well he did beat the living shit out of his girlfriend but she dropped the charges so it wouldn't hurt his career. She got a restraining order. She didn't do it in any big way or make money and that's why I believe it's true. Refuse to get on the Fassbender train for that reason.
